That video comes from a game called "World of Guns: Gun Disassembly". It is available for free on Steam for a number of platforms. Even available on Android phones through some app stores. The Mauser 98k is an early gun; but there is likely some work required to unlock it (I can hardly remember now). This promo code may help if it's still active (press `, then type promo AF1CJ7QG); it would unlock the Mauser 98k among other things... Might be useful if you want to be able to look at the disassembly in 3D instead of the views provided in the video. And, there are other guns available of course.

This. I was guessing the same by looking at the primers alone. Only time will tell in this case; and I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. Just my $0.01. Welcome from New York state by the way. Good looking build from what I can see. Tuning is the easy part once the lower is tight in my opinion (and that one looks tight). That interior work in a lower is a soft spot for me though...

There is actually at least one previous thread about this... I noticed their own product description also outlines these as compatible uppers: -DPMS. -Aero Precision, -CMMG, -Thunder Tactical, -Anyone who lists DPMS Generation 1! They also note explicitly that PA10 is not compatible whatsoever.

I really enjoyed watching these too! Much appreciated.

Welcome from the upstate of New York.

And mentioning it does not explicitly mean you own more than the "norm"... Simply seen and experienced those extras.

And THAT... Is the REST of the Story... You don't have to be 50 to remember Paul Harvey... I'm not even 40 and listed to him religiously in my youth. That guy had a GREAT radio voice! But yeah; good company is the only company I need. Don't have enough thumbs for that one (though; some humans are actually born with more than two)... Extra little toes are also a thing (better balance?).

Same here! A. Nobody want's that paper money. And: B. what's worthy buying these days? I don't want any of that fast food; or soggy cardboard boxed food these days...

I don't know what your latitude is, or what the climate is like there (or how it has changed over time); nor where you grew up for that matter... Fireflies have a very specific window in which the "operate". I found a beer bottle cap with a "fact" about fireflies years ago... It's roughly a single month in which they chemically light up, for breeding purposes of course; but strictly dependent on the weather. They still exist in NYS last time I checked. I don't recall them being at all active or prevalent in urban areas at all... Open "wild growing" fields; and some specific farm crops are usually overburdened though. The smear on the windscreen when driving; or riding through those areas at night?... Epic!

Turned everything on yesterday and leveled the scales; everything worked fine... The only problem was that it is impossible to read the display on the RCBS Chargemaster screen without viewing directly above it. My current goal is simply a functional and ergonomic setup. The original layout was nice; but if I can't read the screen, the Chargemaster is difficult to use. So today I worked on a new arrangement. Spent a little while passing the dish around, and so far it's not all that bad. I might make it a higher priority to adjust the Chargemaster screen if it slows me down; but I think I can get used to it. Sadly there is no contrast adjustment; and I'm not sure it would help anyway. That would require taking it apart the scale module and "fixing" the angle of the display. First order of business is programming loads into the memory slots while it's up front and handy.

I thought some one would appreciate those. Casting projectiles can be a lot of fun once a rhythm is established. Can't really go too fast unless you spill on yourself; but it sure is easy to go too slow... There is quite a bit of development work left in that respect; and I haven't even tried out the Hi Tek coating (bullet lube) bake yet. What spurred my 300 blackout brass, was moving my 3D printer out of the way; on the desk I usually use to throw powder. I've had my scale and chargemaster under that garbage bag for way too long, protecting them from dust. I often mill wood, aluminum, steel, plastic; or whatever else right next to it. There is a "splash" guard; but no sense clogging them up internally with those airborne contaminants. Sad shadows in the image from this angle; I still need to find an overhead light to mount inside the shelf I built from Home Depot cull lumber (70% off is no joke). Even if I estimate high; the whole 16" tall * 30" * 24" platform cost less than $4 in lumber, and the screws might have cost $0.50 (probably closer to $3.50 in reality). Very old 3D printer up top, which is very nice to have at at a standing height. Weigh station (mostly under wraps) with some laser cut experiments down below. Still have to finish wiring those MEMS gyroscopes; which are next to impossible to spot down there. And no sense unwrapping the weigh station until I'm ready to move and re-level everything. Have a lot of freshly processed brass (many types) waiting in the wings. Just need to finish up a hair bit of dirty work around here before I start dumping charges again. About to convert to tumbling brass with SS pins for all future washing; but most everything I have on hand is clean, and ready to load at this point. The shelf took about an hour to design, cut; and assemble. Just needed a ruler, a pencil; saw, and screwdriver.

