  1. been there for that and i can attest it is quite a few
  2. start with a .22lr , at least there won't be the intimidating bullet, bang, and ouch. that would be my best choice. also see if there is a womans only safety course, that might help too. my fiance has shot her whole life, her father started her young, so i have him to thank for that.
  3. :threadjack:
  4. :bj: i don't think much of what they make is worth it, they think very highly of themselves. this is not to say it isn't well made, but just not worth what they charge
  5. 1. i like two stage personally 2.http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=22876/avs|Make_3=AR%20xzzx308/view=g/Product/AR-15-M16-AR-STYLE-JP-MODULAR-HANDGUARD-SYSTEM , this gives you rail options where you want them, is reasonably priced, and is light and free floated 3.your 16" may be ok to 300, i'd go out and try killing paper at that range before you invest in a barrel, to make sure you need it. if yes, the 18 may be better trudging thru the woods
  6. tactical beer coozy, with auto refill
  7. never mind, i got it :2nd: :ifly: :box1:
  8. good for you, i think that is the way to go. let them fix it properly, make sure they test fire it for you too. two week turn around is damn good. in the mean time stock pile some good ammo to run through that when you get it back for final break in, or initial if they replace something
  9. i noticed my avatar is missing, which is no big deal, but i thought maybe i could use this, nothing like a little maiden to jump start the day. the new eddie http://www.ironmaidenwallpaper.com/files/art_final_frontier_drawings_1_iron_maiden_wallpaper.jpg
  10. nice tom, i didn't know you knew ron jeremy!!!! <thumbsup> i've been working out too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-cpojkILO0 man, it was bright in the stretching room
  11. helmets are totally necessary, as her wipeouts show, for all kids though. i've had several concussions and don't want it to happen to anyone, and with medical science doing more research, we are finding out long term affects of that. not to mention this is the kid who has no fear at all. thank you rene, much appreciated
  12. i agree and sympothize
  13. so to this point winter has pretty much sucked. yes i like winter. way to warm, but saturday was 28 for the high, 8 for the low. it was much of the same the next couple days, and after i got my re-cert for ert training at work today ( i am first responder) we took my daughter who turned six in november, and only asked for new skates, which she got, ice skating on a local pond after i tested the ice. she has only been a couple times, mostly two years ago. but oh man, she may be skating with dad playing hockey when she gets older. with more practice of course. here's the video link, it's a good laugh. she's tough as nails.
  14. so lew, i'd like to know, what is your plan going forward? i hope you plan to keep your rifles and maybe improving them where you find defincies to get exactly what you are looking for. a good trigger is the best start. i'd start there
  15. ok, that gas block should not be moving. jlaw, at this point cmmg needs to be getting a phone call, and you should NOT be having to work on this problem with a new rifle, twice. look man, you have gone through way more than anyone should have to so far, now they need to take responsibility for a faulty product. if you decide to fix this yourself, i would buy a new gas block, and install it yourself because i believe the one you have is a piece of shit. sorry for the language. i'm have no doubt others will have something to say, but that is my advice.
  16. oh dave, :'( , send me it, i will have to compare to the group prices for what i was considering. thank you and you're killing me
  17. try looking in the reloading section, there is plenty of info there and people to reference who do successfully
  18. A set of go no-go gauges are easy to use
  19. Small pin for almost all except colt based receivers
  20. hey man, i hear ya there, like they don't care about the little guy, on their larger contracts. my obr is an early number, so i placed it before it wasn't released. then when the predatar came out i was ready for a carbine, and i thought shit ya! hell no. i called and asked some questions and bothered that poor sales person with what must have been mundane questions. and was told they wouldn't sell me one with a pinned stock. like it would've been so hard to do in their immense machine shop. then i called pws and was met with warm friendly personel, happy to shoot the shit several times. i with you al, just sucks because i love my rifle and totally would have bought two from them. now i will only use them for mounts.
  21. so many possibilities, tom, you see this guys toys. john i am envious
  22. lew, i think without buying a whole new gun you can upgrade what you have if you are willing. it'll be cheaper in the long run and maybe you'll get more enjoyment from it. i will not, repeat not sway you from buying a high quality item, but you can improve what you have if you aren't happy. first off, i have a 20" larue, possibly the best gun in the .308 ar universe (slightly embellished….. or not.) it shoots 3/8 moa on the days i do my part. but. now i mean this when i say it. you can make your rifles better. first and maybe the easiest thing you can do is change your triggers. now everyone has a favorite but i recommend geissele. they offer several models to fit your needs. second, if you don't think the performance your getting is good enough, a new match grade barrel by a high quality barrel maker will also give you improvements. fulton, lothar walther, krieger, are all excellent choices. another thing you can do that will help is a free float hand guard. i don't know how reputable your source was but what will wear out or not last???
  23. Cool can't wait to see <munch>
  24. By the way, today's safe word is banana
