  1. Who knows? There are tons of companies that offer front sight bases... I probably can't even name them all, after hours of searching company names... I doubt they all train the people that assemble the barrels, though, about a specific direction for installing front sight base taper pins - just ream the holes with the tapered reamer, and smack the pins in... I can guarantee you that the only two companies that will do it exactly to the M16/M4 TDP, every single time, will be Colt and FN...
  2. That technique won't work on pistols or shotguns. But, my laser boresighter does.
  3. He's not reading... Just replying...
  4. Other rear sights also work, like the KAC, the DICK Swan, but not many... Because of the shape of the back of that PRI Continuous Top Rail... Tell me you get it now... You gotta...
  5. See the rear sight inferface with that top rail?
  6. See this Mk 12 Mod 0 here? It's the PRI Continuous Top Rail. That rail goes in a specific position in order for it's cutouts to clear the barrel nut. Now, PRI also makes a rear sight that matches the taper to the back of that top rail. Issue - Matrix .308AR upper receiver needs ONE MORE PIC SLOT at the back of the upper receiver in order to mount up the PRI Top Rail. Comprende?...
  7. It's not in the optic mount, Mike. At all.
  8. Yep. Can't remember who, though, but I chimed in on that, too. I had that issue on my Spike's 5.56 billet set. Had to install a Tubb CWS to cure it. Caught it when it started chewing the hell out of the face of my buffer.
  9. Get some pics of the interference and what's wearing, where... That'll help. Sounds like it's all at the back of the upper receiver, or bolt-to-buffer. Just so you know, the bolt DOES push the buffer off the buffer retainer pin, ever time you close the receivers. When the rifle is closed, that buffer never touches the buffer retainer pin. If it did, during operation, it would shear that pin right off as soon as you fired it, and it recoiled, and closed on the next round.
  10. FWIW, after it's zero'd, it won't need to be adjusted anymore. Would it not get to a zero-state the way it is now?
  11. You're good, Dave - you're busy enough as it is, and that's understandable. People can PM you, as well.
  12. Military rifles will all be assembled the same way. FNs and Colts. "Mil-Spec" doesn't necessarily mean that other manufacturers will still go in from the same side, every single time, with those pins. Just that they use taper pins to secure the front sight tower. Find the small side of those pins, and hit the shiit out of them. Hard.
  13. TOTAL? Or, RIGHT NOW?...
  14. HAHA!!! I love the ending!!!!
  15. Bad news, brother - DEFINITELY DIFFERENT. That first Pic slot on the Matrix is easily 3/8" further forward when compare to an Aero Precision 308 upper. Aero in the front, Matrix in the back. Can't find my calipers right now, but the last pic is the difference in measurements between the back of the upper tang and the edge of the first slot in the Pic rail.
  16. Buffer system is right, or very close, for a.308AR. That gas tube is too short - it should come back to the middle of the port opening for the cam pin, as seen is SS's photo. In your photo, it only comes back to the very opening of that cam pin port cutout... If it's midlength gas, you're screwed. If it's Rifle gas or Carbine gas, you can pick up the Armalite AR-10 gas tube and correct this issue. If you already have the Armalite AR-10-lengthed gas tube, that barrel is incorrectly made...
  17. That Centurion rail is badass - I've always like those rails, and for some reason don't have one on anything... Would look like this, Matt...
  18. I can check and report back tomorrow, brother (Wednesday).
  19. Matt, 68 and 69gr OTMs are going to shoot very well through that barrel, but the 75 and 77gr OTMs are really gonna shine. That's where you'll really see how well the little bullet can do. Rails and handguards - what are you thinking of? Full-length top rail and customizable on the sides? Go M-LOK. Shape? Need to be small diameter, or almost square-ish?... Many questions...
  20. Phase 5 makes a setup for .308ARs, I'm just not sure if their bolt catch will be compatible with the GII. Only way to find out is to take your bolt catch out of the rifle, and side-by-side compare it to the Phase 5's dimensions. DISREGARD - they state that it will not work with the GII, specifically. http://phase5wsi.com/extended-bolt-release-v2-.308.html
  21. Stack 'em up and take a picture, m1911, you need to... On top of each other... Trust me... Barrels pointing to the right...
  22. ^^^ That's the answer... If the barrel isn't drilled right... So, the barrel extension has to go on the barrel FIRST, because of the feed ramps in the barrel extension - they center everything. That thing gets torqued on at 175lb/ft, to the barrel. THEN the extension (and feed ramps) are aligned, and that's the CENTER of the barrel, and the rest of the machining can take place. After that, the gas port gets drilled ON CENTER with those... It's not gonna be the MagPul rear sight that's off - but if it is, MagPul will want it back to check it out, and send you a new one before you even take that one off your rifle... However, in that pic above, that rail is NOT centered on that upper receiver... Does the rail have alignment pins to center it? WITH the barrel nut? That can throw the whole thing off, right there... Might be that all is machined right, but the barrel/barrel nut is not properly installed - torque dictates that if it's gonna be off, then it's gonna be off in the direction that HIS is off... I'm just sayin'... Look at it close...
  23. Sorry for your loss, brother -almost the exact same thing happened to my aunt in 2010. She was very close to us, as she had no kids - we were like the only kids she had. Sad times. God Speed to her, and you as well.
  24. YOU'LL KICK TIGERS IN THE FACE!!! YOU'LL BE ONE SCARY MOTHERFUCKER!!!
  25. Point 'em out. Please provide direct internet-clickable links to those discussions, as well. OLD Mil-surp 7.62 NATO chambered WAR-SURPLUS RIFLES should damn sure NOT be firing any modern .308 WIN ammunition. Period. Please provide information that states otherwise, on modern chambers. I'm not calling you out, or trying to start shiit - don't think that. I'm trying to STOP shiit from spreading... If you have links that state otherwise, please provide them, because they ain't accurate.
