I assume you meant inches and not ounces. That should still add about 2.3” to a barrel. Looks good enough for most any >/= 13.7” OAL barrel build.

That looks like a possible 13.7” option. Definitely a 14.5” option.

I bought a Rem700 in .260 several years ago. It came with 4 or 5 boxes of hornady ammo. After blasting through the ammo, I had a helluva time finding it again. Sold it for what I had into it and went back to .308 rifles.

My buddy bought the CompMag. He likes it, but it sticks out further than a 30rd mag. He has issues fitting it in a standard rifle case/bag. I met the “inventor” in Reno. He’s a cool guy, but has absolutely ZERO advertising. It’s a solid product. He definitely invested wisely on the fabrication. It’s 1000x better than some of th other options. Especially the 3D printed options.

Why not drill it and put a plate across the gap? The holes can be sealed with a gasket. Then apply the same sealant measures over the crack just as before.

As long as your buffer measures approx 5-1/4” you should be fine. I recently learned that buffer size isn’t an exact science. The platform allows you a certain measure of tolerance. With no MilSpec .308 out there, no two companies make an exact copy of the others. Two buffers can be the exact same measurements, but the material used for the rubber bumper could be significantly different. A soft nub vs a hard nub could be as much as a 1/2” of compression difference. Building a “Franken308” can be a game of trial and error.

I'm actually surprised by LuthAR.... No vent in their stock screw?? Read the description. OP, you still need a much shorter screw. The pic you provided has two screws that are MUCH larger than the LuthAR screw

He only bought the rifle length receiver extension and buffer assembly from CTD. He said he bought the LuthAR MBA-1 directly from LuthAR.

FWIW.... I'm still calling foul on the CMMG bolt catch (as well as every other CMMG part).

I just watched about 45 mins of LuthAR stock installation videos... It looks like the stock was actually built to fit the A1, and not the extended A2. I did not see a single LuthAR installed with a 5/8" spacer. The stock "should" have come with it's own vented screw. You shouldn't have to search one out.

Gawdam right!!! Every time the “unexplainable issue” arises, the four-letter word is soon to follow. I swear to God, when I’m king of the world, I’m banning CMM-fuckin-G lower parts kits. The company is run by donkeys and the parts are made by apes. I don’t want to upset you, but pull out every pin, spring and lever made by CMMG. I don’t know if it’s bad metal, poor machining, evil voodoo magic or a combination of all three. I’ve seen CMMG grip screws fuck up a build. There are a few guys here that use CMMG parts reliably. They are far from what I consider “amateur” builders. I’ve worked with them myself on occasions. To me the money saved is not worth the time needed to modify all the parts. CMMG is the worst company in the industry when it comes to aftermarket parts.

It’s not impossible for the screw to be an issue, but you would know right away because there would be circular step marks on your buffer knob from the end of the screw. I’m going to guess that you have the wrong balt catch installed. Somebody probably mistakenly put a standard AR-15 bolt catch in your LPK. You need to find yourself a dedicated 308 V catch.

What LPK did you install?

This is the Criterion barrel I was speaking of. I may or may not be right/wrong about the OEM manufacturer of the barrel. This is likely the closest you'll find.

I think Criterion had one at one point. I also think LMT made one. I’ll check with Farkle, as I think he bought one a few years back.

Welcome. I look forward to seeing your build. As for your question, yes. Most LPK’s are the same, and universal. If you’re using a kit, I suggest Armalite. Their newest generation kit is cross compatible with nearly every rifle.
