Well, I've got a Springfield Armory XD-45 LE model, with the thumb safety. 13-rd mag, one in the pipe, and I've got two spare mags with +2 extensions, so I've got 44 rounds of .45ACP on me - and one spare loose round in my pocket, because it would be SACRILEGE to not have 45 rounds of .45ACP on me... And then Rob says, "Oh YEAH!..." ...and just starts PEELING guns off his body. Left and right. "I've got this one here, and I've got this one here, and I've got this one THERE, and..." I think he pulled one out of his prison-wallet. DEEP HIDDEN. It was pretty fucking EPIC for the first face-to-face with this guy... This was the BEGINNING of the 2012 shoot. Later that weekend, my Kimber Ultra RCP II was missing - and I had to SEARCH Rob to recover it...

Was that series shot suppressed, or unsuppressed? You went with the heavier buffer and spring from Slash - wise move - but you opened that gas block back up to wide-open. So... I'm watching your brass ejection pattern, for the most part, and it's ejecting about 2 o'clock-ish, most of the time, and the gas block is wide open. Cut the gas down - dial it back down. That BCG is still moving, and it should have slowed down, with the heavier buffer. But nothing really changed, with the now wide-open gas block. Only change one thing at a time, when you're trying to diagnose these things. Compounding the problem - we're trying to do this over the internet, just with pics, or descriptions, or videos... Not a complaint or a gripe - just trying to let you know that it ain't easy, figuring this stuff out. Answer what I asked at my opening - just so I have the answers to what I was asking, and can move forward with what I presume. My assessment so far - heavier buffer should have slowed it down, but opening the gas sped it back up. We're at the same scenario as before, at least looking at the vids - but I still don't know if you're still shooting suppressed, like that last vid. If all those stars align - close the gas down, in steps, until this thing is functioning right. The vids are GREAT, by the way... I just need to know the details of what is being shot, IN those vids. Have you measured that to verify? Things happen... That gas port size sounds right, based on the barrel specs you listed.

Lancer L7AWM mags are really the best ones to run in these guns, but they're almost twice the price of the MagPuls, in most cases. You can use those, too, perfectly fine, if you can't find the MagPuls anywhere...

I missed this one, sorry, brother! YES! Any ACOG QD mount will work... The ones from American Defense (ADM) are very, very nice - and I love some ADM mounts, for my red-dots and red-dot magnifiers. The ones from LaRue are REALLY nice, as well - and the ADMs run a little bit less $$$... The 5x from PA will come with their thumbscrew mount and a riser - already. It's set,right out of the box, to mount right up to any AR.

For the working barrel configuration from one specific manufacturer, here's what works, unsuppressed. 16" barrel, rifle gas, medium-heavy contour, 0.936" gas block journal size, 0.105" gas port diameter.

Solid parts list for the upper, run with it. Just get a cheap standard gas block for now, and don't worry about an adjustable gas block - if you build the rifle right, you won't need an adjustable gas block.

Scratch these clowns straight off your list. It's not worth the headaches that you'll incur. You're build an Aero M5 upper - just get the real Aero M5 upper parts kit, and be done with it. It'll WORK. That shiit from Davidson Defense is rejects and seconds, and might not fit. Don't be tempted by the dollar, and don't be tempted that they might say it's in stock - they commonly lie about inventory. Delta Team Tactical stock that looks JUST LIKE a B-5 SOPMOD stock... and cheap! It's chinese, and should be on an airsoft gun. Just buy the B-5 Systems real stock, if that's what you're looking at. Parts aren't easy to find right now - so don't go with airsoft parts on a real firearm. If that's what you want - then wait for the real parts to come in stock somewhere. Haven't been tracking it for commercial ammo for awhile, but I'll bet it has - if you can even find it. I was at 90 cents a round on reloaded brass with the 225gr SST projectiles. We had to up that to the Hornady 285gr ELD-Match projectiles - and that made it $1.90 a shot.
