I don't store my firearms in the cases but use it for transport. The guns will some times spend a week in the case between trips. I had a chance a while back to tour a German WW2 sub that was on display at San Diego. I imagime American subs of that era were similar and all I can say is all those submariners deserved medals.

That's really sad, hopefully the family can get something sorted out and the help they need going forward. There but for the grace of God go I I suspect that most if not all of us here have done things or been involved in something that one simple change and the outcome would have been different
