  4. +1 for Tan over Brown
  5. I hear what you're saying, but... I've been a cop for 10 years in a pretty major California metropolis. We have about 20 agencies and over 1,200 LEO's here. In that time, I've only seen 1 LMT SOPMOD stock (and that guy is FAR from being considered an "operator"), and I've never seen a VLTOR on duty.... The rest are Magpul or old MilSpec M4 CAR stocks... You can call us Noobs and KoolAid drinkers, but we use what works. Magpul wouldn't be as successful as they are, if they weren't the best on the market. There are companies that come close. I'll even say some are equal. But I can't say there is a company that makes a better product.
  6. Is this the 'set screw' type gas block?
  7. I look forward to this <munch>
  8. 14.5" Dissipator.... You know you want to!'
  9. I should've mentioned that the RRA guys usually troll in pairs.... I'm sure the other one will poke his ugly mug up soon.

  11. The forgotten step-children from the RRA family are always poking their heads in to remind us they're still around. You just have to hit them with a stick till they crawl back into their holes.
  12. They are great handguards! <thumbsup> If you don't need to mount anything on a top rail, the MOE is perfect. It can still be fit with rail segments on the sides and bottom. I use a rifle length MOE on my 300blk and a mid length MOE on my Colt.
  13. So far I have the CTR, the ACS and the ACS-L (and a few others that are not Magpul) Personally, I think they all serve a purpose. If you need/want storage the ACS is a great stock. By far it is my favorite just for comfort. I use the storage on mine for all sorts of things. The CTR is nice for weight and ease of use. It can also be fitted with a cheek riser. As for the ASC-L, it fills the gap between the two for comfort and use.
  14. Yeah, they're good but I bet I'd beat them at Call of Duty!!
  15. I'd ride it!
  16. All I am reading is "blah blah blah, Robo needs to buy that damned FNX-45 already!" I hate you guys.
  17. I may be getting into another .308 build soon... I've been interested in that barrel forever!!!
  18. I thought they were discontinued, and replaced with mid length systems.
  19. I'll jump in on this... 1950 Merc Coupe 1970 El Camino SS 454ci Denim White Harley Electraglide with a blacked out engine
  20. You scored HUGE. <thumbsup> Way to go! Nice score.
  21. Edge and Rsquared are right. The buffer and muzzle device are far cheaper remedies in comparison to a custom barrel.
  22. That is sweet <thumbsup>
  23. SI-D is DPMS spec (I have a SI-D <thumbsup> ) Since you are using DPMS/KAC spec'd parts, the AR15 gas tubes should be fine. Carbine and Mid length tubes are generally all the same. The difference is the rifle length. Armalite tubes are about 1/4" longer than other rifle length tubes.
  24. My barrel is a custom Saturn barrel, done by Proof Research. If you can find someone that does Saturn or Rock barrel blanks, you can generally choose all your specs. They usually run $400-$600, and often come with a matched bolt. I think YM barrels can be ordered to spec as well. If you want accuracy AND portability, check out Proof Research's carbon fiber wrapped barrels. You'll get bull barrel performance with medium barrel weight. You'll spend a few more dollars... But it'll only be once!
  25. The .308 does have a shit ton of gas. The carbine gas allows a lot of gas to move through the action. This causes the action to move faster and with a lot more force than is needed. I'll bet a 16" medium or heavy barrel will do as good, if not better, than a 20" barrel with similar contour. You don't need to get a long barrel to have a rifle length gas system. Several guys here have 16" rifle length barrels. My barrel is 17" with a rifle length gas system. It works flawlessly.
