  1. There's a metric $hit-ton of info out there - with pics - on the AP M4E1 version - the 5.56 gun. Look into it if the concept doesn't click with you right away. That upper can run their (different versions of) rails, and the Seekins/Spikes BAR and SAR rails. More details here: http://aeroprecisionusa.com//aspx/product/m4e1upper.aspx?categoryid=6
  2. The HF 2" mini chop saw IS THE $HIT! Picked that one up in-store on sale for about $20. That little thing is perfect for cutting down 5.56 for 300BLK. This is the one: http://www.harborfreight.com/2-in-bench-top-cut-off-saw-61900.html
  3. Or even the RCBS Full Length Die Set - you can taper crimp with those, as another function after the seating process. The RCBS AR Series dies have the crimp function built straight into the seating die - once the ram fully seats the projo, it crimps it right then. One and done.
  4. OP, cut your losses and just sell it on the local CraigsList or local Backpage. Dump it and move on to something else. Nobody here can possibly diagnose the amount of $hit you're going to go through with that contraption. Research below - click that and read up. https://www.google.com/search?q=Blackthorn+Vulcan+Hesse&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=nts
  5. You'll find RL15 numbers that run up to 45.0gr for the 168gr projo. That gets reduced a little when you run a 175gr projo. <thumbsup>
  6. If it's ALL Fulton Armory parts, then just call is the Fulton FAR-308, or the Fulton Armory Titan. Same thing. It's 100% DPMS-based, completely, even when it come directly from Fulton Armory as a full rifle.
  7. Clint McKee would probably disagree with you on that. I'm just sayin'.
  8. Mike, that is FANTASTIC, brother!!! :hail: As I read that, I was gonna ask you how you got him out - but you and DNP both beat me to it... <laughs>
  9. Hodgdon lists it on their reloading website, and so does handloads.com. 175 grain projos for the 308 Win cartridge. You can also download the 2014 Alliant Reloader's Guide directly from their website, getting 308 Win RL15 powder charge weight, right there. Watch it very, very closely - if you look at it, you'll see what I'm talking about. Check that data closely, Ed, and go back and look at what I told you before, for a load. Compare what you find with what I told you. <thumbsup>
  10. No sense in beating up your gear like that, when you have to cut the thing anyway. Cut it at the shoulder, debur and chamfer it in and out, then run it through the sizer/former die. Making the brass is the hardest part - after that, it's easy, reloading it. I posted up the steps of what I go through on here - I just need to find it again... EDIT - Found it:
  11. With a good inner and outer chamfer, you can see a light taper crimp - it shows up, man. Cannelure doesn't matter. I'll try to dig up some pics of cannelure and non-cannelure projos in my 300BLK loads, crimped. I've got them somewhere.
  12. Gonna be hard in the sizer die - very hard on it. I can't imagine running that .22 caliber hole in the brass up into a .30 sizer head. Something's gonna get stuck, or break.
  13. How about the crimp?
  14. You need my coke gram scale - WAY more accurate. <thumbsup>
  15. 98Z5V

    Awesome Video.

  16. Did you pick up the M5E1 upper, or just the M5 upper? You need the Enhanced upper to mount the rail directly to it. THe M5 is a standard setup. Might wanna call them on the phone and change your order, if that's necessary. The difference between the two:
  17. You need to carefully watch what cases you're loading here. Is it Federal .308 Win cases that you're loading, or once-fired LC NATO cases, Or Hornady Match Brass? Quite the difference between them. Just sayin', don't grab a number that's based off "x" and load it into a "y" case - double check and verify all the info you gather. <thumbsup> For 175 BTHP Hornady or SMK projos, try some Lake CIty brass and 43.0 grains of RL15. If that makes you uncomfortable (shouldn't), run the first 5 loads at 42.5 grains and check 'em out. From what I've been using through the heavy 5.56 loads, the Hornady 75gr BTHP projos do slightly better than the 77gr SMKs. I still load the hell out of the 77 SMKs, though.
  18. Did Drew put you up to that?... <lmao>
  19. Got one... <lmao>
  20. 98Z5V

    New pop gun

Damn nice little pistol, brother - ya done well!
  21. JImmy, those bad boys ^^^ need a chamfer to 'em. Also, in this one... Get a light taper crimp on those things if they're going to run through the Big AR. Bullet setback will ruin your day, man.
  22. Sucks to hear about that scope - I wanted to try one of those. You're gonna love that little rifle, brother - they're addicting. <thumbsup> Hell, any mag-fed bolt gun is addicting... <lmao>
  23. Damn great weather here for that, this morning. What a great morning for it. <thumbsup>
  24. I see boxes. Not product. I see a guy that sold someone product, then showed us the boxes... <lmao>
  25. Aero Precision is having a sale on the M5 receiver sets this weekend only. 20% off. You guys need to smash this $hit.
