My Big Truck was stolen, brother, and I was burning the midnight oil hunting people. I didn't find the people that did it, but i got my truck back. Last week was pretty wild. My Big Truck needs some work, and I've got alot of shiit to replace. I trip-mined the Nissan in the mean-time, and I'll trip-mine the Big Truck once I get it back to the house. The Big Truck is locked up at the shop right now, until I can get door locks and a new ignition in it - then I can lock it up at the house again. Trip-mined. I never realized that my weight-distribution hitch system for my trailer costs $600 - but I need to replace that key item. Not gonna happen again... Never...

Welcome to Arizona. Several years ago, here, Jon @planeflyer21 and I offered to "take you on a tour" whilst out here visiting, to this direct area. It's an eye-opener. In early 2004, the US Army re-started a Viet Nam War Era skill again, and started teaching "Combat Tracking" again. I was lucky enough to be in the pilot class, and the Level 2 advanced class directly afterwards. We were the proof-of-concept for the training curriculum. I think the only other person here that I've ever told that to was Greg @edgecrusher. That's a damn good video, brother - thank you for posting that.

DON'T buy a RZR 800, if one pops up. They're a PITA to work on. Doing clutch work sucks, the air filtration system sucks, and even changing spark plugs sucks - I shortcut a sparkplug change by taking the headpipe off the cylinder head, to get the rear plug. Even changing the oil sucks, and the oil filter dumps oil all over your skidplate, and there's nothing you can do about it. I removed the skidplates on those damn things just to do an oil change, because it's less mess, and less for me to clean up afterwards. No RZR 800s, brother. If it's a 900, make sure it's 2013 or newer.

No Arctic Cat. Don't even think about it. Textron bought AC a couple years ago, and we had to put new Textron stickers on all the inventory. Then, they realized that they trashed the brand name, and sent us new "Arctic Cat" stickers to put on all the inventory a year later. THEN, they fucked over all their dealers, and started selling to Bass Pro Shops - under some Bass Pro new brand name "Tracker" - at WAY cheaper OTD prices than dealer-cost, as an Arctic Cat DEALER... We dumped them, as a dealer, 2 years ago, because of that. Almost every single Arctic Cat Dealer in the US dumped them, over the same thing. There are very few places that you can still go, and get them serviced or repaired. AZ went from about 50 dealers, down to 3 dealers. I still get called about parts that are showing in my inventory, that were sent back to the company when they fucked all their dealers - and those parts don't show in MY inventory?... Desperate dealers, trying to hang on, and get parts from an old system that shows I have them - and I have none. Stay away from the Arctic Cat, at all costs. You'll never get support, never find parts (there are no more dealers), and Bass Pro doesn't do service work unless they sold that machine, and they track it by VIN. Don't buy the RZR 900 if it's a 2012 or older. Big changes in that line for 2013 models, and they were big improvements. Lemme know what else you got, brother. I'm here for you @Magwa

1995~2004, I'd scuba dive the Puget Sound for those fuckers, and the Red Rock Crab, too. The Dungeys had to be 7" across the shell to take them, and they had a limit. Smallest haul, from the combo of the two different crab was 24. Largest haul was 36. One tank of air. I would take the entire next day to cook them all, but it was worth it.

Sell the gun now - gun prices right now are pretty crazy, new and used. Use the funds from it to build something else that will be around for awhile. Build your own gun, From Aero Precision M5 upper and lower pieces. It'll be around forever. Just my $0.02 on it all - get out of that DPMS G II while the market is hot for ANY gun out there...

Wilson Combat's Paul Howe 6.5C Rifle

That Ranger profile that they make is a lighter profile version of the Recon - but they're both badass barrel profiles. For any standard caliber, I'm all about Ballistic Advantage, and preferrably their Mk12 SPR profiles. For weird calibers, I'm all over the Wilson Combat offerings - they do it all. -
Phonecall to them is the only way to know. Remington killed off the DPMS brand. Call them and ask about parts availability.

