  2. Jon, "On Killing" and "On Combat" are two of the most informative books I've read.
  3. Outstanding! Please tell him we're all proud of him!
  4. Ok, that's too cool. I want one.
  5. 29 dead last I heard. Absolutely horrible.
  6. Next time I get out to the silhouette range, I will try a few drills with different holds.

    hi from nj

    Hello and welcome
  8. I've been reading chatter about this, and I've tried it in some off-hand shooting with my .22's to see how it feels. I can appreciate the functionality of the theory that the farther out your grip is, the more control you have. I'm not sure that this is all that comfortable of a hold, at least not when I wrap my thumb up over the top of the forend. I do, however, like the way my Magpul angled foregrips feel. Some say fad, some say innovation. Thoughts?
  9. Thanks Jon, for starting this thread!
  10. Good find. How is it you ended up even looking in the gas tube?
  11. I see them at every local gun show I go to, not sure of your availability to those.
  12. Wow, scary bro! Real glad it was a non-event.
  13. Who?
  14. +1, I used an attorney.
  15. I had an XD-40 but got completely out of that caliber. I really like the pistol though, so I bought it again, an XD-9, love it. Last week a guy at work said he was going to sell his XDm-45, I bought it from him for $500. I think they're a great pistol.
  16. Welcome fellow Texan!
  17. Anything you want to share is welcome! <thumbsup>
  18. Final elimination round loss (I'm right lane). I beat him in the index, he beat me at the tree... >:(
  19. Since the new company (Energy Transfer) came and bought us (Southern Union) for 6 billion dollars, it's been crazy as hell. We're working like dogs, bringing on contract staff for extra support like crazy. The talent pool in Houston is tapped, since there is SO MUCH WORK available here.
  20. I do hate to get schooled at the tree! What's worse is the final race was with a Dodge Daytona truck, so I had to wait to take off. I hate being the faster car in brackets, I'd rather be chased than do the chasing. I should have loaded the back of the truck! I was on Hoosier drag slicks and was spinning like a demon at the line, even after burning them down in the box. It is indeed a Lightning. It's my second one, I had a 2000 model that I raced a bunch, it was faster than this 2003 I have now. I'm pushing 14psi in this current truck.
  21. It was a company-sponsored event at San Antonio Raceway in Seguin, TX. We had ten drivers, raced bracket style, employees sold raffle tickets for donated prizes and we raised $7,240 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I won my first three elimination rounds to make my way to the final, then the other guy schooled me at the tree. So, I ended up with second place. Nt bad since I hadn't raced in about five years. Here is a test-n-tune run, I'm in the gray Lightning truck.
  22. Sorry bro, took them back.
  23. <lmao> Thanks buddy! For the time being, and since it was laying around, I mounted my Bushnell Trophy scope on it.
  24. I've watched these guys for quite a while now, they've put out some cool concepts, but nothing I've felt the urge to buy. They're based just north of Houston, in the Woodlands.
  25. I picked one of these up today in .270 Win., looking forward to getting some blood on it next month in South Texas.
