  2. ... seen something REALLY REALLY TERRIBLY wrong and laughed yourself sick about it? Brace yourself....
  3. Too much information! crom.a.boo, I recommend you beat him until he watches what he's saying!!! <laughs> ;)
  4. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit... <laughs> <lmao> You really should post the pics here though, I doubt you'd be harassed by this fine community of understanding & kind people. ;)
  5. Welcome to the forums! We deeply appreciate anyone who puts up with edgecrusher... <munch> <thumbsup>
  6. To address your issues in the order you listed them: #1. There is nothing wrong with a disclaimer that makes clear that a member here wants to have a reasonable conversation, not an argument. The fact that such a disclaimer is present makes it easier for the Mods to clean up such threads for the sake of all involved. #2. Ignoring the appropriate people should be a function of a healthy attitude and mindset, not something that a forum provides for you because you are unwilling. You will find that the grand majority of our membership has gotten along fantastically despite their differences for quite some time without an ignore button, and if you can't live without it, chances are you won't be happy here. Please do not confuse this simple fact with an ultimatum. #3. Rhetoric makes for a fantastic argument, facts change perspectives. You're welcome to use rhetoric if you like, but if you really want to change someone's mind, I'm betting that you'll find plain facts much more useful. #4. I'm pretty sure that anyone who would abandon you as a friend because of your political stance, was never truly your friend in any case. #5. I respect your decision to avoid political discussion amongst friends and peers, I see the wisdom therein and my personal preference is much the same. My own experience has been that most arguments come down much more to differences of perspective than differences of principle. The problem is usually one of pride ie. "My perspective is more important than yours.."
  7. I think the absence of petty political bickering led someone to believe that we have a strict "no politics" rule, like a few other popular shooting forums. Just to clarify, political discussion isn't discouraged here, we just want people to act their age when the topic is political.
  8. My long lost brother!!!! <laughs> It's a lifestyle for me! <dontknow>
  9. Welcome to the forums! I'm always happy to see yet another NC member show up. ;D
  10. Welcome to the forums!
  11. There ya go! If Toby is pro-gun, I am pro-Toby!
  12. Toby is the dog every sheepdog wants to be!
  13. Thanks for the link, I was posting from my phone and didn't have time to google my facts straight. On the other hand, anyone that had braced themselves for that $75 was pleasantly surprised! <thumbsup>
  14. This line creepily reminds me of 'Silence of the Lambs' somehow. "IT PUTS THE LOTION ON IT'S HANDS OR ELSE IT GETS THE HOSE AGAIN!!!!" <lmao>
  15. Monolithic receivers, the practical man's answer to receiver height issues! ;)
  16. I love the tilted head, as if to say "WHERE DID THAT CAMERA COME FROM?" Poor fella is a real trooper! Hope he at least got a treat for the sake of his dignity.... :P
  17. After I get home from the range on the weekend, there will be pictures of a clean Young Mfg BC for you fellers.
  18. I think he only needs the trigger assembly, if i'm not mistaken...
  19. My name is Matt Cross, and I approve of this article! ;D
  20. Welcome to the forums! I don't know too much about BUIS. As for your trigger, if you're on a tight budget, Bill Springfield is legendary for his ability to fix a crappy AR trigger. Last I heard it was only $75 and shipping for a trigger job, and that comes out way cheaper than an aftermarket trigger.
  21. I ordered the 416SS bolt, which is an upgrade from their standard bolt material, which I cannot recall at the moment. I could tell you if their web store wasn't closed. To answer your question, my bolt carrier IS stainless.
  22. Welcome to the forums Herc, we can always use another plane steerer around here!
  23. I pretty much concur, with the exception of stating that weight loss is weight loss, no matter it's significance. However, if I were going to have a finished barrel fluted, I'd also have it cryo-treated to be sure it was stress-relieved.
  24. It is beastly, it looks like I'll be able to shoot this weekend, so I'm going to swap it out for the Young Mfg carrier in Goldilocks(MA TEN) and test it out.
  25. SI Defense Bolt Carrier ...and as promised, gratuitous hand porn. Please be sure to stop BEFORE you get raw.
