  1. It's a fuckin' HOOT, brother. Makes you stay on top of it - some days you go shooting and you're the bug - some days you're the windshield...
  2. Had to wake this one back up again. This was the FIRST BIG-ISH SHOOT that we ever did here. 2012, Sierra Vista Shooting Range. Two out-of-state visitors, Greg and Rob - and BOTH THEIR WIVES were preggo at the time. And they both shot the HELL out of the 930 SPX shottie... That's about the same time that we learned that the stock Choate extended tubes REALLY SUCKED on that gun... In 2011, Greg was visiting out here, and that started it all. in 2012, we got Rob out here, and Mikey from Phx and Jon from Tucson. After this one, it's only gotten bigger and bigger each year.
  3. Pink has been in for a loooong time, you bastards. This was 2012, with @Robocop1051 driving Pinky...
  4. Wind is my "big unknown" out here in the desert dirt. This way today, that way tomorrow. 2 , 25, whatever in between. This way out to 500, but then it changes before the 850. It swirls like a mini-tornado after that... You're in a good place, if you're avoiding wind - KEEP that place!...

But they're all on different days - so you might have to stay over here for a week or two. I'm just sayin'... I'm alright with that - room and board is covered already, brother. This match that I'm jumping into looks INCREDIBLY COOL. Matt and Tommy both said that it's badass, from what they saw when they checked it out. I hope it's great, and I hope the guys there are great - because there's an IMMENSE LEVEL of shiit-talking that could be performed at something like this... Once you get in someone's head - you just beat them. Even if they're better than you - you can fuk them up. I can't WAIT to see what this match is like, and shoot it- and do some psychological recon... the match in June, all shiit-talking-hell breaks loose...
  6. Information posted in your other thread. Also, you keep stating "CAGE 1LX50" like it's some kind of model number that will help identify your stock. It's not. CAGE codes are assigned by Defense Logistics Agency to identify commercially available products (and companies) that are available to the military. Those codes are assigned to a manufacturer. CAGE 1LX50 is MagPul's specific CAGE Code. All MagPul products have a specific NSN, per item, for each item that's available to the military... Different companies have different CAGE codes. "Commercial And Government Entity" is what it means. Civilian companies that make military-accepted parts. CAGE code gets assigned to the company, NSN gets assigned to each individual part that THAT company makes - that the military accepts, and offers. Look up CAGE code 086B5.
  7. A 3.8oz buffer can never function properly in a properly set up .308AR - when that gun was very first designed to run with a 5.4oz buffer. That's the bottom line. A 3.8oz buffer doesn't have enough ass to control the mass... Unless you're building some special Race Gun to win money with at competitions. And then - it's only gonna work with your Race Gun special ammo, and malfunction and choke on other ammo.
  8. Over a decade of building these things in multiple calibers and different barrel lengths, with experimentation, parts purchases, and wasted time and money - makes me choose a recoil system that work with all the ammo all the time, no matter what the caliber/barrel length configuration is... Not fake parts, not parts that are "like the Armalite parts" - just the real Armalite parts. https://www.armalite.com/SACItem.aspx?Item=AR10REKIT01&ReturnURL=/Armalite/Product-Category/AR10-Parts-Accessories&Category=4eeff98b-d9a6-40fd-be6b-ab2e44ec1080 Here's my soapbox on all the shiit that's wrong with .308AR manufacturers, my opinions on what works, through experience, and why some things that are billed as ".308AR parts" will never, ever work right...
  9. You mean this? https://magpul.com/firearm-accessories/stocks/stock-accessories/prs-extended-rubber-buttpad.html?mp_global_color=118
  10. ^^^ That's the stuff that will let you down, right there.
  11. I get after those 4-legged mangy, hairy fuckers, whenever I can. But, we can go south of here, if you want. It ain't that far.
  12. I need to get you out here and separate some coyotes...
  13. You look VERY SERIOUS. In light of that... ...my previous statement STANDS!
  14. Whaddaya have left? A pink stain?! EDIT - yep, just saw it - nothing but "opened up like a can of spaghetti"... FINE work, man!...
  15. With a fucking .308 Winchester round?!
  16. ^^^ That's gonna be REAL, too. Just wait for it...
  17. .308AR mag is gonna be too wide to stuff in that thing, brother. No-Worky. A 20-round PMag, loaded weighs 2lbs, too - you wanna add that to your buttstock, that weight?
  18. Sharps (SRC) has their .308AR BCGs available right now - well, as of this email... They're good. They still have 26 in stock right now, and that price ain't bad. https://www.srcarms.com/shop/specials/sharps-308-relia-bolt-carrier-group-complete/?utm_source=Mailchimp&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=04%2F21 BCG Campaign&utm_term=308&mc_cid=52d1fc16c1&mc_eid=b9dec104c6
  19. You're doing quite well.

