  1. Do you agree that you could add about $300 in upgrades to make a FAR superior rifle, at the cost of a smaller profit margin? This is why I get so pissed.
  2. Troy makes a good rail, and generally I encourage them... But Daniel Defense makes GREAT rails. DD is expensive but worth it. As nice as Troy is, if you get a chance to fondle bot rails, you will notice/feel the difference with a DD. I have both rails, and love both. Target shooting, plinking, competition, arm-chair-commando... Troy is your rail. If your going into a "your life depends on your equipment" situation, go with the DD.
  3. You don't appear satisfied with your Colt. As a service to you, I will begrudgingly take it off your hands. Let me take on the burden of that rifle so that you no longer have to live with the pain of your purchase.
  4. Welcome to our little world. I'm also a CA resident (NorCal). If you have any questions about the "do's and don'ts" shoot me a PM and I'll give ya a straight answer. Reading the above, Jgun looks like he's right in the mark. Take off the pistol grip and install the takedown spring from there. Jguns plan for the pivot pin works well too.
  5. Did you get a drop of Travis Haley's blood yet?
  6. Their price is about $2150 My guess is no more than $1300
  7. I'm married to an Italian girl who owns lots of guns. If it gets worse than this, I want no part of it.
  8. I just looked at all my tubes, carbine and rifle. What frickin hole? The only stock I have with any sort of hole, is the A1... And that hole gets filled with a screw once you put the stock on. I don't understand "covering the hole". <dontknow>
  9. You have to call SI-D and NEMO on the phone. I don't know if they have store sites up right now.
  10. Huh? What vent hole? I don't think I've ever seen a hole on the stock that vents air. What stock are you using? Do you mean the exhaust ports on the side of the BCG? You would know if you were covering those.
  11. Fulton Armory, SI Defense and NEMO Arms all make a .308 BCG. have you checked Brownells, MidwayUSA and RainierArms already?
  12. Soft shoulder? Were they standing and shooting? Your son and AP might not be pulling the rifle in as tight. A weak shoulder/stance is the same as limp wristing an automatic pistol. Set them in a bench, and I bet the problem goes away. Not knowing their size, I'm just guessing they might not be big enough to shoot that rifle in a standing position.
  13. Just in case some joker, "Jack" off fan, gets upset that I shit on Travis Haley's new turd gun. Here's my work against the "Jack". Four separate builds, all with a shit ton more rifle for the cost. 14.5" Ambi 5.56 - heavy 14.5" Ambi 5.56 - med 14.5" Ambi 5.56 - lightweight 14.5" Ambi 300blk "Dissipator" But WTF do I know?! These are just "hobby rifles", right? Don't get me wrong here. Travis Haley is a real American badass! He's a hero and a budding legend (I think actual legend status should be posthumous). It would be my honor to stand in the same room with the guy, maybe get a chance to shake his hand and get to say "thank you" for everything he has done. It's because of how much I respect the guy that I am so pissed off about this "Jack" rifle. When I see rifles like the "Jack" I get sick. Just because a name is printed on the side it's the latest and greatest. At least when Costa did it, he used LaRue. Everyone already knew LaRue was great, Costa just agreed by building his rifle there. Where is the "Jack" superior? Is it more accurate? More reliable? Faster to shoot and reload? Kick less? Recoil less? Slice cheese? Wash toilets? Drive cars? Why should we be buying a Del-Ton with a fancy grey paint job for over $2,100? I don't know if I'm more upset about the rifle, or the foul stench of "sellout" coming from Haley's lockerroom.
  14. You're killing me. I can totally picture that story.
  15. LAME!!! I hate this shit. Some "Jack"off puts his name on a product, gets a decent write up, and a rifle using 5 year old technology and a fancy paint job is considered the latest and greatest.... And for the low low price of $2100!!!! Who are they selling this crap too! I just built a race gun with the same measurements that'll beat that JACK rifle into the dirt. I hate that companies release shit like this, thinking we're idiots and won't see past their fancy new grey paint job. This shit makes me want to start my own company so bad it's sickening.
  16. If you shoot, you will eventually have an accidental discharge. I've AD'd twice that I can remember. I thank God that nothing bad came of those. SS, glad you're back safe. How did you like using that Magpul furniture?
  17. That's the one I bought for my AR15. It works ok, but if I had it to do over again, I'd buy this one... HERE
  18. Slash is by FAR the most knowledgeable on buffer issues. If it's a buffer issue he'll be the guy with the answers. Is it possible that your parts are still too rough and causing friction? I used some 0000 steel wool to smooth out the inside of one of my upper receivers. I wrapped the tip of my power drill and spun it for a min or two. It made everything much smoother. Also, what oil are you using? How much of it did you use? What hammer spring are you using?
  19. That water printing adds the little bit of thickness to make things difficult. Don't be afraid of a little bit of "some fitting my be required". It looks great so far. I look forward to the rest <thumbsup>
  20. I have a LOKI 300blk barrel. This thing is magnificent! 14.7" 1:10 twist, with full barrel fluting. All stainless steel with melonite coating. I capped mine with a BattleComp BABC for the +16" OAL. I'm sure I have pictures of it on the board somewhere.
  21. You can try the JP LMOS system. That usually requires an adjustable gas block, LMOS carrier and LMOS buffer. You can also try using a Tubb Chrome Silicone Flat Spring. This is probably the cheaper of the two choices.
  22. I have a RRA Operator A2 stock (FDE) assembly I need to get rid of. I'll probably post it later. It has several sling attachment points on it.
  23. Win the lotto, buy a CNC machine, never have to "buy" another lower ever again!!
  24. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1AR57SL&name=AR57+AR+FIFTEEN+Multi.+Cal.+AR+Lower+Receiver&groupid=6 As low as $75 each
