  1. I just won a handful of these from a local shop. The kid working the counter said they 168gr. ???? <dontknow> ????
  2. If you had ordered from "Joe's Fish Chips and Rifle Barrels" then I'd say double check. Seeing that you ordered a new barrel from JP Rifles (which all ship directly from the factory, no matter where you buy it) I wouldn't worry much about fit and function. JP is a top tier company.
  3. Husq's are no joke, GREAT machines. 12+ HP is badass!! My first dirt bike wasn't that powerful. It will really turn the task into a 5 min job, no matter how bad the snow. You could have a nice little side business that would compensate your guns fund. All you need is a few neighbors to pitch in. Especially coming home from your regular night shift.
  4. If you're looking to make a quick flip on that after he forfeits, keep me in mind. <thumbsup>
  5. Polish up the threads on both ends with a rotary. Use the steel brush wheel to clean up both surfaces. Everyone knows what cross threading feels like. If it feels like that, search out a new muzzle device.
  6. I step away for a few minutes and my fat ass get drug out and smeared... I couldn't even defend my own reputation here <lmao> TomAss, glad to have you back in one piece. Sorry I couldn't make it. Looks like that week provided a lifetime of stories. You better believe Jen and my bloody vagina are ready to play.
  7. The gaps were only on the Magpul MIAD grip, where the backstrap attached to the main grip. The MOE+ is my favorite grip. Screw or no screw... It's only required for the above reason. If you're not using the MIAD, then it's just personal preference. It won't hurt either way.
  8. W/E... I just want my Remington ACR PDW! I refuse to put any gear in my saddle bag hoping an SBR mysteriously shows up in there.
  9. There's more to SnipersHide than their scope auction? <dontknow> <lmao>
  10. I have a Winchester M1 Carbine and another made by Singer Sewing Machine Co. I had a Rock-Ola (Jukebox) Mfg M1 Carbine cross my path, but it's long gone. I love those old beasts. A buddy of mine inherited one. He put on a synthetic stock, front rail and red dot. Then painted the whole thing FDE. I call it the "Baby Scout". It's so cute. Just like a real Scout... Only smaller :P
  11. Whats the pawn on something like that? I'm cringing at the thought of what he took for it.
  12. How else would you get the paint off? Toss the plastic parts in the garbage. Mineral Spirits are petroleum based and will probably eat those parts right up. Your metal is going to be very exposed and dry afterwards. You will need to do a thorough lube and grease afterwards of EVERYTHING. Otherwise Mr Rust is going to pay a BIG visit on your rifle. if you decide to paint it after, just use a degreaser with a scotchbrite pad to get it naked and scuffed up, and then paint away.
  13. BINGO! Brownells "Black Rifle Friday" 10% off <thumbsup>
  14. No... He was more of a .223 and 40mm fan. :P <lmao>
  15. No. Normally a military style post has 4 adjustment points, every 90 degrees. This post has 8, every 45 degrees. The top of the post spins freely from the bottom. You adjust the bottom for elevation, then spin and lock the top for line of sight. They both lock into place from the same detent, which has a longer than standard detent nipple.
  16. That looks like a lot of long range fun times ahead!
  17. That's a good company addition! You might have to cut your detent spring (I did) to fit. They aren't designed to be that compressed. I think I cut 4 or 5 rings off the bottom to lighten it. There's no exact science, just use common sense. Assemble it, push the spring in as far as you can with your finger, then cut just above the hole so that just a little bit sticks out. Press the set screw into place and screw that lil bastard in. <thumbsup>
  18. My father just lost his retiree health insurance benefits. +40 years of law enforcement and now he pays over $1k a month to keep him and the ol' lady in good health. He still has his pension, but health/eyes/dental comes out of his pocket now.
  19. Tony Montana?
  20. On .308's the take down detent and spring are under the pistol grip. The Magpul MIAD has some fit issues due to the extra gaps in their design. The spring can fall through those gaps and the detent fails to push against the takedown pin. Some have remedied this by putting a set screw into that hole and locking the spring into place.
  21. My only complaint about the Magpul MBUS sights has always been the front sight post. On my .308 I swapped out for a Trijicon tritium post (See that thread HERE ). I realized quickly that was a waste as I don't shoot at night, and tritium doesn't do much for me during the day. Based on online reviews, I tempted fate, and purchased a Mounting Solutions Plus "Sightlink" fiber optic front sight post. I guess I was lucky with the Trijicon post as that was a simple drop in part... Not so with the Sightlink! While it is threaded the same, that is where similarities end. 1. Sightlink requires it's own front sight detent. 2. Above said detent does not fit in a Magpul MBUS, which uses a special polymer detent. 3. God's greatest gift, after fire, was the dremmel! I will not be deterred! Sorry I didn't take pictures as I worked. First I had to create a detent hole. I dropped in the rotary tool and made a perfect fit. Next, I fount the detent was too long for the hole and I couldn't adjust the sight post down far enough. Again I went to the rotary and I cut about 25% off the bottom of the detent. I cleaned up the edges and it fit perfectly. Last was the grueling labor part. The nipple on the detent was out of alignment due to space confinement on the sight. I couldn't move the detent any further without risking the integrity of the sidewall. Using a small file, I carefully took off about 1/3 of the detent nipple, creating an offset nipple. This was painstaking work as I filed, check for fit, filed, check for fit, filed..... Eventually I was able to make a perfect fit and I am ecstatic about the results! A little more about this sight post. This is the "Match Grade" sight. It is considerably thinner than the mil post. It also has 8 adjustment points instead of 4. The top and bottom of the post spin freely from each other so that the fiber optic can be aligned with your line of sight. This sight also comes with replacement fiber. I have two 4" strands of fiber (one in red and one in green) that I can use to replace. Simply push it out with a pin, slide in a new one, then hit one end with a lighter to secure it in place. So far it looks really good, and is a hell of a lot brighter during the day!
  22. My next purchase will be a 37mm to 12g adapter, so I can shoot the cheaper flares.
  23. Why do I need this?!? Spikes Tactical "Havoc" - 9" 37mm launcher
  24.  <munch>
  25. .338 Lapua Mag and .416 Barrett for me. No BMG fun for this California kid.