We're gonna see if it's "lipstick on a Pig" if this bitch don't shoot!... Just kidding - I KNOW it shoots, and maaaaan... does it shoot! It's gonna be fun to take this thing out and run it in a match. I asked for 29 May off today at work, and got it, so this WILL happen. Smallest plate was a 10" at 200 yards - that's 5 MOA at 200 yards, that's a joke. Largest plate was 18" wide at 710 yards. Sheeeiiit - we do that all the time! We're running an 18" wide plate at a mile! 850 yards is the "standard" to start some long-range shooting here, with this crew. It'll be interesting, but maybe I'm already letting my Bulldog Mouth run my Canary Ass, a full month out!...
  21. Noticed it? All the time. There's NO standard for this .308AR pattern/platform, with all the different manufacturers out there. Sometimes, a barrel manufacturer will always drill the gas port location in "their standard" every single time - and another manufacturer does it different. There are even "sometimes" when a specific manufacturer does it one way for awhile - then decides to change... There's no TDP for these guys to follow, like the M16/M4 platform. They get to do what they want. It's not always right, it doesn't always work, and sometimes you have to change up what parts you're using because of it. That's why we measure the barrel IN the upper receiver before ordering gas tubes, these days. Or, have both kinds of gas tubes on-hand, so you're ready for any Large-Frame build that you take up.

The scoring and results are broken down into small-frame AR and large-frame AR. So, everything that fits into an AR15, and everything else that fits into a .308AR. I asked Matt today if I can double-class, take the 6 ARC AND the .260 Rem - he didn't know. So, I'll take the .260 with me, just in case, and double-class if they let me. If not, oh well. I'll shoot the 6 ARC, and check the results of the large-frame class afterwards, and take the .260 the next one... Since they just observed last Saturday, we didn't know what the actual competitors were doing. Talk amongst them, talk amongst the other squads at other stations, etc. After shooting on 29 May, we'll know EXACTLY how much shiit we can talk at the next one... And we will BRING the shiit-talking!...

Last Saturday of every month, there's an "Accurized AR" Match at Cowtown, here in AZ. This little hooker is going out there on Saturday, 29 May, and giving it a run. I've got until then to get my "final handload" all sorted out, so I'll go out this Sunday and run this thing for the first time since paint. Re-run the scope zero, re-run all the chrono data, and re-run the dope charts for it. Here's the deal on the match. It'll be me, @JBMatt, DirtBike Tommy, and Tommy's buddy, Dave. Scroll down to the "Accurized AR Match" to see their description, in the link below: https://www.cowtownrange.com/cowtown-range-events-and-competitions/ Here's the email that DirtBike Tommy received - he and Matt went up there and checked it out last Saturday. 24. Damn, I need to start charging for this shiit. I just did this one last weekend. This is Sexual Chocolate, on Sunday, before going after it again on Monday. This went down Monday night after work... I'm with Jim - Type III hard annodize is tough stuff. So is Cerakote. So is black nitride. All finishes will wear, including Kimber's "KimPro" finish, which I think is KG GunKote. All will wear over time. I know my old annodized M4A1 was all worn by the time I gave it up.
  25. Truth, brother. Found the fight. She won PROPER!
