  1. I've conducted a helluva lot of "Belt-Fed Tax-Payer-Provided Shooting Extravaganzas..." <lmao> <laughs>
  2. Hearing about, or even picking out, a Geissele trigger can be confusing - there are many, and they're all referenced by acronyms. Here's the breakdown on their triggers - and it's not as bad as it seems, once you can reference one against another, or reference all the single stage trigs, etc. <thumbsup> Happy Surfing... <laughs>
  3. They have a whole BUNCH of barrel options now, that they didn't have about a year ago. Before, there were 3 or 4 stainless choices, and 3 or 4 cromoly choices. Now, there's so many listed... The options have definitely grown. When I started building mine a couple years ago, everything was threaded, and if you didn't want a flash suppressor on there, you ran a thread protector on the end. Not so, now - and that's a good thing. Plenty of choices, and the prices are very good. <thumbsup>
  4. Welcome, Gunny! Glad to have you, man. Finish off that deployment, and we'll gladly help you spend that money. <laughs> Wisely, of course. <thumbsup> THAT ^^^ is pretty damn cool. Tell them, in return, thanks for sending you over here. 8)
  5. Welcome, man - you're gonna be fun, I see it now. <laughs>
  6. I will be stripping the intake manifold and cylinder heads off my truck that day. I'd much rather be blasting with you guys. :-[
  7. Absolutely. The UV here is hard on parts - kills motorcycle master cylinders pretty damn fast.
  8. If I had anything with a gas block pic rail, I'd try to melt one. If anyone wants to donate that gas block - temporarily - I'll donate the front MBUS for the test. I'll try to melt the thing to goo... <thumbsup> I'll send your gas block back, but it might be slimed. Just sayin'... <dontknow>
  9. The suppressor is serial numbered, and you've paid the stamp. How can "servicing a serviceable suppressor" be considered "making a suppressor"?!!? <<< THAT would require another stamp - MAKE another one. Not service what you already legally own... I don't even comprehend. <dontknow>
  10. .308 barrel extensions are longer than AR15 extensions - what you have looks right. They're consistently off, but by the length of the extension. What you need to compare, between those barrels pictured above, is from the mounting flange on the extensions, to the gas port location. That is gonna be the measurement that tells you if you've got Armalite-machined barrels or DPMS-machined barrels - I think Jgun hit it. I can't really see something Armalite-based coming out of DPMS, but DPMS isn't the ones making their own barrels, either - that's sublet, to others.
  11. Manuals can be, most of the time. Autos - never. Robo, what are you driving, that took the dump? Make, model, etc. I'll find out what trans it is, and give you some recommendations based on that. Heat kills Autos, and stock autos suck - unless you make some improvements to them.
  12. I've been doing that for 1/2 my son's life now. He's 15, and pretty damn good with the ARs, very good with the 10/22, and he can muscle his way around with the .45 pistols. The 12ga and .308 still whip his skinny ass, though... <lmao>
  13. I can run the HELL out of one of those things, man. <thumbsup> I've had a little bit of time on those sweeties. ;D
  14. I STILL do not have that thing built yet... :-[
  15. I'll bring my truck and trailer for the offload... <laughs> I found out what that SIG was at my local Wally World - the SIG M400 Hunter Black... <thumbsup> Details here: http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/m400-hunter-black.aspx
  16. Oh, brother, I knew if I didn't say something right away, that he was gonna go there... <lmao> Pre-emptive Strike, before he could take action. <thumbsup> <laughs>
  17. You were marked... :o
  18. Broke. Er. Broker. It's bad enough right now, I can't imagine you moving closer - I won't have a penny to my name... <laughs>
  19. Hmmm... considering the amount of money you've passed his way, I think a phonecall would be in order. Straighten out some of the people running the site in his absence.
  20. That is so perfect - words cannot describe it. I've got a former friend I need to send this to - shot with that guy ONCE... <lmao> <laughs> Edit, for clarity - No, I am definitely NOT talking about EC here. <thumbsup> He's an excellent range buddy. 8)
  21. On my side, I found another gas block that's drilled all the way through - the YHM lo-pro. I need to look at the rest of my stuff to see if there's more.
  22. Man, that is messed up... :o You know he lives close to me, too... Ironically, I was thinking that when I read what he posted - before reading what you posted... <laughs> Speaking of SIG, I found a 20" 5.56 SIG in the wild the other day - in the rack at Wal-Mart of all places. Looked like a MOE varient, and they were asking $897. I'll snag the pic from my phone and post it up.
  23. I hope not, man - this is info he needs for the build. I'd hope it's the opposite of being scared off... <thumbsup> <dontknow> ;D
  24. That Spike's T3 buffer weighs in at 5.4oz. An Armalite AR-10 rifle buffer comes in at 5.4oz, and an Armalite AR-10 carbine buffer is also 5.4oz. That Spike's T3 (and spacer) will be good for a rifle-length receiver extension build - at least as good as any other standard .308 rifle or carbine buffer. After shooting it a little bit, you might find that you want more weight there, and a Tubb CWS could help you out, if that's the case.
