  1. 4-40 set screws. If you found the info I posted - that I can't even find now, good work... I've used 6-32 set screws with good effect. You can just tap the hole for a 4-40, but for the 6-32, you have torun a drill bit first, ream that hole size up, before you run the 6-32 tap in there. Good work, man. Good job researching all this stuff, too - you're putting in the work to make your gun run, and that's appreciated here, more than you know.
  2. That's a full factory rifle, of good quality. You didn't build a damn thing on it. You bought it. What's your gas tube length? Buffer weight? internal depth of your receiver extension? Gas port diameter? You don't know... you didn't have to figure it out, as you built it, and had issues. You bought rack-gun off a store shelf. That sample size of one is correct- for a good quality factory-built rifle. It's no LaRue rifle, or a full-on Wilson Combat, but it's a good quality rifle. Don't sweat him, brother - he built nothing here. He bought a gun, and shot it. He might have missed the part where I can break in a new AR15 with zero lube - because all the manufacturers have to be on the same page, or the built gun doesn't work. That's not .308AR stuff, though. Let him think what he thinks. He's cool.
  3. This is exactly what I do, too. I made a jig to work, and didn't buy a jig to get it done. Well done, man.
  4. Read this thread, and look at the detail on parts that this guy posted, and look at the responses he got - this is the level of detail needed here, in order to figure out what's REALLY going on with your gun.
  5. Okay.
  6. The only issue I ever had with my XDs-45 was self induced - I shot it like I'd shoot a 1911, and I was limp-wristing that little gun. It only took 2 mags to figure out what I was doing, and it stopped the issue by choking up on it. Limping it cause it to stop the slide from fully going forward. I'd see it, and have to bump it forward. Once I held onto it for real, that went away. It's been flawless ever since. I'm talking about the XDs-45 here, and not the XD-45. Talking about that little bastard.
  7. Hey brother - did you do this version of it, through SA LEO sales? Looks alot like the Glock Blue Label program. https://www.springfield-armory.com/law-enforcement/
  8. Same here. When I picked mine up, it was like winning Gun Store Lottery - it's the full grip, 4" barrel, thumb safety version - the LEO pistol config. I love that pistol.
  9. Does this tire make my ass look fat?...
  10. This all started from the HS2000...
  11. But I pulled it off... That was the basics, brother. It goes WAY more into detail at SS20. There's some real psychology involved in it, and real "mechanical manipulation." SS20 pistol classes gonna get real. It'll change what you think you know, pistoleers. I've got some bitchin' drills and training lined up, and I hope like hell that @blue109 can bring his buddy up here for it - that guy is a different aspect completely, and totally new ideas and methods... It'll be a dumpster-fire waiting to happen...
  12. There is no good use for a 3oz or 3.8oz 2.500" .308AR buffer - a contest for one of those POS buffers should only consist of Tannerite. See who can hit the biggest charge with one of those things sitting on top, and blow it the furthest. That's the best use of a POS buffer like that. It's an aluminum-bodied buffer, though, and they only make 3.8oz (max they'll every get) by stuffing two tungsten weights in it - so take out the tungsten before we send it to the moon...
  13. I have a plan for you that will change your fundamental shooting practices. You just need to get down here for a shoot. I'm launching it live at Spring Shoot this year, but I debuted it on @Matt.Cross at the last Fall Shoot - at 3am, one of those nights during the shoot. I can change your pistol shooting style, and you're my perfect candidate. I kid you not.
  14. NICE!!!
  15. I like where this is going, man - keep it up!!!
  16. ^^^ I love this guy, right here...
  17. Yeah, I looked at that pic specifically. Ejection in these things is all about whether your gas system is what it needs to be, and your recoil system is what it needs to be - if they're not, your ejection is either wild or mild - if those two systems aren't prefectly balanced. This isn't AR15-world, where everything had a definitive spec to meet. Hell, I can break in a new AR15 bone dry, zero lube. Not so with a .308AR. So, first, we here went through the details of this OPs gun - it's straight. He built it right. Only thing left - might be that ejector, since we can't confirm that - but we can confirm, through posted pics, that the rifle looks dry. That pic you quoted looks like what happens with a dry .308AR gun - but you have to find out the hardware situation first, which we did. We eliminated everything we could eliminate. Lube it, run it with factory, quality ammo, and break it in...
  18. I'll risk it, men - it's worth it. If it works, it's legend. If it fails, it's pure comedy. That's the way I made all my military decisions, anyway, and there's one major factor that drives it all, once it's said an done, and you're doing the AARs. "Yeah, we could have done this - this way, and that - that way - but did it look cool?..." ^^^ That's a self-deprecating joke, for the one that would instantly jump on it and call it "Narcissistic" of me - which is bullshiit, about me...
  19. The capability is there to run the long side to the front sling swivel, get the buckle where you need it to tension the sling, and run it that way. I didn't say it looked like a Ching Sling - but it's got the capability to run it in the manner that you can hook your non-firing elbow through that loop, move that arm back close to your body, and tension the rifle. Just like a sniper's cuff - without the actual cuff. Just like you'd run a Ching Sling... You have a loop - you put your elbow through the loop, you move that arm down/back and tension the rifle. @Charlie - send it to me, and I'll mount it up and demonstrate it in a video, then send it back. The video goes up in this thread. When I send it back, I'll throw money in there to cover the shipping that you had to pay to get it to me. This thing will work...
  20. This is hilarious - coming from the Eye Doctor...
  21. Hang onto that sling, @Charlie - I have an idea of what the design is for. I'm trying to find out who makes it. It's a basic rifle sling, but it's made to be used like a Ching Sling. I'll find it... This is a Ching Sling:
  22. Oh Lordy, here goes the resurgence in the Tractor Porn thread...
  23. ^^^ I had the exact same concerns that he did above ^^^. ToolCraft BCG, Armalite AR-10 recoil system, complete, and call Live Free Armory about using that lower parts kit. The Aero has longer pins, and there's something about my Live Free receiver set that I had to use a certain bolt catch. I can't remember exactly what the issue was, but I ended up with the right one. Live Free's pins were different, too... I know I got one of them from someone here, and the other from someone here...
  24. That rifle extention kit would work well - rifle receiver extention and buffer are good. Spring is unknown. Run it and see. If the spring is an issue, just swap in an Armalite EA1095 spring and you're set. The MagPul PRS 3 will work on rifle receiver extentions or mil-spec sized carbine receiver extensions (OD = 1.14").
  25. Great news, man!!! Right on!!! If I ever drive across country again, I'll definitely plan the route through your area - just be a good time, regardless. Glad that worked out. I've done that drive alot - southwest to northeast - 10 to 20 to 30 to 40 - I've been close and didn't even know it. I'll do it again, AZ to OH, I just don't know when...
