  1. Neither one of those devices are a combo of Brake and Flash hider, in one, and thus irrelevant in this thread. Not trying to be an ass, but this thread is about one device that fulfills both roles.
  2. I missed it - sold the hell out FAST! :'(
  3. Few boxes local. 125gr OTM Match @ $39 a box of 20. There are a few places that you can place backorders, Brownell's being one of them.
  4. Improper torque when it was assembled. Otherwise, it won't loosen up - as you've seen - because the gas tube is almost a "locking pin" for the barrel nut. Here's the thread to the other instance:
  5. That's damn good info, right there, Terry! <thumbsup>
  6. Just hold the trigger all the way to the rear when you shoot - that's what you're looking for, for trigger follow-through. You can't check Natural Point Of Aim without trigger follow-through, so that's one way to keep it in your head. Your trigger finger should still be holding the trigger to the rear, after the rifle recovers from recoil and settles again...
  7. I doubt the additional bolt lock time will do a thing, and won't add any excessive chamber pressure. The round runs fine, by design, in a bolt gun, and it's lock time could be forever. Literally. Your barrel nut is loose. Don't shoot it like that. Time for disassembly, to tighten that barrel nut. This same thing just came up not long ago - I think ss diagnosed and fixed this for a friend with a CMMG.
  8. PERFECT use of the word, my brother!!! <laughs> <lmao>
  9. This is the one DNP was talking about... <laughs> http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3880087
  10. poop, I would have been at your place, had I known! <dontknow> You cut the case short, so there's not so much "spring leverage" when the end of the round is on the bolt face. Stays put that way. It's in there strong enough to tap the pin right out. I have a small, drilled piece of wood (hole) for the bolt tail to go into. Loosen up mini-vise, and everything slowly comes apart. <thumbsup>
  11. Hell yeah, it was... :hethan:
  12. Sounds like you worked WAY too hard, bro - here's all you needed, with a cut-down casing, maybe 1/4" of the base, at the most:
  13. Did you build this, or buy it complete from a factory (or buy it as a built gun from someone else)? Does it have an AR15 bolt catch in it?
  14. Check with SI Defense, too, brother - they make a stainless one. People have had them sent out via USPS flat-rate, so don't get freaked by shipping. Do the whole thing on the phone with them.
  15. I have handled one, whilst visiting Jon - bad idea. I wanted to do the paperwork right then. It was the standard magazine, and I really want to handle one with the 7rd extended magazine first, before I let it suck the money out of my wallet... <laughs> It is a very nice piece. P.S. Your refined degree of gun-pushing instigator qualities have not gone unnoticed... <lmao>
  16. Pure excellence. I look forward to more, and I hope it spreads to the American public. They really, really picked some great people for this. Time to donate.

  20. S&W isn't owned by Cerberus/Freedom Group, which does/did own DPMS (does anyone know the status of the selling of FG yet, and who they still own?). Even though I originally said this thing looks to be DPMS based, it's not made by DPMS - unless S&W somehow contracted them into it, for them, outside of Cerberus/FG. I don't see that happening. It's more "KAC SR-25" based, with it's ambi controls. In a sense, it should share many of the DPMS-based parts, but it could have some KAC-ish qualities that nobody knows about, yet. Time will tell.
  21. Could you charge it? Would the bolt carrier come all the way back, and into the receiver extension? If so, upper and lower center bore were okay, which would mean that it was okay. I can get light to come through any upper and lower combo, even a couple maatched sets. It's gonna be there, to some extent. I guess the only real test of it would be long-term testing. If the upper and lower center bore were off, you'd have some weird buffer face wear. At a minimum. Maybe even receiver extension wear, on the inside. Kinda like what you'd see with carrier tilt on a piston gun.
  22. That's the ONLY buffer to use on a .308 AR, with the UBR. MagPul recommends it, straight from them.
  23. ^^^ I'm with you, Terry. But, this does look good in my paw. :))
  24. ^^^ Yep.
