That's too bad to hear. My family has one of the first .444's that came out about 15-20 years ago. It had a 20" barrel that was cut to 16". It ran flawless up till last weekend. My cousin said something internal went out.

I heard it doesn't work. Paint ball guns have an EXTREMELY light trigger due to the fact that it is really an electronic switch assembly more than it is a trigger. This monstrosity still has a several pound trigger it has to disengage. I can only imagine the horrendous trigger slapping that occurs when firing.

I can see/understand the added benefit for the PRS.... But that sure is a pricey add-on for an already heavy UBR. Tom has a similar attachment on an A2 stock. Very similar to a m110 style.

Only the DPMS tube is like that. There are other CF tubes that have normal installations. Loki and Christensen are two examples.

Unfortunately, you can't tap carbon fiber. If you were crafty and creative, you could tap a length of metal (steel is thinner) and use that as a backing for the mounting screws. It's just a matter drilling holes at the exact 12 o'clock. Lots of companies make extended rails; PRI and Apex are two off the top of my head.

Since destroying the current gas block is the best option. If you have an A2 style front sight gas block, use a rotary tool to cut off the top, and make your own low profile gas block. You can grind those down to be pretty damned small. Remove the gas tube roll pin, then slide the gas tube back. Next twist the tube to slide it completely out. Remove the barrel nut. It should pass the new low profile gas block. Separate the barrel nut from the delta ring. Reuse the barrel nut with an APEX CNC free float tube. Easy as pie

Is this the .308 predator or the .223 predator? When you say "jams", does that mean failure to eject or failure to feed? Are you double feeding? (I've never seen a double feed on a rifle, but I suppose it could happen?) RRA's are built to really solid. This is going to great later down the road, but sucks for a break in. Don't be afraid to hit the magazine followers with a bit of lube. The buffer can get a quick squirt too. Many of the guys here, myself included, soak our BCG's in Mobile1 full synthetic motor oil (5w40 for me). Wipe down with a rag after soaking for a few days. Go back to shooting like normal.
