I JUST planted that back foot, too - to get FREAKY! And I was outta ammo. Sad Panda... I usually have enough back-meat to control some shiit like that, but not with a lightass .308AR throwing it that fast... It's almost worse than shouldering a 240, which kicks your ass, and it's heavy AF. Because it's still .308 Win, and it's WAY LIGHTER than a 240, it's even worse. So it beats your ass into oblivion. I wanna run 20 or 25 rounds through that bitch again, and I'll be ready already... I see no downside - it's pure heaven. That fukkin' trigger is tons-of-lovin' in a shorter .308AR.

.45 ACP case works the same as a cut down .308 Win case, and you don't have to cut it down. For future use, if you lose that cut-down case.

When you get it back out there, make sure you're doing the initial tests with that gas block in the wide-open setting.

The P80 frames have a 1911 grip angle. I have a couple factory Glocks, and 3 P80 builds. I do like the P80 grip angle better, but I come from 1911 roots, too.

This thread is becoming just PACKED with bad information, all the way around. Correct internal depth for a real AR-10 Carbine Receiver extension is 7 5/8". Not 7 7/8" - that would be 1/4" out of spec, right there. Bad advice. Correct internal depth on a DPMS LR-308-based carbine extension would be - proper AR15 carbine receiver extension depth. The real number is 6 15/16" internal depth. The commercial, industry standard has be 7.000" internal, with no ill effects. ^^^ That's the real data, right there.

We got out there at a decent time, around 4pm. Mike @blue109 was already out there, but not by much - he greeted the rolling caravan approaching him whilst standing on his roof rack, slung M4, and a beer in hand... Overwatch, for the weekend... Check. We pulled in, and started setting up, but priorities of work were getting the camper unhooked, to drive out there and set the Mile target up for Friday morning. It all happened, and while I was putting the Mile in, @JBMatt got the 450 out there. Kenny and his wife Shawn arrived, and the food-plan was lazy that night - burgers on the grill. We all ate, got settled in, and prepared for the rest of the weekend. Part 1, right there.

Having a receiver extension that's not seated where it should be means that the back (internal) of the receiver is beyond the maximum internal depth. That's when the ears on the BCG body start slamming the ears on the lower receiver, damaging your lower receiver. Trying to avoid that right now, by fixing it now, so there's no damage to the lower, in the future.

That will work, but the entire face of the buffer needs an outer radius machined off. Buffers rotate, so just one spot won't do it. Depending on local machining costs for you, the better alternative might be that offset retainer pin. Then, you can use any buffer you need to, without machining it.

This receiver extension looks like it needs to go in another turn, but it's bottomed on the retaining pin. You'd have to notch the bottom forward edge of the extension to clear the retaining pin.

Better overall BC in both G1 and G7 drag models. Just putting the two of them in JBM Ballistics software, the X outperforms the M at distance. Bonus that the X is a very viable hunting projectile, which just happens to outperform their target round...

Hornady 11 Manual lists 178 ELD-X under .308 Winchester, and in Service Rifle, it lists 178 ELD-M - Varget loads for both. Shoot the ELD-X with the same charge, and work up. The Hornady manuals are always about 10% low, in their recommended max charges. From what I've see in real life. You won't see pressure signs until you cross 10% above what they list for a max charge, or more. Run with scissors...

Squared off ejectors will fuk up every round feeding from the right side of the magazine - which is every other round... When ejectors are jacked up, you notice it "intermittently" - until you start paying attention to it - happening every other round, and those rounds are always coming from the right side of the mag...

We can work with that, and get it running. Have no fear. I need to teach you the definition of "oversized..." I mean, I can SHOW you was oversized is... but sometimes, that still doesn't stick...
