So I’m getting closer to “family vacation” time of the year again. The wife wants to visit The Happiest Place on Earth... which is an issue for me, because they don’t allow CCW’s... not even for cops! then I saw this... I have a 64oz metal water bottle that this would fold into VERY nicely. Drop it in a plastic bag, drop the bag in the bottle, and fill the bottle with water. Enjoy the park like an American.

I retract my last statement. After further investigation, it looks like an airbag is actually a combustion of explosive gases.
-
Rigging an air bag to deploy does not meet the definition of building an explosive device... charges will be dropped.

Not gonna lie... I swore I owned one, but can’t find it. I’ve been wracking my brain on if I sold it or loaned it?? I have a .223 version, so I may not have grabbed the 308.
-
Started looking through JUST my .308 bolt rifles... so I opened up my safe... • Two Remington 700’s • Remington Model 7 • Ruger GSR M77 • Mossberg 4x4 • Browning A-Bolt my collection of .223 bolt action rifles is almost as extensive. While those are the only calibers I have, they are definitely the most prolific. I guess when you find something that works, you just stick with it. Definitely not done! There’s always something new I want.... like the new model 700 pistol!!!

PS. The PSA PA-10 Gen2 is NOT a DPMS GenII. This thread was started (4 years ago!) about the DPMS GenII which is a completely different format 308AR. There are very few compatible parts that will interchange from the GenII into any other format 308AR. Your PA-10 is a DPMS LR308 compatible build, and should have an Aramalite AR-10 length receiver extension (buffer tube). Your SCC is not pushing hard enough on the rear of the carrier when it is closed. Just shrink up that space. There is a LOT of information here about us unfucking the PSA PA-10. Search through and you'll see a wealth of information. It all comes down to the buffer assembly not being appropriate for the rest of the rifle.

Yeah, sometimes little gems pop out like that.

Any rifle that is sub 2 MOA, and shoots 100% of the time, is a keeper in my book. What are you trying to do to it? The only “compatibility” issues that you might run into you would be if you wanted to switch bolts (which I never suggest) or a handguard, due to varying barrel nut threads and upper receiver heights. Triggers should all be standard ER format. A new buffer assembly would be based on whatever receiver extension you currently have installed, or want to install. If you’re trying to cut weight, the fastest way is through the barrel. A new barrel would most definitely include a new bolt, which would likely alleviate any compatibility issues. Gas blocks and muzzle devices are all pretty self-explanatory. If it’s a handguard you’re looking for, just measure the tab above the charging handle slot to determine rail height, then contact DM for their thread pitch (armalite vs DPMS). It’s a lot simpler now than it used to be. I like to think this website is responsible for a good portion of that. The industry seems to be unfucking itself

So Trump announced at the NRA show that he was going to tell the UN to shove it… What does that mean for us? Norinco imports again? 5.45x39?? 5.8x45??? i honestly don’t remember what was on the treaty, I just like us reminding Europe that we’ve been saying to fuq off since 1776!! ps. I still want a Norinco M305A in 7.62x39!!!

I’m a big fan of Elite Survival bags. I have an “Assault Systems” M4 and an “Assault Systems” SMG bag. I’ve been using the M4 bag for almost 20 years. I bought the SMG bag for a pistol build. They are a bit pricier than some, but they last through some HARD use. https://www.elitesurvival.com/assault-systems/

I can honestly see the argument that some Americans just got plan rebellious about killing other Americans. The South declaring Confederacy was not a take over. They were already there. It was there home. The Union attacked the south and descended on them. The north had to psychologically prepare their soldiers to be killers and warriors. When they left their homes, it was because they were conditioned to be soldiers. The confederate army didn’t have they preparation nor the mental preparedness. They were walking out of their house and fighting in their own backyards. If you have to march 200 miles, with someone telling you every day that you’re going to have to kill someone, eventually that starts to sound like a good idea. If you wake up one morning and someone tells you to go outside and kill someone... well that takes a little more convincing. Im not defending or supporting one side of the mason/Dixon line over the other. I’m just pointing out how much war sucks. Civil War = 100% American casualties

I wrote about this several years ago. Russian military ammo has recessed primers for storage reasons. They aren’t deep, but just below the surface level. They are also made from the same mild steel as the casing. There were a couple “fixes” that I explained for this; 1. There are 7.62x39 specific firing pins that are about .005” longer at the tip... or, 2. Use a standard firing pin and just run a flat file (lightly) over the rear of the bolt. This will also allow the extra .005” depth. Most companies that sell preassembled uppers have figured this out, and use one of the two options if you’re building your own, you just have to measure your bolt before you put in a firing pin, or ask the mfger if you require a standard pin or a “x39” pin When building a x39 rifle, the builder should use a stronger hammer spring in their FCG. Personally, I suggest a Hyperfire trigger, with their x39 spring kit. It’s an infallible combo.

Especially since we were looking at that PRI site recently.

That's the God's honest Truth right there. These sell for $150 new, and even then they are still hard to come by.I still have that stash of old Colt barrels that need a home. I think this needs a 16" HBAR???
-
I’ll grab that third one. No fucking clue what I’ll do with it, but I’ve always wanted one.
-
@Czgunner, those pins are about $15. You won’t be missing any meals if it doesn’t work... in fact, I want to see one up close. If you buy it, and it doesn’t fit, I’ll buy it off you. There you have it. A risk free trial.

Our guy here is asking if a POF can pin will work with his PWS rifle. Greg is the only other PWS I can think of off the top of my head, that also owns a standard rifle. The POF roller cam was designed to replace a standard cam pin. If Greg can compare his PWS against his Larue, then he will be able to say whether or not they are the same.
-
@edgecrusher is the only active member I know that owns a standard 308AR and a PWS. He’s the best person to ask about comparing cam pins.
-
It was designed to replace a standard Cam pin. If you have a standard pin, it is compatible.
-
It’s amazing what $85 million will buy you.
-
It’s all about inventory stock numbers.

The GP is only a 6 shooter. I already have at least 12 of those. I want an 8-shot revolver. My addiction to the .45 is the only reason I’m considering another six shooter. Truth be told, I am heavily leaning towards the 357. I doubt I’ll buy another 45 anytime soon. I would say at least half my arsenal is chambered in a 45 caliber cartridge… 45 LC, 45 ACP, 45–70, 45-90 (had a 45-120 for a short minute, but it’s gone)... I even owned a 45 GAP at one point.

Everything is doable... there’s a tool designed for every project... and not all CF is created equal. my best advice it to call PRI and talk to someone. I have been a regular shopper with them for years. I will attests to the extremely high quality of their parts. Some here may consider me a bit of an elitist or a gun snob. PRI makes legitimate battle proven parts. I will put my reputation on the line in support of their product.
