  1. yeah, I went off of his original post of saying, "both 20 in. barrel" totally agree about the barrel thing, going off of other things besides the barrel, I liked the LF308 look to it.
  2. pretty good price, better than ops-core
  3. strips, only the scraps and difficult stuff do I grind, and then I just use that for venison burgers.
  4. I like soft and juicy, don't mind a little bit of a chew, but mine usually comes out hard.
  5. do you make your jerky nice and soft? when my wife makes the jerky it often times comes out hard as a rock or like eating leather. lol
  6. So I am looking for a new affordable scope for my .22 to shoot squirrels with. My last scope when I was sighting it in yesterday it wouldn't hold a zero, so it's now a kid's toy. I don't wanna put a lot of money into this but it needs to hold a zero. So what do you guys recommend?
  7. yeah, that's why I like a nice through and through behind the shoulder blades and don't need a huge hole. I hate ruining meat since that's the main reason I hunt.
  8. I spent the last hour of my shift tonight driving 25 in a 55 with windows down yelling at the deer to get off my road. lol. saw 2 nice 8 pointers jump in front of me though, sped up but they got away. :(
  9. yeah I am told that smoking can cut down on my butchering time for deer a lot too, and use a lot more of the meat also. it always comes down to money though, if I didn't have a family I would have everything I could ever want... well except a hot wife and cute kids. so I guess I will just have to settle with the hot wife and cute kids, and just accept being poor. lol. I can just take my meat down to shepp and have him cook it for me!
  10. I need a nice smoker
  11. 1 round 2 kills! you are better than a sniper! seen the show Alphas? like the one that has the power that can ricochet rounds and hit his intended target, that must be you!
  12. mmmm. making me hungry now. sadly sometimes I overcook my food because my wife likes hers well done so often times leave mine on to long as well. she had food poisoning real bad when she was younger.

    NEW BUILD

lightening up a rifles is always a good thought, but when I look at them all I see is places I would spend extra time cleaning the dirt out of. that and the extra cost over something a little more simple just make me want to work on my arm muscles instead. still pretty cool.
  14. yeah I figured the large diameter polymer tip might help with the feeding. and being .30-06 I figured 150 grain has plenty of energy even out to extended ranges and shoots flatter than some larger loads. size isn't everything, what's important is getting a wet hole... bullet hole covered in blood I mean you sick minded gutter dwellers.
  15. I would go with the LF308, simply because it's more my style being more tactical. I don't have the foggiest on the quality of the things though, but that being said, I was never that impressed with stock dpms rifles as far as quality is concerned, not bad but has never wowed me.
  16. haha, an example of cmmg giving problems like someone brought up a few weeks back. sad, such good looking uppers and lowers too.
  17. if you cook it long enough it is edible right? so wouldn't cooked parasites just be added protein?
  18. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/875439/winchester-deer-season-xp-ammunition-30-06-springfield-150-grain-extreme-point-polymer-tip I bought 2 boxes and got a $5 rebate. :P was looking at some hornady, nosler, browning, and federal premium bullets also. but for the price and a rebate, how can you beat that? lol. plus they should perform just as well as I need them too, and probably better.
  19. I love the different colors/shades, gives it kinda a camo break up without actually having a pattern.
  20. been a while since I purchased ammo for a .30-06... so doing a little research, any suggestions?
  21. Haha hoff, amen
  22. yeah he was using Winchester super x 180 grain power points, which are soft tip... he will buy anything at Walmart. lol. I'll get some polymer tips and see how they perform. if it doesn't help, best make the first shot count. lol.
  23. It doesn't look like the feed ramp is the problem now. looks like from the feed ramp to the chamber there is a sharp ridge at the end of the chamber where the bolt locks that the tip of the rounds get stuck on. idk if you can see it in the picture, and forgive the dirt, my father in law doesn't every clean his guns... which means when they stop working I get them but have to do a lot of work to them to get them working. lol
