  1. Yeah, Brother, now we're talking!!! Let's get this beast going!...

    My first 7.62x39 AR

I'm using Accurate 1680 for my 300BLK loads, but I've used alot of H110 in the past - and I only load 150gr Hornady FMJ-BT projectiles. Both powders perform excellently.
  3. Fuckin' AWESOME, Mike!
  4. Those little bastards are EXCELLENT, man. I tailored my handload to duplicate those, and I'm pretty damn close. So close I can't tell a difference if I switch between the two. Great ammo for the Grendel. I can give you all the drop-data you need for those things, at just about any distance.
  5. That's about what I'm going to. I have two fullsize 35" spares for the big truck, just because it does distance. This trip totally screwed me in the little Nissan. Maybe even one fullsize spare, plus the donut. Sucks, but it is what it is, I guess. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes - drive in the desert, get multiple flat tires - even for the first time. I'm going to all off-road 6-ply Load Range C minimum tires on that little heffer, at a minimum.
  6. More details on caliber would be necessary, based on your first post, and this is predominantly a .308 Winchester-based board. You can understand that, I'm sure. Yes, though, there are tons of M5 sets on here that have been built up, in multiple calibers. More specific details in what you're exactly looking for would be greatly helpful.
  7. The Hornady Black loading is a 123gr ELD-M projectile, man. Hornady American Gunner is a 120gr OTM projectile - you sure which one you have? Got a pic of the ammo? I can tell right away which one it is.
  8. If you do this, and use both-eyes-open, it's really easy to pick up the sights with the opposite eye. Left handed, gun canted, use your right eye. It's freaky how fast it lines up.
  9. Guys, I'm just a dummy with guns and lots of tools. I've just been fortunate enough to work around some of the most badass armorers on the planet, and play with alot of things that shoot, blow up, or detonate. I appreciate the comments, but I just try to help people understand what's going on with their weapon, and why. Once you know how and why it works like it does, it's easier to pinpoint issues when they come up.
  10. That's "heeling" brother - your grip is too tight. Practice this - grab that pistol with the left hand, sight through the sights, and start gripping/squeazing until the sights start to shake. Back the grip tension off until the sights settle back down - that's your perfect grip tension, right when those sights settle down... That will definitely change where the rounds are impacting.
  11. Once I send it out, he can use it for whatever he wants... I wondered why he ran out so soon...
  12. I've got one for you, and two for Matt. I'll get more from JB Matt and get it going to Lonewolf.
  13. Damn, Shepp, that thing is BAD!!!
  14. Eh, had to get the point across - we'll get you running, fear not.
  15. As you and I both know, @308kiwi, it's a sectional density thing. You get that .308 projectile at or above a 178gr projectile, and the sectional density goes through the roof, incrementally - that's what makes an accurate bullet. Go fat, guys - that's where it's at... I kid you not. There's alot more coming up about my 195s in a .308 Win distance loading...
  16. Fuckin' AWESOME! I've loaded up some (supersonic) Hornady 195gr ELD-M projectiles in .308 Win loads for the 20" bolt gun, which is a 1:10" twist - and the barrel has ZERO problems stabilizing those at longer distances. I've said for a long time that the typical .308 loads we have are all shiit - ALL the bullets need to be WAY heavier. The twist rate is already there, with 1:10". That twist can handle up to 210gr easily, and handle the loads/projectiles. You start looking at the BCs of .308 projectiles, and it doesn't get serious under 178gr. Things REALLY start to get interesting ABOVE that weight. That's the very reason I won't load anything UNDER 178gr Hornady HPBT for my loads. You have hit a good combination, my good man.
  17. I cleaned up 500 Hornady Match .308 cases, that will get sized into.260 Rem. After sizing them, all those necks need to be turned down. Well, maybe not all of them - every single one of them is different when they go through the neck sizer. Some are a little here, a little there. After that sizer though, they are all the same, uniform, and ready to go.

Now we're talkin'... I'm all over this .260 Rem gas gun shiit, brother. ALL over it.
  19. Against a fucking MOUNTAIN LION... COUGAR, any other name you can throw at that animal. That's a bad motherfucker, that often doesn't get killed - it does the killing. This guy did it with ZERO outside weapons. None. This guy is a badass. That's all there is to it. Critique him all you want - then kill a Mountain Lion, with no external weapons, and tell me how he did it wrong... I'll wait for your story... I'M NOT FUCKING TRYING IT...
  20. He might be the man-bun hippy type. Might be a full-on Fag-O-Saurus. I don't care about that, not even a little. When it was time to go Caveman, he went Caveman. He had to be a Savage, in order to be alive, and he went full-on Savage. I don't care how gay he might appear - when it was time to work, he did it. He crushed a windpipe, when that was what it took to save his own life.
  21. And...did they tell you WHY that is?... What was their explanation on that?
  22. Just to break it all down for you, the PSA "Gen 1" was so fucked up they stopped making it, and dragged their asses back to the drawing board, to fix their serious mistakes. The PSA "Gen 2" is just the formulation of hardware improvements they made to get their platform out of "Completely Proprietary," and into the real world of making some of their stuff work with SOME other manufacturers parts. That has ZERO to do with any DPMS G II platforms, which are .308ARs, but in a smaller package. ALL THAT SHIIT IS PROPRIETARY. DPMS tried to make a .308AR that is as small as an AR15, except for the size of the magwell. THAT is the DPMS G II. Smaller .308AR... "GEN TWO" when you see it, is like comparing apples and oranges hammers. It's just not even the same, so don't confuse it. In this world, those terms do NOT mean "compatibility" - they just mean, "Some dumbass manufacturer decided to do their OWN THING and hang a new name on it..." I kid you not. Welcome aboard - there's a steep learning curve ahead for you, with what you've stated already, and what you thought you understood. It'll all get worked out, though. You need to be patient, and not get pissed off when you state things that are completely off the wall - based on what you think your understanding is inside this platform. You've said enough already to make my brain do cheetah-flips, with all that's wrong with it. Hang on, slow down, help is coming... Gen 2 is NOT Gen II...WORLDS apart...

You fuckers impress me, like you have no idea. I mean that. I'm running down on 51 in month or so, and Ive abused my body so bad it's not even funny. The shiit I've done to myself, I didn't realize, when I was doing it, and I'm paying for it. Neck and back. I'll never stop - you can't stop me, you can only hope to contain me, but I'm slower now than I was before - and that pisses me off. Everytime I slow down, I only want to get stronger, just to overcome what made me slow down. I never had to battle this before, a I'm trying to find new ways to beat it down. I hate it.
