What was the outcome here? 1st - Did BA take care of you? 2nd - did you install this brake straight onto the barrel, with no washers or shims at all, and try to make it line up?

Indeed, my good man. Bounced from Tocumen to Rio Hato, to David, into Panama City, then Cologne.

So, here's the shakedown... When we signed up, we ended up in Squad 4 (of 5 squads), so we started on Stage 4, and went 5, 1, 2, 3, done. Stg 1 was at the bottom of the hill, 5 at the top, all shooting into this valley. There must be 60 or 70 pieces of steel out there, all over this valley. I prepped all my dope cards the night before, and moved them onto 3x5 cards, for that wrist-coach. Worked VERY well, for having the stage info right there. Stage 4 SUCKED!!! It was supposed to be standing inside the jungle gym, rifle at port arms, fire all target sets from a different triangle in the jungle gym. We got there, and the squad daddy says, "I had no idea this jungle gym was this small, so we start on a knee, inside, and you can fire one set from the prone..." My turn came up, and I put the bipod legs down and was going to brace them against the bars of the jungle gym - barricade the gun. That thing was moving all over, so I tried to sling up tight to help - blew the sling out of the Timber Creek QD socket, right away. So,I said fuk it, barricaded the bipod and went for it. Timed out on that stage. I saw a few guys START from the prone, and that's what I should have done. Get hits from the easy position, then move into those triangles. I learned... Next was Stg 5, the timber pile. This was a really cool stage. I did better on this one, but still timed out. Here's Tommy shooting it: Stg 1 was the timed stage, and the only one I cleaned in time. 9 targets, out to 505 (longest). Matt spotting on Stg 1, then Tommy shooting it: Stg 2 next, start from the pipe pyramid, hit the two 460s, move to the trailer, hit the 460s again, then work your way down the canyon... Here's me at the trailer - that thing was moving all over when you tried to lean into it. No barricading that one, so I put the rifle up on top of the trailer rail and went for it. Stg 3 was the last one for us. Supposed to be dark red with white outline, but by the time we got there, all the paint was shot off the targets. Start from the top of the spool, move, shoot them all again. I got all the ones from the top of the spool, but timed out after moving... I saved the large format pics of the downrange stuff, so I'll work on making some composite pics over the next few days. Next match is June 26th! Can't WAIT!!!

Lemme help you SmartPhone guys out a little... maybe you can see this one... Go ahead - do the YT age restriction thing - it's about the titties, why they did that...
-
It's Titties, and some AMAZING ones, too. If you phone-fuckers can't figure it out - with SMART phones... then how smart are they. I'd suggest you actually jump on a real computer, and log in on your PC... Or, miss the titties...

Just because I don't have the technology, doesn't mean I don't know how to use the technology...

Here's what I think of when I hear that... Doesn't have anything to do with grilling - but you brought it up...

All the MAJOR shiit-talking started this morning, when Matt sent this to Tommy...
-
There was not much trash talk - no kidding. We were in a squad of REALLY COOL DUDES. WAY cool. I was asking Matt and Tommy about all that, shooters giving each other shiit out there, and they said "Hell Yeah! Much talk!". There really wasn't. Made many new friends, and we'll try to get signed up with most of them for future shoots. There was a very large chunk of these "competitors" out there that are active PRS guys. Bolt guns, and speed. They only come to this match to get their speed up at distance, and not have to run a bolt - and DAMN! Were there some FASTASS shooters, on these targets! It was impressive. As FUK. I finished in the bottom 1/4 of the whole group. Matt finished in the top half, by a fair margin. I'll solve my issues, and do better on the next one, for sure. Speed was a big issue, because you're trying to find 4 or 5 pieces of steel - in a valley with probably 60 or 70 pieces of steel all stacked up in it. All the steel is painted, per stage, but after the first stage, all that paint is blown off the smaller targets. It was a real eye-opener. I planned well, and just timed out. Ironically, the only stage that I cleaned all 9 targets on was the Timed Tie-Breaker Stage...

We "confiscated" one of those from a drug lord in Panama in 1989 - but it was all gold-plated...

AR10 carbine type handguard for DPMS pattern
98Z5V replied to Albroswift's topic in Building a .308AR
You're set with that. You can get all the other parts from Armalite, for AR-10 stuff. -
Where do scope mfg come up with torque values ?
98Z5V replied to willbird's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
Usually from the size of the screw/bolt. That's where most of the numbers come from. Small screws, light torque - but enough to work. For most rings-to-scope, I just run 25in/lbs and go with it. -
I hit the long targets. Time was the factor. And the shooting positions - these were a HUGE challenge. And a QD socket on the front of the rail, that wouldn't keep the sling attached. That's going in the trash, and getting replaced with a MagPul QD socket, most fast. I could have turned some of these shooting positions into something - but couldn't sling up tight. I timed out on 4 of 5 stages, and only cleaned one stage completely. Got some magazine issues, too, with that ARC (and good Grendel mags), and I've got a fix in my mind, and I'll implement it. I'll get details up tonight, and pics. It was an absolute RIOT out there, and I'll hit every one I can from now on.

Very true, right there. They break free pretty easy when you want them off. The stakes are there to prevent it from coming loose on it's own - but they crack free without drama.

6Willbird, new wildcat large frame AR project ctg
98Z5V replied to willbird's topic in Member Builds
Not a bad plan at all, considering the current political landscape that we seem to find ourselves deployed upon... -
It's a rare receiver set/full gun. That's awesome. Yeah. NO. You posted it. That's where it's at. Good game, though...
-
Absolutely. They've been here for years, man - it's just been denied...

There's some true Brotherly Love right there, and i appreciate it, brother. Kid you not. These OTHER SAVAGES, though... Hmmm...
-
It was WILD, man. I'm not kidding. I'm STILL trying to get my shiit together, over it all. I kicked my OWN ass, and was NOT ready for something like this. I'll explain more later, but this was a RUSH...

Miraculous, too - all the sudden, it's back to fuckin' normal. Glad I snatched that screenshot of the fucked Mobile-SmartPhoneOnly bullshiit that it was doing. On a PC. Finally - this is like taking pictures of the fucking Aliens that are invading the planet - that the GOVT is finally talking about. I think those Alien Cocksuckers were invading the BOARD.... But nobody believed me. For years now... I finally grabbed that screen-shot, showing that is was fucked up...

Cooking and Eating are Primary - in the great chain of life - to shooting. During shoots. Just like Duning turned into cooking and eating - and THEN we'd RIDE... to the next meal... GOALS morphed... once we got good at food....

This is a pretty badass interview with Travis Haley. Worth your time, by far - please watch it all. This is the kind of information that I try to impart on friends, when we meet. It's very valuable imformation, so please watch - but LISTEN to the information...
