  1. I have a Badger latch... on my .22lr build... TacOps-1 on most everything else... I have a Gunfighter on one upper still, but only because it didn't have anything else and I ran out of TacOps-1's. I'm looking at two more rifles in the very near future, for the wife and I. Both will be for patrol use (she's LE also). They will most certainly both have TacOps-1 "CQB" handles.
  2. Just don't get too aggressive on the charging of the BCG. Those add-on pieces aren't designed to take the same kind of punishment that the above listed handles can. If you pull too hard/fast on a Franken-Charging handle, you could damage it pretty easily. Honestly, the TacOps-1 (through our group buy) is the BEST option available. Not only do I swear that it is probably the best product on the market... it's also the least expensive! By the time you buy a standard charging handle (about $20-$30 depending on when/where you buy it), and then add on the additional "tactical latch" (Another $15-$20) you are damn near the same price you would have spent on the TacOps-1.
  3. Could you imagine a 2000 fps copper slug? As fun as that would be, I'd still like to see a 185gr .45ACP
  4. I really like the idea. I'm waiting to see who buys one, and maybe a few more YouTube reviews. I'm very tempted.
  5. I heard as much as $2 ea.
  6. I found Tom's first post... looks like his initial introduction.
  7. I'm working on an AA piston system right now. I'm putting it on a 7.62x39 build. We'll see how this plays out.
  8. The 300Blk doesn't have the same amount of powder as the 5.56. The larger diameter.30 cal barrel also has more room for gas to expand. I have a carbine length 14.5" that runs great. I understand that shorter gas is better. The mid length systems just don't have enough pressure. I'll bet a pistol length system would work fine. Not this Californian Depends on the system. Adams Arms conversion kits have three settings; standard, suppressed and single shot.Osprey systems have one setting... shoot.
  9. I'll warn the piss outta you!
  10. +1 for the FireClean... I think that stuff was designed for NiB parts. I love it.
  11. I know one about a man from Nantucket. ..
  12. Only $30-$35 per pouch. That's not bad. http://www.regulationtactical.com/products/l-b-b-load-bearing-brackets#tab-6
  13. No such thing as "break in" for a LaRue. You literally pay so that you have to put in ZERO work on the rifle. A local SWAT program just outfitted their sniper team with LaRue OBR's. They were told the rifles were ready to go into service immediately. If there were any issues, to send the rifle back immediately. On day one, the bolts were ripping the rim off the casings. A phone call to LaRue, and 3 new bolts were in the mail that night. LaRue said they fine tuned the first bolts to be fired with Winchester ammo. The new bolts are designed to work with Federal. Flawless ever since.
  14. So Edgecrusher (a LaRue OBR owner) and I (a high end SI-D owner) both sat down and shot each others rifles. As you could have expected, we both liked our own rifle more... but they were each designed to fit US and only US. On the flip side, we both respected the hell out of the other rifle. I really like the OBR... After going through all the headache to build my rifle, I look back and think I would have changed my mind had I known what I was in for. Being finished with my rifle, there's no way I'd go back. As for a DPMS achieving OBR status... That's like saying, "Can my Nissan Frontier be as formidable as a Dodge 3500 turbo diesel?" Sure it can... You just have to replace EVERYTHING, and start over from scratch..... OK, I'm exaggerating. You could probably make a very close clone with either the RECON or the SASS versions... but expect to make some modifications.
  15. $695 on their website.... WHAT THE FUUUCK IS IT MADE OUT OF??? Did they have to melt down a NASA toilet seat for material?? Looks like I'm back to shopping for an Atlas.
  16. I was just watching their interview on YouTube, from SHOT. Their new cans look REALLY nice!
  17. I get rid of shiit on Ebay all the time. I always have a few bucks sitting in my PP account.... It usually gets eaten up recharging the wifes Starbucks card.
  18. It was just a suggestion if you hadn't tried it yet. I think you're in the right direction already, by checking the bolt assembly.
  19. All about Sabot rounds. Especially like those untraceable 77 grain grenades.
  20. Lol, When I said "off the shelf" I meant the LGS/WallyWorld shelf... I need factory loaded stuff. This is a work project.
  21. Is that a naked 80%er? Looks nice. Welcome
  22. TAP or SST. Trying to find a high velocity .30 cal that will fragment (lessening over penetration). Primarily looking for off the shelf loads, that can be bought in bulk lots. I think the Hornady 110 TAP is discontinued. It looks like they're investing more in the 125 SST now.
  23. Did you try running a chamber brush in a hand drill? Polish up that chamber a bit so the shells will extract easier. I don't suggest using any compounds, like Flitz. I really don't know if anything bad could happen from it, I just don't know what's in that stuff and what long term eexposure from it will do to a barrel.
  24. Anyone have experience launching lightweight stuff out of a .308AR? Specifically something like the Hornady 110 or 125 grain stuff. I'm more interested in the rounds ability to cycle the action reliably. I'm trying to build an argument, but it'd be moot if the rifle doesn't function properly. The lightest I've fired is 147gr NATO, and that seemed to function just fine. I may just buckle and buy a few boxes to see how they do.
