I'm grateful for this, brother. Glad they're coming around. Way back in the day, I was on there, and got to make ONE POST, and was banned. Someone asked about a good AR15 barrel, and I suggested Spike's Tactical - BAN! With one post. That stirred me up, like you don't know, and I got on ARF, and praised the fuk outta Spikes. That led to the fucking OWNER of M4C sending me a PM - on the site that I was banned from, and could still read? I read his email notification. Fuk that douche. I lit him up on ARF for even PMing me in the first place, and posted his shiit that he sent me. All the bandwagon long-time guys over there were all over that. Eff 'em all. Looks like - as it turns out - those people over there don't know enough about Large Frames to even hold their own water... Where those old-timers at over there, that were slamming me 10 years ago?... 🥰

Fuckin' Savages, I'll tell ya. These bastards would eat their young.

Just so you know, @JBMatt is the one that actually makes the lube. We tested it here for a few years, and it's the best stuff out there.

Is this really a rifle receiver extension that's 9 1/2" internal depth? That needs replaced. Find someone that has a proper extension, that measures 9 11/16" internal.

Springs in pistols comes down to the ammo that you're shooting, and being able to make follow-up shots without excessive recoil and muzzle/gun jump. And it's valid. We really can't "tune" with spring in this platform, because there's a minimum needed, and most manufacturers don't meet that minimum, at all. Some manufacturers think AR15 springs will work in these things, and that's just a drunken pipe dream, right there. You can go too crazy on springs with these, and there's only two examples that I can even think of. First is the Stag Arms .308 spring. That's the heaviest spring I've ever seen in my life, first-hand. That spring rate is through the roof. I think they did that because they ship their guns with 3.8oz buffers. I'm not willing to invest the time, research, or money, to even see if it's viable - but I've already done that for GunPusher John, on a customer's gun that came into the shop. I couldn't make that thing cycle reliably with all kinds of different buffers, including custom-lightened buffers. I'm over it, with that Stag spring. Second thing I can think of is the Sprinco springs, and accidentally getting the wrong one. Sprinco makes the Orange spring specifically for the .308ARs with 7.000" receiver extensions, running short 2.500" buffers (that should weigh 5.4oz, or very damn close). Specifically designed for that application. Next is the Sprinco Red spring - that's a direct replacement for the Armalite EA1095 spring, which should be used in .308AR rifle recoil systems, and carbine recoil systems with a 7 5/8" extension, running a 3.250" 5.4oz buffer. If someone accidentally got a Sprinco Red spring, and threw it in a 7.000" AR-15 recoil system for their .308AR, they'd be Sad Panda. It won't work. Won't work better than putting the EA1095 into a 7.000" carbine setup, which wouldn't work, either... Therefore, we can only select the proper spring - and make sure the rest of the recoil system is straight, and make sure the gas system is straight. I'll say this now, though - 8oz 9mm extended buffer, with a Sprinco Red spring, is what finally fixed my 9mm AR. I need to get another set like that, and fix my first 9mm AR. Blowback pistol cal ARs are a motherfucker to make run right, if you really, really are interested in making them run right...

Now THAT is funny! Hey, LoneWolf, by the way...
-
Doesn't make a hill of beans how it does when you manually cycle it, but it makes a world of difference when you pull the trigger - and expect to be able to pull the trigger again. Read this, and it'll break down the two systems that actually make this gun run right:
-
Alright, fuckers...
-
This will bring it all into perspective:
-
Matt said I was CBK... Cold Bore King.
-
Nope! I had a job do to. Did it with one round.
-
Uh huh...

Just for the record... last year, Postal Todd brought out a .300 Win Mag. He was shooting the mile with us. He had some 168gr ammo that he bought. It was nowhere close to being able to get there. Nowhere close. Too light, ran out of steam well before the target. He was frustrated. Now, Postal Todd has a Savage .338 LM bolt gun, and he's gonna make this shot, this spring. We'll see what happens.
-
Oh no - with the smack talked already you get the Win Mag already - with the detachable 5-rd mag. You get ONE ROUND on the mag, brother. Put up or shut up. Hey, I'll even dial the 16.9 mils in the scope for you, and get you comfortable on the bench, beforehand. I'll do anything I can for you - so you can make that easy shot, just off-center on the plate. Now, when I give you the second mag, loaded 5-full - you better show me the difference between "control, fluke, repeatability" and all that other stuff you talked. I expect a first round hit, followed by 5 more -by your definition. We'll see how this goes... I'll bring my mile gun, that's for sure. So will @JBMatt. Not enough.
-
Last I checked, militarily, they didn't require Snipers to shoot someone twice. Just once.
-
I will call you - brace yourself for impact...
-
We'll just see what you can do - bring your mile gun with you next week... I already have one of those...
-
I hurt so bad from the night before, that i had to have a Bloody Mary right away that morning, just to get me straight. And I cold-bored that fucker. Cold gun, straight out of the case, first shot. Staggered up to the shooting platform. Hey, it worked. Who's to say it didn't? Nobody. Because nobody here has ever done that, on one of these shoots. Let's see what happens next weekend....
-
That's what got my cold-bore that morning - the night before was ROUGH! I still managed it, though. Maybe that's what "calmed my nerves..."
-
I've already done this, multiple times. Brother, this is old-hat to me.
-
LOL. We donlt need "definitions" of bullshiit - we need performance. Control, fluke - whatever. I did it already. I'll let you shoot my gun. And my ammo. I will shoot it first and hit the mile. After that, we'll see how many shots it take you to hit it... You in?
-
This is gettin' Spicy! I like it!
-
I already proved it. Walked to the line, settled, pulled the trigger. BAM! Done. One and done. The only way you can call that "luck" is when YOU do it. And You repeat it - then, you can tell me I suck... and can't pull it off again... I walked up there, and did what I had to do. With one shot. At a mile. Damn near dead-ass center of the plate, too. An 18" wide plate at a mile is less than one MOA. I'm just sayin'... And that was the middle of it... An 18.4272" plate would be one MOA... I'm just sayin'...
