  1. No sense in beating up your gear like that, when you have to cut the thing anyway. Cut it at the shoulder, debur and chamfer it in and out, then run it through the sizer/former die. Making the brass is the hardest part - after that, it's easy, reloading it. I posted up the steps of what I go through on here - I just need to find it again... EDIT - Found it:
  2. With a good inner and outer chamfer, you can see a light taper crimp - it shows up, man. Cannelure doesn't matter. I'll try to dig up some pics of cannelure and non-cannelure projos in my 300BLK loads, crimped. I've got them somewhere.
  3. Gonna be hard in the sizer die - very hard on it. I can't imagine running that .22 caliber hole in the brass up into a .30 sizer head. Something's gonna get stuck, or break.
  4. How about the crimp?
  5. You need my coke gram scale - WAY more accurate. <thumbsup>

    Awesome Video.

  7. Did you pick up the M5E1 upper, or just the M5 upper? You need the Enhanced upper to mount the rail directly to it. THe M5 is a standard setup. Might wanna call them on the phone and change your order, if that's necessary. The difference between the two:
  8. You need to carefully watch what cases you're loading here. Is it Federal .308 Win cases that you're loading, or once-fired LC NATO cases, Or Hornady Match Brass? Quite the difference between them. Just sayin', don't grab a number that's based off "x" and load it into a "y" case - double check and verify all the info you gather. <thumbsup> For 175 BTHP Hornady or SMK projos, try some Lake CIty brass and 43.0 grains of RL15. If that makes you uncomfortable (shouldn't), run the first 5 loads at 42.5 grains and check 'em out. From what I've been using through the heavy 5.56 loads, the Hornady 75gr BTHP projos do slightly better than the 77gr SMKs. I still load the hell out of the 77 SMKs, though.
  9. Did Drew put you up to that?... <lmao>
  10. Got one... <lmao>

    New pop gun

Damn nice little pistol, brother - ya done well!
  12. JImmy, those bad boys ^^^ need a chamfer to 'em. Also, in this one... Get a light taper crimp on those things if they're going to run through the Big AR. Bullet setback will ruin your day, man.
  13. Sucks to hear about that scope - I wanted to try one of those. You're gonna love that little rifle, brother - they're addicting. <thumbsup> Hell, any mag-fed bolt gun is addicting... <lmao>
  14. Damn great weather here for that, this morning. What a great morning for it. <thumbsup>
  15. I see boxes. Not product. I see a guy that sold someone product, then showed us the boxes... <lmao>
  16. Aero Precision is having a sale on the M5 receiver sets this weekend only. 20% off. You guys need to smash this $hit.
  17. Alliant Reloader 15 is a good powder. Heard rumors that .mil Mk262 is now loaded with Reloader 15. Works well on the 5.56 and 308 Win heavies.
  18. DPMS 308 lower parts kit? Or, DPMS AR-15 lower parts kit? The bolt catch really makes a difference. And, the DPMS 308 bolt catch ain't the greatest. The AR15 one will commonly leave you in the situation you're in now, though. Don't work so well in a 308 AR.
  19. I want this house. Badly.
  20. ^^^ What he said, damn pusher. I want one of these rifles pretty bad.
  21. By far. <thumbsup>
  22. Go with the Aero Precision, but run their M5E1 upper - the enhanced upper. Then you can run their rail, too. Inner diameter of that handguard ia 1.8" - suppressor ready.
  23. Done. And done. We did. Got kinda unruly, because anybody can claim they're a vet or LEO. I ran that section, and wanted to start verifying people, proper. Some of the things I had in mind were what people were bitching about - but were the same verification processes as other places. We dissolved it instead. There are some things that current military, prior military and LEOs say/state/post - that doesn't need to be seen by GenPop. They people in the yard don't need to know all that stuff. Prison terms used, there. Vet/Mil/LEO sections are typically private, and for a reason. If a board had them, GenPop wouldn't even know they existed. And, that's by design, and for reason. My $0.02.
  24. I swear when I read his post before yours, this is exactly what I was gonna say... <lmao> Are you asking if someone here will assemble what you buy? Or, are you asking for what parts to buy, you'll get whatever is suggested, and assemble it yourself? Those are two very different things - and probably nobody here is gonna put a rifle together for you. Handle that, muscle up, and assemble that thing. In a nutshell - pending your response...
  25. That RCBS electronic powder drop is a damn nice piece of gear. One day, one day...
