I have a retirement plan for us that you're not seeing yet. Or, not realizing yet. We're "working" at Gunsite - "RETIRED," of course! We find a niche there... because we're NOT MainStream bastards - we're Niche Motherfuckers.... and we're done. We do what we want, but play with rifles, when we want - on Gunsite grounds. Here's our drive-route from home-to-work, brother. It's pretty simple - for what we have to do. This is almost like a vacation, homie. We're 45 minutes from work - when we want to work, brother... I'm just sayin'... They below "map" is posted at speed limits. Nobody in AZ drives the speedlimits...

I don't know, brother - we'll put the paper up at 850, and see how many different sized hole we can recover from it... and what they look like, sizewise... I think this thing is a winner. I'm skeered to admit that I think it might be that Magic Unicorn... the Grendel Killer. Initial drop test at 500 has the 18" Grendel a 3.4 mils (which is incredible), and the 18" 6 ARC at 2.6 mils. That is the exact reason (and shock), that it MUST go 850 this weekend. And it will. I's a pretty crazy projectile and load, from my very minor testing of it thus far. It's pretty badass. I don't throw that out there lightly, especially when I'm talking about my Grendels. I have some BAD Grendels.

@Rsquared - if you move to Skull Valley with me, then we'll actually be about 30 mins from Gunsite Academy. THAT is our retirement job, brother - working at Gunsite.

Hell fuckin YEAH, brother. Here's the highs/lows for Skull Valley for the same timeframe. Yeah, I get it, AZ is hot in the summer - but this is MUCH better... And motherfuckers have to address the bills that they send to you to RON@ SKULL VALLEY, AZ... When you call in to complain about a bill - bet they FUCKIN' LISTEN!... Skull Valley Weather, my brother: ^^^ THAT is a "Dry-Heat" that's actually bearable, right there. That's easy-street...
  6. Any regular old non-fancy castle nut and endplate that you can stake properly.
  7. He's probably SLAMMED right now - because all other buffers, everywhere, are virtually non-existent. You can order a buffer from him today, and if it's not already made, he'll make it tomorrow, and send it out. But,... ...how many people are turning to him right now? I know I ordered my 6 ARC VLTOR A5 buffer from him on a Saturday - and he sent me tracking info on SUNDAY... I don't know what kind of connections he has at the Post Office, but that tracking number was LIVE - on a SUNDAY...
  8. ^^^ That pistol shoots SO DAMN NICE!...

For some reason, I missed tomorrow and Friday in that crop that I did - and it started with Saturday... Thursday and Friday are gonna suck, too... The only thing that would make it better, is if it sucked MORE!!!... Sssshhhhhh!!! Shuddup already, dummasss!...

Worst summer we've had here in AZ for alot of years, brothers. Record high number of days over 110 - broke that number last week, and we have a full week of "around 115*" all this week. ZERO Monsoon rains in sight, to chill this shiit down a little. It's just a shiitty summer here. Bottom line - you don't stop doing things that you like to do, and you don't let weather affect you. Deal with it, but be smart about it. I'm not just an "it's always hot..." guy. In a past life, I lived a week in a snow cave in Alaska, at -50* (that's MINUS FIFTY DEGREES)... ...and that sucked, too. When you have a good cold sump in there, and the candles can get it up to 38* or 39* in there, it's like heaven - inside. I've jumped into a Drop Zone at -20*, and that's ambient air temp - not with the wind chill of a C-141 flying 130 knots, before you get out of that fucker... There's a reason that I live in a hot-ass place now, by my own choice... Be an extreme person. Learn how to deal with extreme shiit. It just makes you a better person, overall. Or, it means you're just stupid, for subjecting yourself to that kind of bullshiit in the first place... If you've done it, and you're still here - you have some BITCHIN' stories to tell about it. No matter how dumb you were at the time... My coming week is bullshiit... Bright side x2 here - it's not gonna be 118* like it was a few weeks ago - and that SUCKED... and - I'm gonna get some badass hot-weather data for me guns, with MV numbers, that I wouldn't be able to replicate until this time next year. Gotta look at the "bright side" of how much something sucks, and you'll always be alright...
  11. Things are starting to make sense here, with your comment... I get calls when you're on your way home from work - "How you DOIN' BROTHER?!" and we talk, and you arrive home... You keep talking, and I'm hearing ALL KINDS of commotion on my side, and I'm thinking you're being ROBBED, man! I say, "MATT!!! YOU OKAY, BROTHER?!!?..." And your response is, "Oh yeah - I'm fine. I'm just loading up the dishwasher..." NOW.... NOW, I know what you were talking about... You go, brother!... You CAUSED that earthquake the other day in NC, didn't ya? It was in your neck of the woods, too...
  12. I''m glad I'm your Interpreter - but I left you hanging on that one. I should have backed you up...

