The 8 inch I have I used on a 16” barrel with front sight base gas block. The orig barrel nut was a little less refined than current models and galled up the screw so I had to use a dremel to get it out. Cut a groove in the screw head to allow extraction. Left a blemish on the guard. Still usable but needs touch up paint to hide it. Figured that was better than drilling a larger hole in the guard and barrel nut. I’m liking the 10.5” pencil barrel idea.

I do too. I have a couple alg hand guards. I need to figure out something to use this 8” key mod on.

Instructions prob just said tighten with Allen wrench. Just don’t gorilla it and you should be gtg. Keep eye on it for looseness and don’t worry too much about it.

Lots of lube. More than you think should be there. Lube it till you think it’s too much then add more.

I have a big mouth so gray man doesn’t fit for me. I like the concept though.

I went with a tailhook mod2 on my 375 socom build. I like it. Rigid not flexible and no strap to contend with. I considered the sba3/4 when looking.
