  1. Yes and no. Gen 3 mags are right side release only. If you switch your Gen 4 to be a left hand operated mag release, you have to use Gen 4 mags. Gen 4 mags work in all Gen 3 pistols.
  2. Insert jealous comment here Those were hard to find when they were made. That's a pretty sweet set up.
  3. I bought THESE for my 5.56 and my .308 rifles. My reasoning was simple. Due to the modifications I did to my rifles, I have to do complete receiver separation every time I need to do maintenance. My 5.56 has a CWS that locks everything up, and my .308 has a Law Tactical folding stock adapter. My price at Brownells was cheap enough for me to buy several sets. I don't think they are for everyone, but they work for me.
  4. Thanks Skg <thumbsup> I'm glad it worked out for you. We have no lack of Geissele fans here!
  5. I don't think the design is wrong. Even Ergo mentions that they were looking at new polymers to strengthen the stock. I feel Ergo is notorious for using Hasbro-ish GI Joe plastic. It's strong, but brittle. The bonus of the Magpul polymer is that it has a little flex to it. I really liked the M93/F93 design. I just think the product would have faired better under Magpul QC. If you can find the old M93 stocks, they run $$$$$!
  6. http://militarytimes.com/blogs/gearscout/2012/02/01/buttstock-bashfest-gearscout-finds-out-just-how-far-tough-talk-goes/
  7. Armalite mag catch could be funny on a DPMS. Unless you have an AR-10A kit, I can't guarantee the AR-10B fc mag catch will work. I have an AR-10A mag catch in my [DPMS style] rifle
  8. I-frames were the old S&W small fram revolvers. I think they only came in small rimmed cases, like .22lr and .32 I think the I-Frame was the first swing out cylinder too.
  9. Buy an FN5.7 for near the same price, and get 10x more gun! Ammo is even near the same price. My $0.02.... I'm just sayin.
  10. I didn't know the guy, but I definitely knew of him. Chris is a true American badass in every sense. Not just with his war stories, but also how he lived his everyday life. Normally I don't follow the Costa's or Vicker's of the world. I'm not interested in the celeb stuff. But I honestly looked up to Chris and all his accomplishments. This is truly a loss to everyone.
  11. And last... Glad he could be such a productive member to this site.
  12. The LaMat Revolver <thumbsup>
  13. I have a bottle of Mobile1 Extended Performance 5W30 that I use for pretty much everything. If you can find the Racing 0W50, I say get it!
  14. Current prices aren't going to even build a .308 for under $2k Receiver Set: $600+ BCG: $300 Stock Assembly: $300 LPK: $125 Sights: $125 Barrel Assembly: $400 Handguard: $200 And that's assuming you can find the parts. I don't want to be the harbinger of bad news, but sitting on your hands till now to buy a 308AR is going to cost you. If you want a realistic price, double your available budget. I'm seeing bare-bones/nothing-special rifles selling for $3k. The same rifles that were bought for $1200 last year are at a 200% mark up. $1500 might buy you someone's unfinished project, who is just looking for a way out of the backorder nightmare.
  15. Pictures speak louder than posts... What gas system (carbine, mid, rifle)? What barrel length? What gas block? Can you show us exactly where you believe the gas leak is at?
  16. My LGS has a Double Star stripped lower for $400 and a completed JD .308 with a bull barrel for $3200. Neither comes with mags.
  17. <laughs> <lmao> I laughed hard at that.
  18. I hate to keep saying it... but at the risk of sounding elitist... It's a [glow=red,2,300]CMMG [/glow] :puke:
  19. Check out ProofResearch.com They used to be called Jense Precision. They made my upper for me and it came out GREAT. If you call them up, ask to talk to Jeff. He is a hellofa guy <thumbsup> . They have a great staff there and work on a first name basis. I'm already trying to think of another rifle they can build me.
  20. Chip McCormick (CMC) Tactical Triggers! I have two of them, and love them!
  21. Primary Arm Micro Red Dot (w/ removable base) -Seekins Absolute Co-Witness base -x3 long eye relief magnifier -ADM swing away mount Not a bad deal!
  22. I'm holding my betting money until I've seen your youtube video.
  23. I 'stickied' this so it won't get lost in the depths of the threads. Please be courteous about downloads from the site. They are charged and regulated on the amount of bandwidth they use. If you don't need the manual immediately, it's best to refrain from multiple downloads. Better to have the resource available down the road. <thumbsup>
