  1. Bet that thing would taste great, with gravy!
  2. Open the lever, push in on the lever (towards the mount), and rotate the captured nut on the other side one/sixth of a turn - one flat on the nut. Pushing in on the lever pushes the nut out of the captured machining on the other side of the mount. EDIT - Mount OFF the gun, of course. Won't be able to do this procedure with the mount on the gun...
  3. I have alot of ADM mounts - I set them up so the nut in the other side is JUST at that point where it locks up tight and the mount doesn't wiggle. I test it by loosening the nut one more flat, and it wiggles, then take that nut back that one flat so it doesn't wiggle. I don't worry about how much lever tension it takes to lock it down - just how it's adjusted so it JUST doesn't wiggle. JUST to that point. That's how I have all the magnified scope mounts set, and the red dot mounts set.
  4. Last weekend in March, I'll get you some vids of what a 16" .308AR can do at 660 yards.
  5. NATHAN! Right on, man - great interview.
  6. If it's an Armalite AR-10 Carbine receiver extension, it'll have an internal depth of 7 5/8".
  7. I've got them on the 7.5" 5.56 pistol and the 11.5" 5.56 pistol. They rock. Gen 3 is out now - I got mine just as they were releasing Gen 2, and had to wait. Got some of the first Gen 2 sets out.
  8. Just make sure you put a stout lock in every location that Pelican case has for a lock - if it's 6 lockable points, then 6 locks... NO TSA LOCKS, BROTHER!!!
  9. Absolutely awesome - I have the same materials and taper (profile) in the 16" version of that barrel. Great barrel.
  10. That's REALLY cool how they stepped right up like that - impressive customer service.
  11. I NEVER TRUST THE BAG SMASHERS AND RAMPMONKEYS... Texas airport baggage handler charged with stealing multiple checked firearms http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2017/03/03/texas-airport-baggage-handler-charged-with-stealing-multiple-checked-firearms.html Published March 03, 2017 FoxNews.com An airport baggage handler formerly employed at Austin-Bergstrom International Airpor has been arrested after authorities said he stole handguns from checked luggage to trade for marijuana. According to a press release issued Wednesday by the U.S Attorney’s Office, Western District of Texas, 25-year old baggage handler, Ja’Quan Johnson of Austin, Texas surrendered to FBI agents based on a federal criminal complaint charging him with theft from an interstate shipment and possession of stolen firearms while working at Austin's main airport (ABIA) The complaint alleges that Johnson stole numerous handguns from inside passenger bags at ABIA between Nov. 29, 2016 and Feb. 2, 2017. The complaint also claims that Johnson traded some of the stolen firearms for marijuana, which is illegal to possess in Texas. Austin police have since recovered seven stolen firearms and seized an unspecified amount of illegal drugs in warranted searches, which led to the arrests of two of Johnson's alleged accomplices. Should he be convicted, Johnson will face up to 10 years in a federal prison for theft from an interstate shipment and for possession of each stolen firearm. Johnson was released on a personal recognizance bond following his initial court appearance on March 1 before United States Magistrate Judge Andrew W. Austin. No future court dates have been announced but the FBI, Austin police and the Transportation Security Administration are currently investigating.
  12. Kinda scary to hear - welcome aboard... I think...
  13. Gotta get an Armalite AR-10 rifle gas tube in that thing before any other attempts at diagnosis... Gas has to be guaranteed, first.
  14. ^^^ Yep.
  15. Not for those kind of comments, brother, that this specific asshead muttered - those are never appropriate, despite political party or affiliation.
  16. Had to fix that for ya. LIberal shiit-talker got what he deserved. Militarily, they used to call punishment for this... "The Consequences of Your Actions..."
  17. Holy Sheeeeiiiit! NOBODY is safe in this place...
  18. Here's another PHENOMENAL graphic resource on the issue. It was made by some dude I know... https://762ar.com/technical-information/visual-differences-m15-ar-10b-and-ar-10a-components-ar-10a-versus-the-ar-10b/
  19. Pick up a FIELD gauge. Might be hard to find one. That's militarily used to check in-service chambers - that fail the No-Go. You can still run a military rifle that fails No-Go, as long as it doesn't fail the Field Gauge. Once it does, it gets re-barreled. However, as SS stated above - find out what chamber the barrel manufacturer cut in that thing first, or you'll chase your tail on this. If it's truly a .308 Win chamber, and not some hybrid chamber, then find a Field gauge. EDIT - for clarity, finding a 7.62 NATO Field gauge might not be that hard. Find a .308 Win Field gauge might be tough...
  20. To get back to the original question - that upper and that lower will not work together. When Armalite made the A rifles to accepts PMags (and other DPMS/SR-25 compatible mags), they made changes to the upper receiver to accommodate those mags. Not only are the A and B lowers different - the A and B uppers are different. Here's the no-shiit real information on this stuff: https://armalite.com/portfolio/armalite-ar-10a-and-ar-10b-comparison/ Check ME out, gettin' my Armalite Nerd Magic on...
  21. Any kind of muffs suck with rifles, brother - they hit, and it's normal. To the opposite side of that, I'd say it's weirdly-shaped people that WOULD be able to wear muffs and still effectively shoot a rifle/shotgun... I mostly ditched squishies several years ago, and switched to Surefire earpro. The things do everything that squishies do, and add the ability to (kinda) hear normal conversation, as well as being able to plug them and seal them up for even more noise-blockage.
  22. Damn, you're definitely doing it right.
  23. Talked to Oly Arms on 27 Feb, about a pending order - wanted to check on it the day before they were set to close. They will be staying open in the near future, in order to provide small parts. Also pending is a buyout by somebody - not sure who, they didn't say, and I didn't ask. At any rate, any orders placed before they "closed" will be fulfilled. They did say that they received ALOT of orders before the 27th...
  24. I do, no kidding... Loved that place...
