Exactly - don't get down on the LEOs for what they ARE allowed to own - get after the state government that creates the dumbass laws that restrict the civilians so much. I still hold the opinion that the LEOs need to be armed, greatly, when off duty - in that crazyass state, they're certainly targets. It's sad how there's such little respect for law enforcement anymore - some of the BS that people actually say to police when they're pulled over (not talking about this discussion, in the least...). Worse yet, the disregard for the law, when some freak jumps out of a car and starts shooting at them. The frequency that this happens nowadays is mind boggling.

DPMS is not an AR-10. Fix your thread title, by editing your post. Hate to be a stickler, but that's one big detail that matters. It's just not an Armalite AR-10, which would be the only "AR-10."

That just means it's functional under hand pressure - which it should be, for a new gun. That doesn't necessarily mean it functions fine when fired. That test just means "it's not completely screwed," but a serious problem with the extractor would have shown, with that. You could still have an extractor issue here. Try the gun lube first, instead of motor oil, and see where that gets you. Might solve everything. Fire up some results of what happens next. I was kinda hoping the casing would pop out, too - make this easy. <dontknow> <laughs>

This almost looks like an extractor issue - the extractor is failing to hang into the spent casing, and the ejector is popping it loose before it fully clears the chamber, or clears the ejection port opening. Since it doesn't happen every time, and some rounds are clearing, the ejector is working - see if that thing had some stout spring pressure by trying to push it in with a spent case. You can also see if it's sticking in position the same way. Remove the BCG from the rifle, hook the rim of a spent case into the extractor, and press it "straight" onto te bolt face to depress the ejector. Hit that a few times to see if there's any hangups with the ejector, or if the case rim slips off the exrtactor.

When you get the FTEs, is the empty case still stuck to the bolt face, or is it just laying in the chamber? You may need to test this with only one round in the magazine. Ensure that the bolt is locking to the rear, but see where the empty case goes.

What's listed is a good price. Not the best, but good.
