  1. 1:10 will stabilize anything, but after 300-400 yards lighter stuff will fall apart accuracy wise. The slower twist will keep the lighter stuff together out to about 500 yards and after that it'll be iffy.
  2. Simply put, the reason is that those two twists suffice to stabilize a broad range of bullet weights without compromising anything. I prefer the 1:10 twist for stabilizing the heavier bullets at long ranges. The faster twist makes lighter bullets act more erratic sooner, but I don't shoot lighter bullets so it's not an issue.
  3. That's fair enough IMHO.
  4. Woo woo! Sexy!
  5. Sig Sauer Kilo 3000BDX binoculars and a Kestrel 5700 weather meter.
  6. When hand drilling the wood shaving indicate that you've gone far enough, basically preventing drilling a divot in the bottom of the bore. It is certain that a burr will be left at the bottom of the hole, but the first shot afterwards will expedite it's removal.
  7. There's no need to ream it, drilling will suffice. People drill them by hand with a wooden dowel in the bore, a mill will make it 10x easier.
  8. I'm out on the Southwestern side of NC if you end up needing help in person.
  9. Welcome to the forum!
  10. I'm not falling victim to the rule!
  11. Just out of curiosity, why the 18" rather than the 16"?
  12. I don't know, but covering up the Adam's Apple with a scarf was brilliant!
  13. Only if you're stone deaf, which you might be after Ron empties a mag or so.
  14. The MA TEN is definitely not small frame.
  15. Welcome from NC! What's your intended use? What kind of distances will you be shooting? Do you buy "cheap" ammo exclusively? These are some questions that could help us help you.
  16. Welcome from NC! What part of WV? I used to work down on the KY border near Matewan.
  17. I bust your balls about it, but I'd probably do the same if I were in your shoes.
  18. CA compliant guns of course, but guns nonetheless!!!
  19. Exactly. Make the best of everything within your own domain.
  20. No doubt in my mind we've moved far beyond the mark our kids, grandkids, or even great-grandkids will be responsible for paying. We're not headed for any pay-off, we're headed towards a buy-out. It sounds crazy, but it's no crazier than the decisions that have brought us to this point nationally.
  21. I just wanted to come in here and express my love and appreciation for all the handout accepting bums in this country who finally got Uncle Sam to buy me a new MRAD, and ya'll are downing them!
  22. Ehrmagerd!
  23. Those two remaining screws are for wedging the rear of the handguard open so it can be pulled off the receiver. Tighten both screws a half turn in tandem until the handguard can be pulled away from the receiver.
