  1. SS, you have been providing a TON of awesome links and posts. Just want you to know that it's greatly, greatly appreciated. You're awesome, brother.
  2. I would have preferred that setup in Afghani-land, over the M4A1, and day. I'da had a very tough choice if you asked me to pick a 12.5" SR-25 over a Mk12 Mod 0 though, for that shiithole.
  3. Amen, brother - that thing just runs and runs.
  4. Wow, way to make friends and impress others. Nobody here will give you any grief for building a short barreled 308, so you don't need to leap right outta the gate in full a$shole mode. You can leave that for another place. As far as gas system length - that depends on how short you go on your barrel. You'll have a hard time running carbine gas on an 8" barrel, if you end up there. Gas system will mostly be determined by what barrel you get, and where that barrel manufacturer places the gas port. You have little choice in the matter, besides picking your barrel and running with it, unless you're making your own barrel by your own hands. I built a 13.5" 308, and it runs like a champ. I put a 2 3/4" brake on it, so it's not a papered-SBR. This guy built an 8" short barreled 338 Federal SBR:
  5. Damn, that's a great deal - and great upper! You scored on that one big time.
  6. "...so if you have an Android, you're just screwed?..."
  7. No on the "Delta Team Tactical..." This has been talked about. Don't risk it. "Digital Defense Billet Upper Receiver" being the largest OEM manufacturer for the US Military? really? Like SS states, "for what?!..." That's a straight BS statement from them, right there. Google up some "Digital Defense" and see what you guys hit...
  8. Good results!
  9. I think you should wait until she properly wraps it and give it to you in the 25th... Might be trouble if you break into it early, brother!
  10. ^^^ I concur. You cannot beat this trigger for this price.
  11. At $159, it's happening... once it's back in stock... This thing is sweet. Already have the XS Sights and rail, and the new batch of Cerakote came in last week. Paint it as soon as it arrives... Damn...
  12. The damn thing is out of stock already!!!! WTF?!...
  13. Asshead. That's bullshiit...
  14. ^^^ I'm with him on that... Doesn't sound like a good idea, during a Grand Jury investigation of an officer-involved shooting... I can tell you what the POW (Personally Owned Weapons) position is on military aspects - you'll get Court Martialed for a .38 Special... *** DISCLAIMER: I'm NOT a Law Enforcement Officer, never have been, never will be (Their job is harder than a .mil position, and that shiit is hard enough...). I'm also not a lawyer, and cannot advise on law.
  15. I hate my alarm clock already. I really do. I like this thing. Yeah, I'd grab the wrong "nightstand gun" after awhile, and put some .45ACP into that thing...
  16. That's not what we're here for...
  17. Watch Primary Arms for it, brother - when PA throws them on sale, it's for a nickel under $90...
  18. 1,382 days since the last post in this thread - gotta be a new record.
  19. Very interesting, indeed. Good find.
  20. Right off the bat, I think of the DS Arms "Sand Cut" BCG. I picked up one of those not long ago, and it's pretty damn nice. I can see how their "sand cuts" would actually help, and give the BCG room to clear out debris - but you'd have to be in a shooting environment where you'd get that "debris" in there to see the real benefit. https://www.dsarms.com/p-16061-dsa-ar15-m16-cut-ntfe-coated-sand-cut-enhanced-bolt-carrier-group.aspx Second, is the wave of 5.56 BCG with flat sides - reduces friction with the upper, because it's not a round BCG in a round upper channel. I first saw these from ARES Armor (the Reduced Friction BCG) back when, and I have several of them. They're DAMN nice BCGs. They're still out there, by different manufacturers now.
  21. if you read that link, you'll find that it contains a direct phonecall with Tom Irwin of AI on this matter. From that link:
  22. My sentiments, exactly. I wouldn't buy a Hesse/Vulcan/Whatever BCG and expect it to perform miracles, but as long as it's a quality part from a quality vendor, then it's all about the headspace. Nothing more. There's some higher-tech shiit in the 5.56 BCGs now, besides coatings, that could make a difference, but that stuff hasn't trickled into the 308-world yet.
  23. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!! ONE DAY ONLY!!! I haven't shot this fukcer yet, and it's getting some zero on Sunday. Don't know yet if it's gonna be a 200, 300, or 400 yard zero, but it's going down. The dope on the scope on that damn 25-45 is getting run out to 400, too. Had enough of this "not shooting weekends" with the wife. She's gonna zero her damn 5.56 coyote gun, too. I did it last April, but she needs to shoot the thing. Coyote time is comin' up... Damnit...
  24. We need some StainTrain in this one... @StainTrain
