  1. One important detail skipped in your post, and an important one. What's the gas system length? You nailed everything else, recoil system, all the other details. Gas port diameter. What's the gas system on this gun? It's either mid-length, or rifle-length. That info right there will give me the information that I need to inform you on gas port diameter. EDIT - for adjustable gas blocks, you ALWAYS start with those things WIDE OPEN, maxed the fuk out on adjustment. If you don't, you'll never know if the gas port diameter is large enough in the first place. My $0.02 on adjustable gas blocks. I don't own one, and never will, suppressor or not.
  2. I love Crispy, brother - thank you for posting that. Met him a couple years ago at SHOT, at the bar on the range. One hell of an impressive guy.
  3. Pretty impressive spread... Aircraft carrier, sucked into an A6 Intruder...

    I should be dead already...
  5. Sorry to hear this, brother. I hate the decision, when you have to put a pet down. It sucks.
  6. That's my go-to for 300BLK. Welcome aboard, in a year-ago thread. Hit the Intro Section, man, glad you're here.
  7. Will these guys here be happy if we pull this at 775 yards? Or do we really need to go to the off-set site, the Long Range site, and set something up at 1k yards for them? I think we can pull this at the 609, and the new 775, and be just fine - with pistols. If we hafta go 1k... Well then...
  8. Hit it this morning with Kimmy and @JBMatt. GunPusher John had the idea, and said he wanted to get out there at 9am. Me and Matt were there, John showed up closer to 11am... Matt did some more work on 6 ARC loads that he's working on, for @Matt.Cross's Mk12 6 ARC gun. I took some long guns today, but ended up shooting pistol-only. 19X with the Timney Alpha trigger. Whenever you see @JBMatt shooting off a table, it's worth it to see what he's doing. His load development schedule is unreal. He's putting in work, right here. I'm working that pistol stuff at 7 and 11 yards, right here. Spotting Matt... SDTF can't be rivaled. Nothing like it. Kimmy in the neck brace. The neck brace is HAWT!... My 5-yard pistol drill. Had to try it with this new trigger. Target at 5 yards, steel preferred, so you get immediate feedback. Shoot 5 yards, turn, walk 5 full steps back away from the target, turn towards target and draw and shoot again. Keep going until you miss. I went 58.3 yards today for hits, and missed on 63.8 yards (lasered last hit and first miss). at 5 yards each, that works out, because here's the 12 hits, one at each 5-yard distance. Not a bad group, considering the increasing distance. Know your holds, men. Parting shot for the day - here's @JBMatt bagging a G17, and hitting a big rock at 400 yards. YES, he has the hold down for this. Don't fuk with him and think you can challenge him at this game... You will NOT win this challenge...
  9. I went Dawson Precision suppressor-height sights on my 17, and they're perfect for the optic. I'm running the Holosun, which is the same height as your SRO. Little more money than the others, but they're perfect on that gun.

Call them on the phone. Never had an issue. Clymer gauges just came up recently. Ask BA what gauges they use. Go rip up the Intro Section, and tell us about yourself. It's right here: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/
  11. Update on this Wilson Combat .260 Rem barrel - I fitted it to an Aero M5 upper at the gun shop today, and checked gas port location with a regular AR15 rifle-length gas tube... It's short. As Fuk. Barely gets into the front of the cam pin cutout. It still needs the Armalite AR-10 Rifle gas tube to be right. I'll get that coming, or go visit/call Armalite, and get it on the way. I knew that was going to be the case, just knew it. Wilson Combat hasn't learned the "gas port LOCATION" rule yet... They make badass, super-accurate barrels. They just need to do the rest of it, and make them perfect already...
  12. Went by GunPusher John's shop today, like a normal Saturday, and helped him close down on time. He closes at 3pm. At 2:45, I remembered to show him the 19X with this trigger, and wouldn't tell him what it was. He liked it, alot. When I told him what it was, he says, "Shiit, I have a customer that brought me one to put in his G34!..." Gimme that thing, brother, I'll put it in right now, before you close. I had that sucker in there in 15 minutes. You're gonna love that trigger, brother.
  13. I can't wait to shoot this setup, brother!
  14. Mike, I didn't look close enough on the website, but does it list the bullet weight and muzzle velocity for that 500 AutoMax? If you can get those numbers and post them here, I can run some math on the energy of the cartridge at distance. EDIT - they had links to ammo on their website... All of the MV numbers below must be from the 18" barrel that the company offers... 500 AUTO MAX (buffalobore.com) 440 gr Hard Cast 1,900 fps/ME 3,526 ft lbs 400 gr JFN 2,050 fps/ME 3,732 ft lbs 350 gr JHP 2,300 fps/ME 4,110 ft lbs
  15. For big bores in a large-frame AR, I have a .338 Federal with a 16" barrel, and a .358 Winchester with a 16" barrel. Both barrels are from Wilson Combat. That .338 Fed hits hard as hell, compared to a .308 Win cartridge. I haven't even shot the .358 Win yet because I haven't made the plunge to buy ammo that costs too much right now, and I haven't necked up any .308 cases yet. I did get a box of projectiles last week, so that will be happening soon. I'll keep this thread updated. For the .338, I load up Hornady 225gr SSTs, and they run great. On the .358, I'm trying out the Hornady 250gr SP-RP Interlock projectiles.
