Yep, even in the April shoots. We tried not to conduct an A/S Shoot in the summer, for that very reason - miserable, and you'll burn yourself when you pick up your black rifle, if you didn't cover your black rifle between shooting stages. I've laser-temped black rifles vs painted rifles, and there is a significant difference. It's not just an old wives tale...

The recoil isn't bad - much better on the .308ARs than on a .308 Win bolt gun.

Was thinking about this earlier, specifically. I'll bet it plays hell with piston systems. Piston systems still being operated by gas, with a very short trip (the smallest, shortest gas system?). That gas goes up the gas port, directly into the "manifold" that houses the piston, and the operating rod is a direct link to the BCG. In a gas tube, at least the longer gas tubes have to "fill and pressurize" in order to move the BCG. Once that magic pressure is reached, the BCG begins its trip rearward. Not so on a piston system...

I think with the Superformance ammo (powder, really), it's more about when the peak impulse happens, not how much. In the Superformance, it occurs later. It's maxing out later, just as the gas guns are trying to begin the ejection cycle. Bam, stuck case in the chamber.

Oly was always cool with their serial number information posted publicly. You could research most of their stuff, after the factory disaster. Prior to that, no info. DPMS doesn't have any of that, and people have been pushing them for it for years.

13xxx won't be a pre-ban receiver, according to the most common info on the 'net. It would have to be a receiver below serial number 10300. Here's a good example: http://209.251.48.101/forums/t_2_30/281582_DPMS-Early-Years.html

Sorry to see one go, anytime. REALLY don't like to see one go this way, though.

A .308AR with collapsible stock should be running the H3 equivalent - or, if it's genuine Armalite components, the actual H3 buffer.

Change ammo and retest your rifle configuration, as is, before you do anything else. The cartridge case is still swollen from the application of pressure during firing while the gun is simultaneously trying to extract the cartridge case before it has had an opportunity to settle back to its original size, or more simply: the gun is still in the process or firing while it’s trying to extract the cartridge case."

I'll be damned if that doesn't look JUST LIKE some corn-cob cleaning media. Like they didn't shake the cases out after polishing them - just dumped powder in there and went with it...
