  1. I have two 5-gallon buckets full of brass.
  2. Get ready Bubba. I think I just scored a few thousand .223 brass.
  3. Magnums belong in handguns, not auto rifles. I've killed darn near everything imaginable with the .308 and thus can't justify "more" bullet.
  4. Or be the first one here to make a 358 Win. The nice part about the 338 Fed and the 358 Win, they both use 308 brass. That means you can use lots of standard 308 parts
  5. 338 Federal.... Win!
  6. Only if it's dirty... really DURTY!!!!
  7. I'm working on Bubba for reloads. I told him I'd supply brass and dies if he loaded them up for me.
  8. I keep voting. #629
  9. I was tempted to go this route again. I was looking at shooting something cheaper to feed. I really wish 300Blk would become a bit more popular. I hate hunting to find a good deal on ammo. That
  10. This video will require a bit of eediting. I'm sure a second day of shooting will exist and be added to the video. 98, if you want to mail those out, I'll receive them and make sure they get back to you.
  11. So recently (with a positive climate change at my department) I started working towards a pistol build. This will likely be my new "throw in a bag and carry around town" gun. I couldn't go with off-the-shelf or even mainstream. I always have to be a little off. Originally I was thinking about a 7.5" wrapped with a VLTOR CASV-M and a KX3 on the end... then I decided I wwanted to go crazy and build a shorty 7.62x39. As some of you may know, I hate cleaning my guns. Building a 7.62x39 was the perfect excuse to build another piston system. At first I just tried to get a PWS Diablo, but it looks like PWS has dried up anything relating to that caliber. I couldn't even build it from their parts. My second option was either an AA piston or an Osprey piston. Osprey doesn't have quite the history or fan base backing, and it's crazy expensive. So it looks like another AA kit is in my future. I really would like to find a NiB coated bolt while I'm going this "clean" route. Finding a barrel is getting to be a PITA too. Lots of barrels available, but they are all HBARs. I'm still holding out for a Med to LW contour, 1:10 twist with pistol length gas and 5/8x24 threads. Preferably melonite treated, but would settle for chrome lined. Since I'm pretty stuck with the AA piston option, my most favorable option is the Samson Evolution 7" extended handguard. I like how the sides come around the gas block. I'm kind of stuck on muzzle devices right now. I thought about a KX3. I also like the PWS CQB. My more unique option would be an AAC muzzle brake with a "brake shield" installed around it.
  12. Glad to know that arm brace works well. I'm interested to know what the next generation of braces will bring. I'm slowly collecting pieces for my next build too. I'm thinking a 7.5" cannon is in my future. Looks like it's going to be a 7.62x39 build.
  13. We were wondering the sake thing. You guys have been amazing throughout thus whole processes

  15. I missed the part that it was two LIVE rounds. I'm feeling a little dumb now. +1 to what SS and Mike said. Check the mag fit too. Some mags fit in different lowers better. If there's too much "wiggle" room, you can run into issues.
  16. A local Sheriff Dept is retiring their line of Rem m700's. Their SWAT Snipers have opted for the LaRue OBR for their new generation Sniper Team. I was holding that info for later, when I had more details. The SWAT Sgt is flying to TX just to meet the Mfg and test the different options.
  17. You guys are great
  18. If I hadn't have built my rifle from the exact high end parts I wanted... I would've bought a LaRue
  19. Check out your extractor and the extractor spring. It could be a damage extractor, but it's likely just a crushed/compressed spring. Luckily, both fixes will only cost you a fee dollars. Shooting the steel case ammo in a rifle that's not 100% broken in can damage the extractor. The mil surp ammo can burn dirty and foul up the inside of the bolt, wearing out the spring. I managed the latter on my first 7.62x39 build.
  20. I agree. I have the 45° crank on all my rifles.
  21. Do you think ASA would modify an Adams Arms piston carrier? I started a new build and I think I'd like an ASA upper for it.
  22. +1  <thumbsup>
  23. Somebody got it! We just hit 500!!
