There is a whole forum mostly dedicated to the Keltec Sub 2000's gotta be 2000 or 3000 members. Can't imagine thousands of people all talking about just one platform, oh, wait a minute... Anyway, trying to talk one member into posting over here, kind of a "I built a AR-10 with AR-15 parts and it don't feed so good" guy, but I don't think he believes there is an entire forum dedicated to one particular platform (well, other then S2K)... Been helping him as much as possible, maybe he'll come around...

Sightmark/ Sellmark Tried their R-Spec red dot reflex, we put them on 2 different AR 40 builds, one at least has been off and back on, still holding zero and using the same battery they came with. Only flaw I can find is the retical change lever can move, happened once, but moved it back still zero. Looking at some of their scopes, pretty much have about 100 different options from 1-4×20 to 10-40×60. Can't find much bad said about them, other then they don't quit match up with scopes costing 5x as much. Might skip one of the goto brands and try one next time, maybe one of their 1-10×24s.

I'm knee deep in the shiit, working in Pioneer Square. If a person feels like working here it's like picking gold up off the street. If you don't, free needles and cheap heroin and a really loud wake up call really early in the morning when you set your cardboard box/ tent/ shopping cart up in front of my construction entrance!

This is the least of Seattle's problems!

+1 Anderson Manufacturing Replaced my AM10 upper and lower, barrel, and handguard on a second hand midlength carbine when they determined it was built before they really knew what they were doing. Used Anderson on my latest AR15 build for upper and lower, great price great product.

Good tip. good tip.

well, maybe not 4.

OK, ok, every time I checked they were out of stock. Now in stock but the price went up. Still what do we end up spending going to 2-3 different sites to get a long tube, heavy buffer, spring, etc. Voltr A5 tube $50, out of stock. Armalite tube $42.00 Primary Arms. Heavy buffers? Not free. Oh, and by the way, Armalite kit just went out of stock again while I was typing! All those PSA G3 buyers must have hit the site. Rule 65b.

Now 42 barrels left, $0.00 shipping (Don't ask me how I know...)

Armalite 1027025 Carbine 6 position extension tube, ECO120 5.5 oz buffer, EA1095 spring, castle nut and plate $65.00 + $5.00 shipping. In stock. Need at least one or two of these on the shelf, no?

Spotting scopes deteriorating
Albroswift replied to RedRiverII's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
No, didn't ask. Wish now I had of when it first started. I'm thinking it's a little too late now for masking tape and matte sprat paint anyway. -

I'll stick some dry leaves to them when I get back out to the woods, like a mini gillie suit. At least it keeps the goo off every thing else. -
Spotting scopes deteriorating

The steiners are over 20 years old, breakdown started 7, 8, maybe 9 years ago. Slowly spread. Never cleaned or exposed to solvents, but they do spend a fair amount of time on the dashboard. Maybe a uv thing -
Spotting scopes deteriorating
Albroswift replied to RedRiverII's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
My Stieners did the same thing, started sticking leaves and brush to it to keep from getting the residue on my hands but its 80% gone now, once it starts it never stops. Started as a little patch about the size of a quarter, I would get this black greasy stuff on my hand didn't know where it was coming from. Looking at the Sig Kilo 3000 bdx but can't get my arms around the price tag. -
Its funny looking up and down the line on our pistol range how many AR pistol's are being shouldered/ cheek welded, half of them are LEO. So some of them are educated at least. Last week a guy had an AR15 pistol 9" barrel or so, bipod and optic, loud ass brake, shooting on the rifle line, started talking to him about it, said he bought it complete at the range office. Brings new meaning to "Support Your Local Sheriff"!

Down at the police range shop this morning looking around before we hit the range, noticed a couple of pistol braced ARs. First one, adjustable, Gear Head brace, real similar to a carbine type buffer tube but notches in the side of the guide rail instead of round recesses, talking to the officer behind the counter his comment was "can't use a carbine tube with a pistol brace" I pointed to one of the other pistols with the SBA3 brace on it, wow, right there, AR pistols with carbine buffer tubes. Didn't rub it in or anything, (good group of guys down there) but if I had the same conversation with the same officer in, say, a different situation, (one where there wasn't a SBA3 hanging on the wall and I had an ar pistol in my car situation) I would have been screwed. It would have been the " prevailed in the end but screwed in the mean time" kind of screwed, but still screwed. Unfortunate the LEOs around here aren't up on the regs, but I'll bet that's the norm not the exception. Probably same with Fish and Game. Anyway, liked the look of the Gear Head, hadn't seen one up close before.

And I cut it a strong 11- 3/16" straight, it is still a full 11-3/16" after the bends There are 46 of the 12.5" .308 barrels left, I wish I had the willpower to buy a few more and just stash them away. My problem is every $49.00 great deal turns into another $649.00 build!
-
You bet. Really want a can but don't feel like messing with the app process right now. Pistol didn't seem to beat me up too bad, off the bench or off hand not bad with 150's and 180's.

Shot the 308 pistol and the ported 223 this morning. 308 is a madman, really blast to shoot-- the gravel pit ain't going to know what hit it. 80% lower, 11-3/16" gas tube cut, necked, and bent from a straight rifle length tube, no name $89 upper, Seekins adjustable block, Toolcraft NiB BCG, ebay ebay CDNN. Radian Talon safety. (Splurged on the BCG and the safety!) 110% reliable, zero issues. Ported 223 had noticeably less recoil, quicker back on target then the non ported, even with the lighter hand guard. Seemed like less muzzle rise as well, maybe my imagination. Functioned flawlessly. Once I had the gas block setting dialed in it fed 150's and 180's with 100% reliability.

Sorry, that was suppose to go in the Sig Barrel thread...

Almost finished the build around the ported sig 5.56 barrel. Dabbed a little 44/40 original cold blue in the ports Anderson upper and lower Toolcraft BCG Not sure where the tiny little millspec looking buttstock came from, been laying around for 20 years or so. MBUS sights only at this time Aim Sport guard, I was impressed with this, self aligning, lightweight, clean looking. Didn't have a buffer detent spring or pin, the rule that if you dig deep enough in the parts bin you will find what you need didn't quite work out, stuffed the spring and buffer in it anyway and snapped her shut. Parts bin almost empty. Range in the morning with this and the 308 and and...
