  4. I will begin to think about any level of "gun control" when one of these progressives answers one simple question, "If someone is not going to obey the laws relating to murder, why would you believe they will obey those limiting the possession or use of guns?"

  9. Mine too. I have an X-Caliber 18" barrel on my .338 Federal build and it does shoot a bit softer than the 18" Faxon .308. The .308 has a Miculek brake while the .338 has a generic compensator. There isn't much difference and both shoot very soft, very close to my 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel but I was really surprised with the .338. I have LaRue MBT2 triggers on them now and they are very comfortable shooters.
  10. Howdy from the Texas side of the borders, i.e. real West Texas!
  11. This year I am taking the 6.5 Grendel and the 6.8 SPC builds into the field to see which performs best vs. Whitetail/Mule Deer. Both seem to shoot very flat out to 200+ yards although I am getting a little better consistency with the 6.8. Both are very light setups making them ideal for carrying as I prefer moving around to sitting in a blind. We shall see.

  13. What no one seems to be talking about is the level of planning and practice that went into this event (what the hell word do you really use for this). You don't just order a bunch of guns from Bud's and ammo from SSA and jump into this. Aside from the issue of getting everything to the room and building the stands, if that was bump fire he had to practice for some time to be as proficient in holding for long bursts with any accuracy, particularly if one/some of the weapons were AR10/AR208s. I would still like to know whether some of them were modified for full auto. Did they find the tools/set up at any of his homes to indicate he was doing home gun-smithing? The just appears to be some loose ends here that point to something other than a lone wolf. A lone wolf shooter perhaps but there are too many questions without answers.
  14. Damn youngsters.
  15. People kill strangers for one of two reasons, notoriety or for a cause. Notoriety is typically associated with a younger person while a cause is associated with an older individual (sometimes being married to a psychologist pays off). I expect we will find this individual (not a nut, perhaps a bit paranoid) will be much the same as the Arlington shooter who targeted Republicans or the guy who shot his neighbor because he is a Trump supporter. Basically the media is the underlying responsible party, as they are collectively making it OK to hate and harm those who believe in America, just as the CBS VP posted. We will not know specifics until his computers/papers, etc. are analyzed.
  16. Great minds - I have one of each in their respective jigs waiting on the shelf.
  17. Went to Shaler High before it became Shaler Area.
  18. The communists will use any excuse to try to disarm the opposition. My wife and I are heading to Las Vegas Thursday with reservations at the Luxor, essentially next door. Ought to be an interesting trip.