Finally returned to processing 300 blackout brass. I had gotten blisters in the past from trying to do too many in a single day (using a handheld Lee chamfer tool). The Lee quick trim's hand crank tool is also quite tedious on longer brass; but making progress none the less. I will almost certainly pickup a power trimmer at some point; but I might as well wear out this cutter first. I only finished about 100 cases in the past 24 hours; all of which had significant prep already completed. Started working towards casting projectiles for everything I shoot. The #4 shot is very new in that process for me, but I wanted a more reliable way to produce shells when gun stores are closed (and of course Wal-Mart's stock cleared out real fast once shutdown orders were in place). The other's are test castings (all will be melted back down due to defects) of new .224 50 grain, .309 120 grain, and .312 185 grain molds. The .224s in particular need to be poured hot and fast; but so does the #4 shot. The .312 185s could be resized to .309 easily enough; but I'm still curious how they will fare in a 7.62x39. I have some .312 174 grain FMJ that I'll be trying first before I commit to anything there. Those heavies in 7.62x39 are not the most common recipe; but not unheard of either.

I've been robbed as well. No doubt. But this specific element is not a payback in any way... I'd feel shorted if I ever tried to cash it.
-
I was thinking in a similar vein. Not sure how it gets handed backwards though... Feeding those Dems in NY is just another handout from what I can see. I thought it might be more valuable slabbed as a collectable; and graded by the NGC. This is one check your ass didn't cash.

Shorter link: https://videos.recoilweb.com/watch/channel/industry-short-films/Z6s82ALpTgiI-recoil-live-state-of-the-gun-industry Zero gun stores are open in NY state.

Right now, in NY state, an unemployed SINGLE PERSON can be pulling down a bit over $4K per month. NY pays up to about $550 a week for unemployment; and the federal government is kicking in another $600 a week for few months. It's tough to believe that want to keep adding to those giveaways; but we've already dug in this far without any time-table for the return to work here... People here are receiving direct deposit payments from what I've heard. I saw a very long line outside the Best Buy where they do curbside pickup. I guess a lot of people want new electronics with their "free money". Gun stores all remain closed by mandate in NY, so there are no lines to monitor in that respect.
-
Wait; what? My grandma said you had to do that by hand...
-
I'm in the same boat now. Pretty sure I'll just build that setup; and use a 5 gallon plastic pail... But that's just want I wanted to know (and I didn't even know I wanted to know that). No sense messing around with small barrels or black rubber. Get it all done all at once; and probably pay even less in the end. Would not be hard to belt up a lathe motor to run a bucket slow enough.

I've cleaned all my cases by hand other than the regular bulk washing to clean off the funk. It's not fast; but I've not ever loaded a broken brass shell either. Each one gets individual attention in the process. Still curious if rubber tumbler barrels (and there are TONS of types of rubber) will wear and contaminate brass in a bad way. Especially with pins; it could scrape off and skank up the mix. I really do not know; one way or the other on that issue... Many rock tumbler barrels are black rubber. I've not tried vibratory at all. I have a number of roller tumbling options though.
-
One can buy a cheap tumbler from harbor freight for $58 or so. It's not setup like that (with under roller driver) from what I can tell. Just plain barrels can be $20-$40+ each; depending on where you purchase them. Not even sure if rubber is a good idea with pins and brass; I use plastic barrels for all my metal work. Never actually tumbled brass myself, so I would be interested to hear any thoughts about that in particular... I actually have a whole bag of SS pins on hand that I sorted out of mixed shot; since I explicitly DON'T use pins in my other burnishing processes.