  16. Tequila is the answer to that riddle, my brother. It's either Wild Jungle Monkey Sex, or someone's getting the shiit beat out of them. There's that magical combination of a night, when it's both...
  17. Dropping one on San Fran might be the best idea yet. IMHO...
  18. I have stories about this one...
  19. ^^^ That right there is all Cliff's territory. @Cliff R
  20. Gimme a link already...
  21. Sorry again, to all you amateurs and fishing-bastards, that you thought you had a dude on the hook for "The Rule..."
  22. Just keep in mind, for that Timney - there's a G5 version, and a G3/G4 version. If you upgrade to the G5 17 MOS, the G3/4 version trigger won't work in it. The G5 trig won't work in the G3/4 guns. Make that gun decision, brother, whether you buy the G5 17 MOS - before you get the trigger. This trigger will make you smile like a motherfucker...
  23. The MOAB: The Mother Of All Bombs Comes With The Mother Of All Price Tags Too by SOFREP 6 hours ago https://sofrep.com/news/the-moab-the-non-nuclear-bomb-that-gave-isis-a-taste-of-their-own-medicine/?utm_source=SOFREP - Highly Engaged&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=The MOAB%3A The Mother Of All Bombs Comes With The Mother Of All Price Tags Too (WNLGuL)&_kx=GIibZaVqTUPDGw2TCJN2dMnfcKe1RL_-0Zca51LUK8I%3D.HVS3Ca If you were asked what the largest and most powerful bomb there was in history, you’d probably think of the Little Boy atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima by the Boeing B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay or the Tsar Bomba, which was developed by the Soviet Union in 1961, over 2,000 times as powerful as those dropped in Nagasaki. But those are nuclear weapons, which are now tightly monitored by the world’s superpowers. What about non-nuclear weapons? Those that we can actually use in case of an attack without the stigma of nuking someone? Well, look no further. The Mother of All Bombs is here to satisfy your craving for powerful non-nuclear bombs. That’s One Big Mother Of A Bomb The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), better known as the Mother of All Bombs, is the largest non-nuclear weapon used by the United States Armed Forces. Filled with 18,700 pounds of H-6, this bomb yields a blast of 11 tons of TNT or 46 GJ. Initially inspired by the BLU-82 Daisy Cutter (a 15,000-pound bomb), it was deemed highly effective when used to deter and dispose of enemy forces in Afghanistan. The US Air Force, notably Albert L. Weimorts Jr., was tasked to build a bigger and more powerful bomb. Aside from actually killing enemy personnel and bombing light to medium structures, it was intended to be a “shock and awe” bomb. This tactic involves showing the enemy forces that they cannot beat the forces who possessed such a bomb mainly due to the sheer overwhelming power of it, which would paralyze the enemy into a panic. As a result, enemy forces would retreat and lose their will to fight. At least that was the idea. Al Weimorts with Joseph Fellenz, the lead model maker with a prototype version of the Mother of All Bombs (U.S. Air Force, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons/Wikipedia). Known as an airburst bomb, it’s designed to bomb large areas above the ground. This is why the BLU-82 Daisy Cutter was deemed effective when the US initially used it to clear and flatten forests in Vietnam. These bad boys are dropped using a C-130 Hercules, particularly the Lockheed MC-130E Combat Talon I or its 130H variant, mainly used by the United States Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Yup, it’s so big that no US bomber has a bomb bay big enough to carry it. When dropped, it is accompanied by drogue parachutes for steady and precise bombing together with the use of GPS technology. The bomb was initially developed for the Iraq war. It was first tested in March 2003 at Eglin Air Force Base. Since then, 15 MOABs have been made by the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in Oklahoma. Drop It Like It’s Hot On ISIS This big bad boy was first used against ISIS-K in Nangarhar’s Achin district, Afghanistan, when it bombed a series of cave systems used by the terrorists in 2017. It was said that the bomb was used to minimize risk to Afghan civilians and US Armed Forces who were within the area. The ISIS-K, also known as Daesh-Khorasan, is composed of former members of the Pakistani Taliban, Tehrik-e-Taliban, and the Afghan Taliban (the more known Taliban). A US MC-130 flew over the targeted tunnels killing over 36 ISIS fighters in the process. The bombing came after former President Trump’s promise to “bomb the sh*t out of ISIS.” People who were miles away from the blast reported that it felt like an earthquake and that several people had been knocked unconscious because of the blast. “We have the greatest military in the world, and they’ve done their job as usual. So, we have given them total authorization,” former President Donald Trump said. Several high-ranking military officials downplayed the bombing in 2017, stating that it was just another bomb used by the Armed Forces. “It allows us to go after deeply buried and hardened structures. It’s good use against tunnels, and it’s also good use because it’s going to set off IEDs in the area,” said Retired Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt to Al Jazeera. While it’s not the most powerful bomb out there when you compare it to the Hiroshima bomb that yielded 15 Kilotons of sheer firepower, the Mother of All Bombs is surely one weapon the enemies ought to look out for. The problem is finding a target worth the expense of dropping one on it. Including the cost of development, each MOAB rings up at the register at $16 million, before the coupon. We could go broke dropping these on terrorists, you know?
  24. Just go in there and answer their questions, brother. It should be pretty fucking apparent to them after the 2nd question they ask you...
