  1. The WidowMakers... Those were NASTY! I almost had my hands on an old Suzuki WaterBuffalo a few years ago. I was SO close. The old GT750 2-stroke triple. Damnit.
  2. Kenny Roberts was one of my favorites.
  3. That's the damn truth, right there...
  4. Here's a "HIGHLIGHT REEL" of that long video I posted above... My dirtbike roots, and the Moto GP 500cc 2-strokes, is why I always lusted after a Honda CR500... That might explain my sickess a little... I've got size 11 MX boots. Gauge your feet, men. If any of you can put that boot on - and start it - then you can ride it. If your feet are smaller, you might be okay. If your feet are bigger - I wouldn't suggest trying to start this thing without a boot...
  5. I am old skool on Moto GP. It was 500cc 2-strokes. Those things fucked riders up. You couldn't control them. You only hoped to contain them. Like me. This vid rocks it. It's well worth watching. I grew up on dirtbikes (2-stroke, of course), but I always watched Moto GP - those guys were badass... My first - and last - crotch rocket was a 1987 Kawasaki Ninja 600RX. I didn't even know what I bought, until I totaled it. It was a limited edition, built on the aluminum GPZ400 race frame, and they only made 1k of them. I fucked that bike up, by hitting a groundhog. That began my intense hatred for wildlife... and I was lucky to live through it. You think I hate beavers... I hate groundhogs worse...
  6. Good. I hope everyone drops him. He deserves about what this fuckhead got...
  7. Look around and find that guy, brother - he can definitely build a badass drag chassis. !!! Damn! That car is badass. You got any details on that car in your pic, above? It looks kinda serious...
  8. I knew this title would draw Shepp... Give a shout-out, brother! You gotta know this place! It's in the vid, about the 3:00 mark - but don't skip! This is a badass car...
  9. Damn nice truck, man! I'll never own black, white, or red vehicles again. Black and white show EVERYTHING. Red just attracts the cops... I never drove that red RX-7 slow, though...
  10. @Hey-Who I like how you dodged my question on your claim. Why don't you answer that one?...
  11. Cerakote "Colt Gray," brother.
  12. You just need a longer magazine and a chamber reamer. The bases on both those are the same. No different bolt, no different barrel extension - they headspace the same. 7.62x51 vs. 7.62x63. 30-06 is 7.62x63, and .308 Win is 7.62x51, which is a shortened 7.62x63. Buffer length will be a challenge. The buffer will have to be shorter, to allow that 308 BCG to travel further rearward, with the longer case length. Then, you get into receiver extension length... Shiit, RRA did it, with their standard receiver extensions, short buffers, and longer BCGs...
  13. His team dropped his ass, too. He lost his sponsor. I hope the rest of the people treat him like Kaepernick, and don't pick him up. He has a history of being a complete dick in the race circuit.
  14. You won't be risking the carrier going back too far - if you stack quarters. This bumper is shortened. You'll definitely need to make up that distance. The bumper hits the rear everytime - sometimes HARD, sometimes just a little. If it hits it hard, and your recoil spring is right - you need a heavier buffer. If it barely "taps" it, you might never notice the problem. But your spring might be too strong, your gas port just a bit undersized, or you might need a lighter buffer... If the recoil system matches the gas system, there is contact at the back of the receiver extension every single time. That's what that bumper does, and you see the "bulged" or "flattened" ones when the spring is too weak, the buffer is too light, or the gas system is way overgassed. If the bumper slams the extension everytime, something is out of whack in one of those two systems. We're talking about an AR15 here, so the possibility of damage is less, than a .308, but you'd still have to make up the difference in the length of how much this bumper has been shortened. I have the numbers, and can give you the quarter-count to do it. Here's some examples: This is an A2 screw in an A1 stock... Doesn't really pertain, but people do it... This comes from those "perfect" receiver extensions that are too long, internally: This is why I bitch so much about .308AR recoil systems, and the minimum buffer weight of 5.4 oz, plus the minimum spring strength of the Armalite EA1095 spring. More spring power might be necessary - less is never good. It doesn't work out well.
  15. Any of you guys watch Moto GP? This guy has been an asshead for years now. The latest - he had contact with another racer, and they both went off the track - no injuries, nobody went down, no damage to bikes. SO... they get back out on the course, and Fenati grabs the other guy's front brake lever... while they're going 130...
  16. That buffer bumper was cut short, to make it RRA-compatible. It won't work in his setup. Or anything, really. It would work if he stacks up a bunch of quarters, sothat part is a go - if @blue109 wants to do that.

    Maybe, that might be IT!!!...
