  1. Sign-Language Interpreter NAILED that one, for certain...
  2. 12.5" SIG 716 .308Win piston-system barrels - that we run as DI Gas Guns... These are were the CDNN blow-out barrels for $49.95. Mine was a 12.5" barrel with a 0.750" journal diameter, 0.070" gas port diameter. Dwell time measurement on my barrel was 3.500", center of gas port to end of barrel crown - this might be important later, because you carefully need to measure YOURS. On that barrel config, I needed a gas tube that was exactly 11.000" long. Perfect calculation and measurement, once the custom gas tube arrived from White Oak Armament. Gas tube was perfect, and WOA nailed what I asked them to do/make. Functional test - this 0.070" gas port diameter gonna work on a 12.5" barrel, with a 3.500" dwell time?... First round lock back, virgin gun, lubed properly, one round in the mag. Gas port was right on it. This gun runs. Recoil system details are: 7.000" internal depth AR15 receiver extension (what comes with the SBA3 kit), hybrid (home-cobbled) 2.500" buffer that's 5.7oz, and a Sprinco Orange spring. There are some people reporting, and posting accurate verified pics, of needing a gas tube length that was 11.250". That's a longer gas tube, and that shortens dwell time, on an already shortass barrel. No details on their recoil systems, but that's something to be aware of - if you HAVE one of these barrels, you better measure three times before you order a custom gas tube. And the only place on the planet that is making custom AR gas tubes is White Oak Armament. If you're building one of these, pay attention...
  3. "Tell Osama To Suck It..." I love musicians that support the military, and 5FDP is at the very top of that peak. Rock is right there tight, too...
  4. Welcome aboard, man. Anything you tumble into along the way that trips you up - just ask. Someone here has seen it, or had it happen to them, and we've figured out WTF is was that caused it. We sometimes forget where the info is, but we'll find it, eventually... Glad to have you.
  5. These two get Honorable Mention, after what DNP posted...
  6. ^^^ I LIKE IT!!!
  7. Here's another great one - Dr. Hal Kushner. He spent 5 years as a POW in Viet Nam.
  8. One of the greatest speech-presenting Presidents we've ever had as a country.
  9. On another note - got to run the new IWI semi-auto shotgun today, too. 5-shot tube, three of them, rotating. 15 loaded, with another in the chamber. This is sweet.
  10. Complete success this morning, complete. Didn't have to touch the 0.070" gas port, not even a little. The 11.000" gas tube is right on the money, length-wise, and the very first round out of the gun locked the BCG back on the empty mag. This thing ran like a champ. I had an old batch of 150 FMJ-BT handloads that I wanted to shoot up, so I fed it the whole bag. There were about 80 left in that bag, and this thing ate 'em all and didn't eve hiccup once. Damn, I love this little bastard. Even the iron sights were right on, right out of the package and onto the gun. GPJohn had two 8" plates set up at 30 yards, and it was .308-on-steel right away. I'm sure they need tweaked a little, but I didn't even take targets out there today - just wanted to get this thing to run - and, MAN does it run! Now, I wish I would have taken some real targets, and dialing this thing for 50 yards. I've been on a Primary Arms pre-order for about a month and a half for this: https://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-slxz-advanced-rotary-knob-micro-red-dot-sight-fde Got my shipping notification yesterday. This thing went together smoothly.
  11. No matter what, in this free world, brother. No way... ...Can you EVER go wrong with chainsaws and generators. It's not even possible. You've done well, I commend you, and I'm jealous...
  12. ^^^ his big brother needed his ass kicked YEARS before. Just my $0.02 on that fucker.
  13. "4-Minute Mile"... just finished it right now. Powerful movie. Quite worth your time.
  14. @392heminut - Larry, lemme know when you'll be in CG next. I'm in for a bunch of tickets, brother. Bring $100 worth. I might get lucky this time.
  15. Remember, Honor, and be Eternally Grateful... for those that gave all for you, so you can live the life that you do and have. Without them, you and I wouldn't be here right now, living the life that we can and do. Without them, we wouldn't be the free country that we are, with the possibilities that we have, and the opportunities that are at our feet. What we do, from now on, with what they sacrificed to give us right now... that's on us. Let's not let them down. They gave everything.
  16. ^^^ For the origins on that one...
  17. Damn. I was looking for a companion to this one - it's an old IBM. I did the Ultimak top rail on it and red-dotted it. This would work well, scoped, if it was an extended eye relief scope or a pistol scope. M1 Carbine won't need magnification, though, for what it is. I'll keep this one forever, love it.
  18. Good work - we'll get it running. Punch it up one more time, and you're there. Make sure you let us know what the final port diameter is. I keep saying 0.080" for a .260 Rem with a 20" barrel and rifle gas, 0.750 journal diameter - but mine is actually 0.081". Minor detail, but it all comes for to the drill bits used. I measure every one that I use, before I use it - some are a thou larger or smaller than adverstised, but I measure them just to know what's what.
  19. Well, that's a different turn of events, BUT... How you feeling about that Inland M1?... If you still have it, and it's gotta go, too, I'm here for you, brother...
  20. This little fucker is ready to go. The WOA gas tube came in today - perfect timing for the weekend. It's getting shot in the morning, and that gas port is gonna get drilled until it runs right. Lube will definitely NOT be the issue - she's ready, as far as that goes. The 11.000" White Oak gas tube worked out perfect. Measurements were on the money for that one. We've seen one recently that someone order a 11.250" gas tube, and it looks/ends just like mine. It's SUPER important to measure each one of these SIG 12.5" barrels before you just blindly order a gas tube, just because someone else had a length that worked. With the report of the 11.250" tube that looked just like mine above, I'm convinced that these barrels were blown out because the gas-port-drilling-monkey at SIG was just putting them where he wanted them - whatever worked on that shift. That's the only answer for a quality barrel like this, blown out at $50 each - they were blems, because the port distances weren't uniform. With my measurements, I determined that I needed an 11.000" gas tube for mine. Ordered it via WOA website, didn't have to talk to John on the phone. Told them I needed 11.000" OAL with a .308AR/AR-10 bend in the tube. That's exactly what I received. And exactly what I needed. With my gas port location, I'm exactly 3.500" from the center of the gas port to the end of the barrel - 3.500" dwell time. Those with longer gas tubes, like the 11 1/4" gas tube here - that's a shorter dwell time, down to 3.250" dwell. Which one is what SIG really designed? Who knows. That dwell time difference will definitely affect whatever we need for a functional gas port diameter, though, when the barrel is this short, and the dwell time is this short.
  21. Cool, I get it. I saved my Corona Charts from yesterday anyway. Double-dipper in today's update.
  22. The board broke last night? What was going on? I couldn't even attempt to respond/reply to anything. Tried to send @Matt.Cross a PM, and that wasn't allowed. What happened? 2 hrs ago, @RedRiverII sends me a PM, and says he's locked out somehow. No further details other than that.
  23. Helmet/Ministry/Anthrax concert was one of the most badass things I've ever witnessed in my life. Fucking UNREAL. You know what I'm talking about. Next runner-up was Lollapalooza '93, at The Gorge At George, in Washington. Great venue, mind-blowing line-up. Weekend long party.
  24. Eddie was always "Mr. 800 Meters..." @Cali_Ed
