  1. Hahahaaaaa!!! <lmao> Rangers could break an anvil in a sandpit... <thumbsup>
  2. I'd love to come over there and help you guys with some of the Piggie Population Control. Damn fine shootin'... <thumbsup>
  3. I'm running their 18.5" barrel (from Fulton) on my rig. It's worth the wait, and it's a great, great barrel - hang in there. <thumbsup>
  4. Recently, there was a thread listing a company that will EXO coat any parts that you want to send them. I have never seen just the cam pin available, especially for the .308 platform. From what I saw of the prices, it was a very good deal. I think it would be a very good performer if you have the whole BCG coated, along with the hammer and trigger. <thumbsup> I can't find that thread right now, but someone will probably find it and link it in here, shortly.
  5. These are things that we, as avid firearms owners, can see easily. It's really something that the general public needs to become aware of - the lengths this administration goes to in order to fabricate "evidence" so they can force additional gun control laws onto the entire country as a whole. It's nothing more than "scare tactics." It's actually pitiful that the people we entrust to run this country will stoop to the levels that they have to advance their political agenda. It doesn't matter to them if it's "for the good of the people" or not. They don't care about "the people" in the least...
  6. Choosing from those three, I'd definitely do the Mega set. I've got one of their billet 5.56 lowers, and the thing is a work of art. Those guys are some of the best billet firearms machinists in the industry. <thumbsup>
  7. .338 Federal for this one? That would be pretty damn cool. <thumbsup>
  8. From the parts list, the only thing I'd be concerned about would be the upper and lower - definitely talk to IRA on the phone first, ask them if they have all their issues worked out, and if they're going to stand behind their product, regardless of where you purchase it. Everything else looks good.
  9. The stock Ruger mags for this rifle are designed by Accuracy International, but made by Accurate Mag. The things are $70 MSRP from Ruger... :o Well, Ruger is making polymer mags for it, much cheaper than the steel mags - $40 for the 10-rounders. I just ordered two of them, so I'll put up a quick review once they get here. <thumbsup>
  10. I started using Varget in my 68, 69, 75, and 77 gr 5.56 loads. I never payed any attention to it for .308 loads, before. I love the stuff. One powder does it all for me. <thumbsup>
  11. The Mossberg 464?! Sorry guys, I completely derailed this thread... :o
  12. I have no idea how I missed this one. Oh, I do know - Drew posted it on purpose while I was out for a full week of vacation, playing in the sand dunes... ??? I'll get out this Sunday and fire up a few of these groups. I have a couple rifles that need fired, so I'll put something towards this and see how the cards fall. I just hope it's one of the "good days..." <laughs>
  13. Greg is one hell of a great guy, too. He even brought his fiancee, and Holy Shat, SHE CAN SHOOT!!! :o He had such a damn good time, that he's trying to move out here now. I'm just sayin'... <laughs> One of these days, I'll lure you down here, too. I don't stand a chance of getting Drew out here - he's skeered... That he won't go back. <lmao> I'm trying to get a group-shoot going on here, and I've got the facility to do it on. Maybe we can get that rolling sometime. There's really never a "bad time" to shoot in AZ... <thumbsup> Whenever the Turkey Shoot goes down a little north of me, I'll be there.
  14. You're My-Brother-From-Another-Mother?... :o <lmao>
  15. I concur, my brother. I absolutely love Moss shotguns. Got another shot-build planned right now, as a matter of fact. ;D One day, when I get my gun-poop together and stop getting distracted by "right-now" builds, I will buy this Moss 464. <thumbsup>
  16. That's my pink one - don't steal my thunder... <laughs>
  17. I think we just passed No. 1, No. 2, and the "Are we different?" questions... <laughs>
  18. That's not what you told me last Friday night... <lmao>
  19. Biggest "rifle" I've ever shot was a 106mm Recoilless Rifle. That thing is no joke, and eats you up when you fire it - both you, and the assistant gunner. The fireball is horrendous. It's kinda trailer/tripod mounted, and there's no way in hell of carrying it, but it's still called a "rifle." The damn thing has a .50 BMG "rifle" on the side that fires tracers, for spotter rounds... Next biggest is the 90mm Recoilless Rifle. You can pack that thing around, but it's no fun. It's also no joke. Those are big guns... :o <lmao>
  20. I still want to shoot one of these - and the article didn't even mention it... ;D It shoots the bullet on the right. Left to right, up there: .223 Rem, .338 LM, .50 BMG, 20mm Vulcan... :o
  21. One way to check the condition of the gas rings is to extend the bolt all the way, then stand the complete BCG up on the bolt (balance it for a second if you have to, so it doesn't fall over). If it stands up on it's own weight, and the bolt doesn't collapse into the carrier, then the gas rings are fine. If it falls down and the bolt sinks into the BCG, you need new rings.
  22. And those standard parts needed modified for what reason? Why didn't the parts fit into the lower that you already bought? That's kinda the question here - and the warning to others. Maybe they've fixed what they were doing wrong, but they were definitely doing something wrong for quite awhile. That's the whole point. If it's fixed, it's fixed - and new production from them should be okay. However, there are uppers and lowers out there that dealers may have been sitting on for a hell of a long time now - those might not work so well for consumers. Not bashing them - I hope they got it all together now. The buyer needs to beware, though.
  23. Iron Ridge had to fit that standard off-the-shelf lower parts kit to your rifle, though, didn't they?
  24. However, with the demise of the Marlin levers, Mossberg took notice, and they're making a damn nice lever gun now. Check that thing out. <thumbsup>
  25. Jumped outta planes and killed people. This question is better asked inside that forum.