  18. The Hornady part number in those bitchin' 225gr SSTs in .338 cal is 33202. They're so damn big that they don't offer them in bulk, either, but that's the part # for the box of 100 projos. Side note - the .260 Rem shoots WELL. The chamber was sticking a few rounds, so I polished it once I got back. It's 100% better now, but that's how we find these things out. It was tight, and left a few circular marks around the ejected brass. It didn't fail to cycle, though. That Armalite AR-10 Rifle Gas Tube will aid this issue a little, too, once I get it in there. So, those 130 SGKs, and my load of RL22. That's a no-go. That was 47.3 grains. The first two round flattened and cratered the primers pretty good. Nothing blew up, so I shot two more - it pierced those primers. Fucking holes in them. It's a fat projectile, too, so I had to load those at 2.750" to keep them out of the lands. I didn't like that, but oh well. That's how the first one checked out, and that's what I went with. Oh, I necked UP some .243 Win, too, and used it, because I had them (7 pieces, for some reason?...). So, when I saw that case capacity and those longass 130 SGKs going in there, in the initial batch, I decided that I didn't like that, and it was nearing a compressed load - so I switched the rest of the test loads to the 123gr Hornady ELD-Ms that I load in the Grendels. Those 130s were already loaded, about 25 of them, but I didn't shoot anymore of them after that. They'll all get pulled. I worked up 5 each of 47.6, 47.9, 48.2, 48.5 and 48.8. Dropping almost 10 grains in the bullet was the equivalent of dropping a full grain of powder (according to research on the Sierra loadings), so I went with it anyway. The 47.6 charge gave me the best group, but flattened primers. All the rest of the higher loads flattened the primers, too, but I shot them anyway. The groups got worse (opened up), and the ejector smears started showing up at the higher charges. So, looks like my "starting loads" should have been my highest loads. Back to the drawing board on this one. I'll shoot it next Saturday morning or Sunday morning and figure out more on it. I need more 123 ELD-Ms before I can do that. Done shot myself out of those things. Those 130 SGKs won't be forgotten - I need to drop two full grains off that load and start completely over on it.
  19. 2.4 mils of drop at 520 yards?! DAMN!
  20. WTF?!!? ^^^ That's what I'm talking about...
  21. I say we stick to the 225 SSTs in your gun, with RL22 powder. Each one is a 90.0 grain load, and there's 7000 grains in a pound. This is what I ran into last year... I can load 77.777 rounds per pound, not counting any kinda "spillage" I got 76 round loaded last year in a pound, and had a little bit shaking around in the bottom of the can. I had to buy another pound to get the 86 empty cases loaded, that I had from the year before... Which leads me to another problem. I didn't want all that powder "sitting around" for that long, between Fall Shoots, so I had to figure out other loads. 300 Win Mag is a go, so I bought THAT rifle. 260 Rem is a go for RL22 powder, so I built THAT rifle... You've fucked me, brother, and now I have MORE rifles because of that damn powder... I'm not blaming you, really, but... Shiit happens... to me... You're the reason we're even IN this thread right now, talking about this damn 260 Rem... (Like how I brought that all back "on track" right there?... )
  22. When we get into the Hornady 285gr bullets, that's where the super long distance "nerd magic" starts to happen. RL22 powder on those, rocking a max fps of 2750, but the BC is in the higher 700s on all three 285gr projectiles. The 285 ELD-Match has a BC of .789, and the 285 BTHP Match is coming in at .756... That is some serious shiit...
  23. You've got the only caliber that can really do it, brother. 260 Rem will go about 1300. 300 Win Mag might go 1500. 338 Lapua Mag is the only one that can make this happen, at 1760... The Hornady 225 SSTs that I loaded last time have a BC of .515, which is badass. If we move to the 250gr BTHP Match, those things have a BC of .670, which is out of this world. Problem is, you can pick up 100 of those 225 SSTs for cheaper than you can get a 50-box of those 250 BTHPs... If you wanna order up some Hornady projectiles, then order part # 33361. Those are a 50-box of 250 BTHPs. They don't sell them in bulk, so there's no way to save by buying a box of 500... I will load the SHIIT out of those!... They won't make a difference, through your rifle, under 1k yards. They WILL make a difference if we're going longer. They sure will. PS. RL22 powder. Reloder 22, if we stay with the 225 SSTs. If you really wanna go with those 250gr BTHP Match rounds, then it's RL26, Reloder 26. We can push 2950fps with that combination, but we're JAMMING 2900 fps with the 225 SSTs and 90.0 grains of RL22 already. The BC of the bullet is what makes the difference, but it's not alot of difference at 1k. Not out of that gun...

Don't knock that combination of flavors until you try it on a pork butt...