Here are some older articles I've saved on this mindset - they're all good, and worth the read, individually. @Madhouse https://www.offgridweb.com/preparation/50-shades-of-gray-man-blending-in-versus-standing-out/ https://www.offgridweb.com/preparation/survival-self-awareness-the-gray-man/ https://www.recoilweb.com/gray-man-in-kabul-beyond-the-t-walls-150137.html

You're in my old stompin' grounds, down there in Sierra Vista. I was there several times through the years for a couple schools, then there full-time from 2004 to 2013, almost continuous. We have a great group of AZ guys here, and get together often. We also have a great group of guys that WISH they were AZ guys, too, and they get together with us twice a year. Welcome aboard.

With the Valk torn down to do all the 6 ARC testing, my Valk is done until the LaRue stuff comes in for the real 6 ARC. I don't see my Valk coming back up before the Fall Shoot, and don't think I'll have enough time to get any real load RE-development done for it. It'll be ready for the Spring Shoot in NC, though. @Matt.Cross

I need to get on that box of 500 105gr RDFs that @DNP listed on my build thread, and work a load up for those.
-
Damn, - they also has 108 ELD-Ms listed as in stock, too, last week when I checked. I'm sitting on 600 of the projectiles, so I'm good for right now. Need brass, though. Good heads-up, brother.
-
Hell yeah, @Bear!!!
-
Ooooh!!! That's my bitch, right there!
-
That Alliant Reloder 22 is by far my favorite powder for .300 Win Mag, brother - hands down. It works great. That stuff has my 225gr ELD-Ms moving at 2805 fps from a 26" barrel. It's magic.

DAAAAAMN!!! I'm on MidSouth all the time and didn't see it!

Wilson Combat's Paul Howe 6.5C Rifle
98Z5V replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
They're still only doing the 20" and 24" for .260 Rem. Way more demand for the 6.5C with the Gamer crowd, so it gets the 16". Custom 16" .260 Rem barrels are a possibility, when all this silliness dies down. It'll be the Ranger profile that they make (damn good profile). My next barrel from them will be the 16" 7mm-08, in the Recon Tactical profile. -
Bill, where did you find the brass?

My 18" Grendel SPR is 8.4 mils of drop at 850 yards. No guns in the truck - I never leave firearms in a vehicle. It ended up on an indian res.
-
Shot850 yards last Sunday, 16 Aug. 7.1 mils of drop at 850 yards. Unreal. More details coming. I've been sidetracked by my truck being stolen sometime between the evening of 17 Aug and morning of 18 Aug. Recovered today, by the Local PD knock on my door. Been dealing with some shiit. I have 99 problems, but 6 ARC ain't one of them. It's fucking STELLAR. Thus far, it's smoking 6.5 Grendel, by leaps and bounds - which smoked my .308s, and everything else. It's all that, that they said it was, and it's much, much more... The 6ARC is the real deal, and I don't toss that about lightly...

That is a real PRI Gen II rail - and it needs a different top rail, in order to make a Mk12. Pri still has the Gen II top rails, though. Same price as the Gen III stuff. The PRI Gen III stuff is an improvement over the Gen II parts, FWIW. Technology and advancements, and all. If that rail can save money, it's worth it, if you're going all the way, in the long run. Otherwise, the Gen III stuff is (hardware) mo' bettah. Just my $0.02 on it all.

You're an awesome guy, Clint - many commendations coming your way. Keep up with the VLTOR A5 buffers - I turned to you a couple months ago, because VLTOR - and all other vendors - don't have them. I'll convert two other guns to your VLTOR A5 H3 buffers shortly - the one I got from you is FAR SUPERIOR to the other guns running the A5H2s in them. Your H3 is hands-down better than those other two. You do amazing work, man. P.S. We're not Recoil-System Dummies here, anymore. Far from it.

That's not gonna get it off her - plus, she's HAWT like THAT!...
-
That's not some home-made piece - it's a factory "AOW" gun, takes a Tax Stamp and the waiting period for a Tax Stamp, and manufactured just like that.
