Worth it if you buy it from sam's club where you can get larger amounts. lol.
  5. ok, now we are getting somewhere. lol. would have been so much easier if we would have started out with that information. lol. since you plan on shooting competitions, I say the biggest thing is trigger time and load development. most of the time it seems like rifles these days are far more accurate than the shooters if they have the correct load tuned in.
  6. Are you planning on shooting competitions? I said in my last comment, if you plan on shooting "matches" then I could see the use of going long. But for most shooting applications that long of barrel is unnecessary. much shorter barrels with the 6.5cm can still get out to 1,000+ yards. I don't blame you for not being able to afford a kreiger, I can't afford a take down pin at this time. was just my recommendation or something similar, again if you were trying to make the most accurate rifle you could, if you planned on shooting competitions. I was referring to length, not diameter. some of the heavy grain rounds have better ballistic coefficiencies because of the long slim shape, but that doesn't mean they always fit into a mag. some people have gotten around this by seating the bullets deeper in the case, but that can affect accuracy, among other things. If it was a bolt gun where you could load one at a time straight into the chamber, that would be less of an issue. Federal has never been my favorite ammo manufacture so maybe someone else could give input on their 150gr 6.5cm rounds.
  7. The article I was thinking about when he was talking about 1,000+ yards. You can do those ranges with shorter barrels. So unless he plans to shoot matches, then I would say yeah go for it, but I would also say go for something like a kreiger or a shilen. What 150gr rounds would you be talking about? Maybe I have fallen behind on 6.5mm lately because the largest rounds I have seen lately for 6.5 creedmoor and .260 rem has been 143gr. Also, will 150gr fit in a mag for an ar-10?
  8. Why you going so long on the barrel?
  9. I'm still waiting until my schedule is out. Only have us scheduled till October 13th right now. And I can't take the days off if I don't already have them off because I already have to cancel one week I have off so I can use those days when the baby is born. Hoping I have a 4 day weekend though, it is a possibility based on the previous weeks.
  10. Yeah me too until I had to clean all the little bastards myself. lol.
  11. Not a bad price either. Not like I will be getting mine finished anytime soon, but the barrel might be the last thing I get because I still haven't fully decided what I want yet. lol. plus most companies only have 20 or 22 inch barrels in .260 it seems and I will probably be going shorter than that.
  12. I'd take a black one for M-Lok!
  13. I don't usually fish for pan fish, but crappies are strange. I got into a school of big ones one time and was pulling them in left and right with 1/2 ounce rattle traps. those paper lips are some of the best tasting fish in my opinion.
  14. Remember, I am infantry. Any good infantryman knows any other job in the military is just support to us. ? Besides we can kill with our hands and I needed to raise up some more little soldiers. ? Yeah besides the kid on the way, I also got a little sidetracked with the 300 blk. It will get there eventually though. And you getting yours done can make settle on some the decisions and more out any issues that may come up hopefully. lol. So that's the barrel you are getting?
  15. It hurts enough reading this thread without you stabbing me in the hear shepp. My problem is the last 3 years I have been making kids instead of guns. lol.
  16. Don't tell them what it is, just serve it to them. ? Oh and don't forget those rabbit and squirrel hearts, those are good eaten. Just make sure they are rinsed real well and not full of blood.
  17. it's a red meat, so seasonings I usually use are similar to beef or venison seasonings, but I would keep it light because the best way to eat it is in a stew I think. It is probably good other ways but wild rabbits and squirrels aren't really fat animals, they are lean. The meat pieces aren't very large and they have a lot of small bones, so because of this I go the easy route usually and make a stew. 3 rabbits or 4-6 squirrels (depending on size and type) is enough to make a stew for 6 people with plenty of leftovers. First I bake them in a tinfoil covered pan much like chicken can be cooked, enough water and butter to keep them moist, along with your seasoning. you can cook them whole if your pan is big enough or cut them into 2 or 4 pieces if you don't have enough room. once they are cooked you will have to get a little messy. get all those bones out, it is pretty easy though because the meat will just peal right off after being cooked all the way and your pieces will mostly be the perfect size for throwing straight into a nice stew. There is plenty of stew recipes that you can get from the internet, some simple, some a little more high class with adding red wines and such. Rabbits and squirrels are very healthy to eat also because they eat a lot of plants, mushrooms, nuts, and berries. Plus usually a very long hunting season and though many people use dogs, all you really need is an accurate .22 or a 20 gauge with bird shot. rabbits I usually use a 20 gauge with a full choke because I often shoot them on the run and I find I don't need a 12 for them, some people I know even use a .410. Not usually to may bbs in them. For squirrels I like using .22 because eventually those curious bastards stop jumping or climbing around and just look at you, then you shoot them in the head, not damaging any of the meat. Both animals are the easiest types of game I have cleaned and you only need a small pocket knife.
  18. squirrels and rabbits are one of my two favorite things to eat and hunt. just have to skin them quick or the damn flees will start jumping off as soon as they start to cool off.
  19. Old post or not, I agree with him. I don't trust myself with a dremmel most of the time, would rather send my stuff off to one of the half blind old guys with the shakes. haha.
  20. suspects fleeing on foot can be the most dangerous thing, at any point they can turn a corner and then wait to ambush. I hope this officer gets the justice he deserves. Let us know if you hear more please.
  21. Glad you posted that shepp. any first responder, deserves to be remembered for their heroism here and also military members. I actually got called up for the funeral detail for this but unfortunately I was out of town and couldn't do it. I'm sure if I would not have been on vacation I would have been responding to the scene that took a long time to deal with and many others getting injured from as well. Crazy how this kind of thing happened.
  22. Just about any big truck stop up here. just look for the girls with meth mouth. I'm on vacation right now so I am not checking as often, but I would never let an offer like that get away. ?
  23. government on a sig kick lately. wonder what high ranking officials have stock in sig. lol.
  24. It's a deal, but you might be waiting a while for payment. I have been married over 8 years, not sure I even remember what a blow job feels like. lol. But for $20 you could get one at one of the local truck stops. haha.
  25. Don't get this trooper going on people's driving behavior, I'll loose my mind in this thread
