It should. It's all about parts compatibility at that point. In theory, if the gas tube fits, it should work. I'm waiting for some entrepreneur to make a 13.7" with a micro gas block at the rifle length, then permanently cap it with a KX5. WarSport got a 12" 5.56 barrel to fire with a mid length gas.

The barrel nut may be different, but the receiver is still standard threads. Just rip off the old barrel nut and replace with the barrel nut of your choosing. Most new hand guards come with a barrel nut anyways. What are you thinking about going to?
