  1. Welcome from WA Can't post to many pictures! Al
  2. And well on my way to use that last 12.5 Sig barrel Free shipping no tax, just the way I like it.
  3. Good price, don't need one right away so on the notification list. Thanks. Now if I could find a 5.6oz 2-1/2" buffer on the cheap things would be groovy.
  4. Paying back for all the great help here!
  5. All the old mixed brass ran awesome except some S&B, primers seemed to seat a little bit high, not so high I would notice but the bolt noticed when it almost rotated all the way into battery but instead jammed tight on a couple. Only way to tell the difference was to put them in a case gauge and use a straight edge. Culled out about 10-15, all S&B. Anyway, some data comparing progressive weighed loads in mixed 3 times + fired brass vs single headstamp low use hand trickled loads. Progressive press weighed loads, worn mixed brass, 42.4 AR-Comp Fed primers 150 gr FMJ BT 12.5" barrel Single headstamp (Starline) 1 or 2 times fired max, trickled loads 42.4 AR-Comp Fed primers 150 gr Hornady SST, 12.5" barrel Red dot optics, couldn't tell the difference at 100 yard accuracy wise, budget loads perfect for the gravel pit. Barrel length data: 12.5" Sig barrel 150 SSTs 230 FPS +/- slower then the 150 SSTs out of the Anderson 18" barrel
  6. So JBO is the brand? Can't find it on their site. Seekins and Odin start $50-$60
  7. Drilled it 5/64 .078 Seekins AGB Have the Superlative Arms on the Anderson AM10 but don't use the bleed off feature so saved 50 bucks this time.
  8. Killer deal. They have one less then a minute ago. So is there a better deal out there besides 65 bucks for a KVP 5.6 oz 2-1/2" buffer?
  9. Yep, as far as I understand WA Regs, no SBR's. Tailhooks and SBA's fine. Shot the 308 with the Tailhook Mod 2 brace (7" tube), 5.6 oz KVP 2.5" buffer, orange Sprinco spring this morning. First mag ran great but brass at 1-2:00. 1/2 turn in on the AGB and 3-4:00 ejection pattern. Ran out a few of mags ea of 180 gr and 150 gr ammo, 100% reliable. not as much recoil as I was expecting. I like the SBA's because you can use a AR10 length tube, but kind of flimsy. The Tailhook is stiffer, proprietary 7" tube, but as long as the 308 will run reliably with the short tube, is a great adjustable brace. SBA3s are going for around $125, Tailhooks $150.
  10. Yes, I am aware. Guys at the police range shooting them with bipods and high power scopes. But no SBR's in WA, stamp or not. Go figure... Also, looked at the box, it's a Tailhook Mod 2, not mod 1. Telescoping. I'll dig it out tomorrow and see how the 308 runs with the 7" tube. Take some photos.
  11. I was trying to stay within the spirit of the regulations. 😎 (No un-coded messages on compromised frequencies)

  13. I know. I'll get some at the range.
  14. Swapped out he SBA3 with a Tailhook Mod 1 on the 12.5 308 last night. Took the long bumper off the KVP 5.6 oz and restored it to the 2.5" configuration for the shorter tube. Orange Sprinco. Flipped the brace open, inserted arm and grabbed the pistol grip. I shoot left handed, muzzle points about 45 degrees to the right and no way to engage the red dot. So figured what the heck, tried it right handed. points a little straighter but still no way to see the red dot. Really cool device except for the primary function doesn't work (for me). It does work nicely for cheek or shoulder weld. Going to run it this weekend just to see if that spring/ buffer/ tube configuration flies, then maybe back to the SBA3/ tubs flatwire/AR10 tube. FWIW, the SBA3 kind of works when on the arm, but strap would only work for someone with a 1-1/4" arm diameter.
  15. Having a tough time tracking this one down, looking for a 9-10" raw handguard. found a 12" at outdoor tactical supplier, that seems to be about it. really would like 9"-10" M-lock or Key fine. Any ideas?
  16. Did it again, boxes sticking out of my mailbox. AMT upper and lower 308. Must be a new mail carrier. Fortunately got a delivery notification email from one of the vendors.
  17. Not following, small frame test fit for large frame?
  18. Faxon 14.5" Pinned 3 port pencil barrel, sweet. Any thinner you would see through to the rifling. Right to Bear $189 no shipping no tax. Idiot postman delivered it 8:00 last night, placed it in my STREETSIDE mailbox sticking out 6" with the door down because it was longer then my mailbox and he was too lazy to walk 40' and ring my doorbell or leave it on the porch. Saw it sticking out this morning leaving for work. Best delivery since Anderson sent my AM10 back standard shipping no signature, got home and it was leaning against the front door. At least they left it on the front porch...
  19. Looking at the data again and racking my brain, I used some new brass that I pulled the bullets out of and dumped the powder, and then reloaded without re-sizing the neck. might have been the first 15 or 20 loads. The reduced RL-7 from a couple weeks ago didn't exhibit anything like this.
  20. Had a nice day, got some sub MOA groups. The RL7 did not perform well until I hit close to max loading. Noticed that with the 458 as well. 21. Circa 1929 '95 Winchester. Still a regular shooter. Sends 300 gr Hornady's uprange at over 2000 fps with SD's in the single digits. Punishes on both ends. I've posted these before but you got me stirred up, pretty proud of this shooter.
  22. Well now, just finished up a couple hundred 308 gravel pit specials... Mixed headstamp multi times fired brass ran through a small base die that I shortened up a few extra thousands, 150 gr fmj over 42.4 gr AR Comp loaded on the Dillon 650 progressive. Definitely not loaded to be tack drivers but fast and cheap and don't care if I recover the cases. 23. Shooting USPSA I had backed out the mainspring tension screw on my 629 until the hammer would bounce back off the primer, spring wouldn't even hold it all the way forward. Only could run Federal primers. Argued with an old gunsmith I know for over a year about the subject and he finally convinced me, better geometry to change out the mainspring and rebound spring and polish up all the lockwork, and keep the screw all the way in.
  24. Been looking for the last piece of the puzzle for the Colt SP2A2, a sight for the grenade launcher. Found one on Ebay mounted on a cracked rail, looks authentic. Looks like the correct configuration?
  25. This was the tedious balance, no idea why I grabbed a box with this boneyard collection in it but I had it with me. Springs: Armalite EA1095 Sprinco Red Ar15 Carbine (Glad I didn't have a sprinco orange with me...) Buffers: Armalite 5.4 Expo Arms (H3) 5.2 Expo Arms (H2) 4.6 Expo Arms (H1) 4.0 Ar15 Carbine 3.0
