Dong ha Vet
Been 5.56 for years. Stepped up to 6.8 with builds that get the job done and then some. Marine Corps trained and hard to find shooters that compare. No brag, just fact. I'm ready to put my build experience to the test with an AR10 that will hopefully meet my expectations. Any weapon that does not produce under 1 inch groups at 100 yards is not acceptable to me. So, let's run with this and see what folks on this site can do to make this AR 10 a reality. Thanks, looking forward to any suggestions and input.

98Z5V
Welcome. Please list your preferences, besides "under 1 inch groups at 100 yards..." What's the purpose of the weapon? Barrel length? Desired weight? Example: If you want a 5lb 14"-barreled weapon for hog hunting - then we might have a hard time getting you there.

Matt.Cross
in this platform, accuracy equals rigidity equals weight. you can build a laser in this platform but it will cost you weight wise, and money wise too.
Robocop1051
You can have an accurate rifle, a light weight rifle or an affordable rifle..... Pick two.

How about this - let's see what YOUR WALLET can do?... Deal?... <dontknow> We can recommend any build you want. the question is whether you can afford what we recommend. It's in your hands now. In your initial post here, you kinda come off like a dick. Now's your chance to amend that. Might be just me, but i don't think so.
Microgunner
Goddammit 98! Build this man a rifle and make it a good one. You WILL be tested. What, you haven't started yet?
Matt.Cross
A good many of us will never claim to be proficient shooters, and have turned out reliable sub-MOA rifles. There's no question that it can be done, the question is if it is possible within your parameters and abilities. Having spoken for your abilities, what are your parameters? Malig8r
Welcome to the forum from Washington. There are some very savvy people here when it comes to 308 builds. A little less machismo might help your cause. Just saying.
912dawg
Welcome from Georgia. Just to give you an idea, I am currently building my first .308AR. I am no where near finished due to my budget. I'm having to buy one or two parts a month. With optic and suppressor, the gun will total out around 4 grand. There are tons of places to cut costs, but I figured this is something I will keep forever, so I want to do it top-notch. I'm sure some guys spend more and some spend less. Your wallet will, by far, be the biggest factor in getting sub MOA groups as long as you can do your part.
