  1. Thread Jack.... Just a little 411.... 98Z5V lives very close to the actual "Dusk till Dawn" bar.
  2. And if you can't get a suppressor, they make some pretty slick comps and flash hiders for the .45's. The USP/Mk23 an G21 crowd made sure to popularize the parts. Check EFK and LWD for parts.
  3. My heart says a Springfield or a Sig 1911.... My nut sack says FNX 45!!! Man up and go big, or go home!!! I just saw the magazine floor plate mod for +3 rounds on the FNX... 18+1 in .45!!! Holy sheep shit Chang!
  4. The m77/17, that's the one I was thinking of! I don't know if there is such a thing as a 17/22... I think that was my sleep deprived brain trying to work faster than it can. I have had two m77/22's and I love that rifle. I've debated a m77/17 several times.
  5. I like the Ruger 17/22 Remington makes a model 700 too, but $$$.
  6. I have the Harris HBLMS 9"-13". I installed a sling swivel stud to my free float so I don't have to have an extra picatinny rail installed. While its not considered "QD", it sure is easy to remove and install. This ultra light model has the spring loaded legs and it swivels for moving shots.
  7. Welcome Phunk. If you clone that SI-D lower in your own, and you don't need it anymore, let me know. I was thinking of ordering the new Gen4 lower... In fact I just got off the phone with them. The price was right, but my timing isn't (new baby just arrived). When you do get the demensions done, I hope you join up with DEFCAD and add your design. More people like you would be greatly appreciated in the community!
  8. Trust in SI-D. They will make it right. Remind your buddy that perfection takes time.
  9. Baby hours are rediculous.
  10. For the record; My SI-D 2nd gen does NOT have that gap. In fact, the parts are machined so tightly together, they practically snapped closed/open when I first got it.
  11. I have a positive and a negative response to this. Pos: The gap shouldn't affect the function or accuracy of the rifle. Con: I wouldn't buy a pair of pants with one leg longer than the other. Sure it does the right function, but it looks bad. Nope! I'd be an unsatisfied customer. Email those pics with the gap back to SI-D. To me it looks like their upper take down hole needs to be adjusted.
  12. Hahaha
  13. I have a matched set coming for a friend soon. I'll see how it comes out... ... And I'll at least remember to post pictures!!
  14. My wife bought herself a Browning ball cap. She wears it to remind me she wants a Citori... She threatens to buy a Kimber hat next.
  15. I love it!
  16. Most double fires I see are from weak shoulders, not weak triggers. Check your stance, and grip. A solid shoulder a firm trigger finger will clean up that bounce.
  17. Pictures! WE NEED PICTURES!!! I love SI-D rifles. They don't make a LPK that I'm aware of. I'd question your buddy about where he got his LPK. Not knowing his level of experience personally, also make sure he got the .308 pins and not the AR15 pins.
  18. Lately, I've been on a healthy kick. Here is my sugar free, zero carb, high protein lunch. Mixed greens salad, 1 hard boiled egg (chopped), 1 can tuna (albacore), 1/4 avacado (sliced), ceasar dressing (0 sugar), salsa (for my Mexican tongue), chopped celery and carrots for flavor. If I still have some, I'll add some shredded cheese in there too. When I need to add carbs, I add a scoop of whole black beans. Yum! I lost almost 60# in 6 months eating like this.
  19. @mineralman55, That's a Troy/VTAC rail. Check out Troy Ind for more info.
  20. $700 spent between Brownells, MidwayUSA and RainierArms.... Something good comes this way...
  21. WAIT!!! Is this the guy that bought the CMMG LPK? If so, I take back everything I said before... I hate pointing out the obvious to those who say they built a gun with CMMG parts and now they are having issues. They get all pissed off when I point out the problem was THEY USED CMMG PARTS!!! Don't get me wrong. CMMG can be a decent product if purchased by 98Z5V, SurvivalShop, Jgun, MikeH, PlaneFlyer.... Or any of the other guys here who can actually build (not assemble) a gun. Not all parts get the 'Lego Certification' seal of approval, and they may require some modification to work properly. In my short experience i have come to believe that CMMG has the QC of a Pakistani sweat shop. I think all their products should say "some fitting my be required".
  22. 1/8" is a hell of a lot. Is there wobble between the upper and lower, or just a solid gap? Sounds to me like the pivot pin hole is out of spec on either the upper or the lower. If your buddy can send pictures, they always speak louder than words. Did he get the new gen4? Or is this an older model? I forget who makes it, I think JP or KNS, but there's a tensioning type pin that can be used to tighten that part up.
  23. It looks like an MI tube. Troy makes a modular tube for the .308. If you're looking for an AR15 tube; Noveske, Wilson Combat, Geissele, Troy, MI, Fortis, Rainier, Apex... All make modular tubes
  24. Ditto. I was at my friendly LGS and commented on the price of ammo. The owner advised the priced aren't up, they just aren't discounted any more. He has been under MSRP just to be competative. Now he is charging MSRP. ????? Fuck if I care, it's all to expensive to the guy who gets free ammo.
