  1. Text from Gun Pusher this morning... (Picture of a carboard box was sent) "I think that's a 6.5 barrel..." My response: "Oh Damn. I will bring you a stack of green dollar bills. Let me go count the stack of ones, the stripper money..." Sure enough, he had the Ballistic Advantage SPR barrel. Guess what I just installed, and just removed... then I installed another one... 6.5 Grendel Mk 12 SPR profile, heavy stainless, rifle gas, measured out a 0.100" gas port diameter.
  2. ^^^ I like that. I hope that's what comes, too.
  3. I don't know about the PSA in specific, but for BCG spares, always get a firing pin, gas rings, cam pin, ejector and extractor (and their parts), and a firing pin retaining pin. Sometimes, you can get crazy, and get another gas key and it's bolts. That's not too common, though. bfoosh is pretty trusted here - I'd send him a DPMS-based BCG to compare to his PSA stuff, and mic it all out and post up the info. That way we could find out the differences, if there are any.
  4. And a canned chicken!...
  5. I was wondering if Angel tried to choke this thing down, and had a bad experience...
  6. Oh, be glad you don't have a pistol-caliber-carbine. If you don't buy a special longer pistol caliber AR buffer, you have to stack $1.75 in those bastards. I have so much money in pistol caliber receiver extensions, I could strip it all out and go on vacation. If you build one of those things down the road, just let go of the $1.75 right away - or you WILL break a bolt stop...
  7. The real deal, no joke, on just about any 308AR that runs a collapsible stock (RRA not included, weird proprietary parts) is the complete Armalite AR-10 Carbine setup. The AR-10 Carbine receiver extension, AR-10 Carbine buffer (which is honestly just an AR-15 H3 Carbine buffer, available anywhere), and the Armalite EA1095 buffer spring. Those parts, combined together, don't fail. They don't have issues. You don't have to measure anything - just put them together, and they run a 308AR. If there are issues beyond that, it's definitely NOT with the recoil system, in the least. All these parts are available at two places, almost all the time - Brownells, and DSG Arms. You'll rarely find them out of stock at either place. Eh, even a blind monkey finds a banana once in awhile. I get lucky sometimes. That's the only reason they haven't thrown me outta here yet... I'll be here all night. Have a great time, don't over do it, and remember to tip your waitress...
  8. That 90 SGK should put a hurt on them... I'd love to see that.
  9. Sounds about what sketch had - damn near 8" internal depth. Off the mark, by a bit. There's a way to fix it - you need to get the internal depth down to 7 5/8" exactly (or very damn close). Stack quarters in the bottom of it, then insert the spring and buffer. Take up that extra space in there. With the longer tube, the hazard in the operation is bolt overtravel. When it's moving too far rearward, it has to come back forward - that strongass 308 spring and all that BCG mass-in-motion can break a bolt stop on the last round. Or crack your lower receiver where the bolt stop mounts. @sketch, get into this thread, brother... Other way to fix it is to buy a real Armalite AR-10 Carbine receiver extension.
  10. Yep, MOE K2. It's all I get, anymore. Love 'em. I was getting the MOE K2+, but over time, I don't like the rubber coating. Now I just stick with the plastic ones.
  11. I'm pretty sure that all their .308 Win barrels have their own Match chambers. It's not exactly .308 Win, not exactly 7.62 NATO - kinda like .223 Wylde for the smaller ARs.
  12. What's the chamber in that Wilson Combat barrel? And what gauges does WC use?
  13. 4x4 centers, 12" wide. I have some that are 15" wide, and it's a little better. 12x12 plywood sides, 3/4" stuff. Place the edge of the 4x4 2" in from one plywood edge, and 3" in from another edge. Lock it down with long wood screws. I put 2 wood screws in each side, into the 4x4, so it won't ever rotate in the plywood sides. By going 2" in and 3" in, that gives you multiple shooting heights, just by rotating it. I put cheap carpet around the 4x4 on mine. Roman upped the ante by cutting the centering groove - that's slick!
  14. You can still get the scope at "standard AR height" by using lower rings. Get it down to the rail as close as possible, and it's no higher than a standard one-piece AR mount, when you're running a scope with a normal-sized 40mm objective. Almost all the one piece extended mounts out now are offered in "standard AR height," so there are many choices.
  15. This. Locks that specific handguard to the upper receiver with a continuous top rail. There is no "bridging" a gap once that thing is mounted. The whole topend of the rifle is as solid is, as solid gets. Top one, here - look at the top rail, and the scope mounts.
  16. I will get you a vid, brother.
  17. This article makes it sound easy - just get ready and have your paperwork in order... http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2018/01/05/how-to-get-your-hands-on-historic-m1911-pistol-from-us-army-stockpile.html
  18. I love mine, brother - I'm glad to see them getting use in other areas.
  19. In AZ, it's too damn hot to load ammo in the summer - but I sure do prep alot of brass in the summer. I get through all the prep processes, and lay it out back on a cookie sheet to dry out. Man, I'm not kidding, I can pick that stuff up in about 15 minutes, and it's bone dry. After that, it gets sealed, and I start the loading process once the cooler weather sets in.
  20. I declared tonight that I AM NOT going to be a bitch. All my shiit is now back in MY casa. I forgot my fucking weedeater, though.
  21. More baby steps. Gun Pusher didn't get the BA barrel order out, due to more incoming barrel orders - he's stuck. I ordered the Faxon Match Gunner barrel in the meantime - which was always a plan. See, originally, the plan was to fit the SPR-profile barrel to this one, and get the Faxon Gunner barrel eventually, and build a lighter-weight full-on Grendel for Kim. Well, THAT ain't happening now... Anyway, here we are, in shooting configuration. I snatched that $79 deal on the Bushnell AR 1~4 scope, had a spare PA extended 30mm mount, and we can shoot this thing now. Alexander Arms E-Lander 17-rd Grendel mags are on the way. As soon as LaRue has more of those mags in stock (2 wks), I'll get 5 more of them, and the LT-158 mount in 30mm, then finally pick up another PA 4~14 scope for this thing. I've got two slings from Jacob and one of them is going on this - when I get the sling mounts sorted out. Only at that point, will it be "finished." Until then, though, it's "shootable" now.
  22. That is some nice hunting, brother. Very nice.
  23. Oh, that space for it is at my house...
  24. We can cover you in tin foil during those months. Shiny side out.
  25. There's only one time when bridging the gap could be acceptable, and it would have to be a very similar setup to a Mk12 Mod 0.