Plan right now stays the same, shoot 850 and determine drop at that distance, this coming Sunday, 16 Aug. My Lee crimp die shows up Monday, 17 Aug, so I'll get 50 test loads made up, and shoot those the following Sunday, 23 Aug. Hopefully, by the time I shoot those first handloads, I'll have some fancy LaRue parts on the way, and I can paint a bitch the following weekend after that... Bottom line is: this thing MUST be done, in final form, scope zero'd, handload developed, tested and locked in... prior to 5 Nov. That's a must. We'll see. This Sunday's plan is locked in, though - it's going on the 850, and I'll have the dope for that up here that afternoon.
  14. That, plus carbon fouling, which will seal the gas block to the barrel, and gas tube to the gas block. It needs shot more, with heavy lube.
  15. The recoil spring is gonna be fine, but if you're worried about it, put in a genuine Armalite EA-1095 spring. What's your gas port diameter, what's the protrusion of the gas tube into the upper receiver? <<<Pic of this one. How wet was it when you shot it? Almost dripping, with lube, or not? 30 rounds isn't anywhere near enough to break one of these big bastards in...
  16. You call us, describe the problem accurately - with measurements if requested of you - and we help you fix it yourself. Runability issues are right up our alley. You break a part - you might indeed be SOL...
  17. She's just straight up HOT...
  18. I'm IN!!! Right now in AZ, we only have Chino Valley. The 31Oct-1Nov class is the 2-day one, and I'd take that over the 1 day class that they're offering 3 days from now... I'd drive west to shoot with you and the eldest, too - can I get a Ruger 10/22 across state lines, into Enemy Teritory, and still not be labeled as a Felon?... If so, I'm DOWN...
  19. if you want to get REALLY lightweight, play with 2055 Lithium Aluminum... Magnesium + Fire = one HELL of a bright fire! Burn a magnesium engine case in a bonfire, and see for yourself... Then, these are definitely NOT "AR-10s". You are NOT manufacturing "AR-10s" at all. You are manufacturing .308ARs in the DPMS-Based Pattern. I hope, as a manufacturer, that you understand the differences between the two platforms - because there ARE differences. If you never new the differences, then you probably shouldn't be the marketing guy for this company. Sorry if I sound like a dickhead, but you straight up signed up here and started pimping product for your company, and you are not an advertiser here. I can go into more board rules, if you'd like, since you obviously never read them in the first place. Lemme know.
  20. same/same. It'll work just fine. This is my preferred method, for everything these days. I have both geissele's, (big/little) and there's no AR that can't be built with them. Same tool, different name. Pretty damn tough to try to wear one of them out - probably never happen.
  21. Once you get down to those 4 x 400s, it might seem like alot of time - but the pressure is ON!... I'm still listed as an Appleseed Instructor, so I can sign in to the store and buy up some targets. We actually talked about doing this during a Fall Shoot a few years ago. Run a 1-day, unofficial Appleseed, right in the middle of the Fall Shoot.

Lee shipped my Factory Crimp Die for this beast today, even though the website says it's still "out of stock, backorder yours today." Don't be afraid to order one, reloaders. Wasn't supposed to available for a few more days, website says the 14th. https://leeprecision.com/factory-crimp-die-6mm-arc.html
  23. And the opposite is quite true - manufacturers that want to save money on a cheap, too-light buffer, whatever spring they throw in, and the compensate for that light buffer in this system by intentionally making a gas port smaller than it should be... That's just cutting corners to save a buck, and hope most people won't notice. That's what a company that sound like BS-Hay does...
