I recently changed hosting companies and worked on this new site for the last few days, need some input from you guys, tell me what you think, what I may have missed, what it may need, likes and don't likes about it. I value your guys input. It's a work in progress. I think Robo will like what's on the home page.

It's on a par with most gun shops. The use of a dozen or more high-falutin' adjectives is sort of boring.

Curious why you aren't a member of the NRA?

And, if I can't find a location address I'm likely not going to buy anything from you. You might want to include that somewhere on the site.

You asked.

Curious why you aren't a member of the NRA?

I personally am a member have been for years, the NRA has left us hanging here in NY and have really done nothing about the Unconstitutional SAFE ACT, I addressed this at the 2013 Shot Show booth with them and they pretty much blew me off, they say they are behind the scenes, I am still waiting to see them poke there heads out and support the millions of lawful gun owners in this state, many have dropped their memberships due to the lack of fight and lack of support, that's my two cents on the NRA issue.

Bellow was the letter I sent to the NRA after the shot show meeting;

I am a Police Officer, Police firearms instructor, and a FFL dealer in New York State, I have over 18 years of service in law enforcement along with prior military service, I have been a federally licensed dealer since 1999. I am 100% PRO Second amendment and believe in our Constitution and bill of rights. I recently attended the SHOT Show in Las Vegas and was very disappointed in the response I received from the NRA-ILA Rep I spoke with regarding a question that I presented, the question being; " What are you doing for New York?" did you forget about us?

I was advised that the NRA has law suits pending against the NY SAFE Act, when in fact the NYSRPA is currently engaged in litigation against the SAFE Act along with some additional organizations. I understand that NYSRPA is affiliated and observed by the NRA but what I inquired about was why is the NRA not directly mentioned in the law suit?, the response I received was " We don't want to be directly mentioned in the suit because of negative publicity and political influences"

Really? is this not what our hard earned dollars go to when we become members of the NRA? Who is the NRA working for? You ask for donations all the time but what are we in New York getting for our membership? You might be backing with funding for the suit's but to not want the NRA mentioned because of not wanting to be "In the spot light" is unacceptable and irresponsible on the NRA's behalf.

52 counties have passed resolutions opposing the SAFE ACT, the vast majority of Upstate NY is being held hostage by the downstate voters and legislatures of New York City and I feel abandoned by the NRA, as are many more law biding citizens, we can not pick up and move as Mr. Cuomo states we should do ,so we are stuck here trying to make sense of these laws passed in the middle of the night that will make many citizens criminals.

Shouldn't you as the NRA being such a huge powerful lobby firm stand with us and plant your stake in one major area of concern and show you stand with the lawful citizens of New York and say "Hey, we got your back!"

I look forward to hearing something back more than we're "working on it "

And the response;

National Rifle Association

NRA is directly involved in the suit providing significant legal and other support to the case. We are not listed because we believe based on experience that it puts the suit in a better place to prevail if NRA's name is not on the case. It would certainly be easier from a member perspective if the case were titled NRA v State of NY but it also makes it harder for us to prevail.

We've not given up on NY and will continue to fight until the Safe act is repealed.

That was a few years ago, so you can see why I didn't list the NRA on the website, ok Rant over, sorry for getting off topic, lol

Looks good to me Pappy!  WIsh I had the change for that High Standard.

Glad to see your support of the NSSF!  They sponsor several local scholastic shooting teams here, shotgun and pistol, with rifle to be added in the next few months.  Junior high up through college in each discipline.

NSSF does a great job and provides many services and educational tools for us dealers and the shooting industry, and not to mention you get one free pass for the Shot Show for you and a spouse, lucky for me wife doesn't like Vegas!

Web sight is fine , I always like to see prices posted , so as to compare to other Dealers. I have never purchased a firearm online , so web sights with them , mean nothing to me , as far as firearms are concerned that is , but that's just me , I know a lot of people who do buy on line .

Now if you have a good price on one of the Ruger Precision rifles , that you haver on order , I would consider buying from you , as long as its a 308 cal..?

Looks great on Mobile pappy!

Thanks Shepp

Not much resources for working on the mobile side of it, noticed that some of the pictures on the home page are faded out of view, there is nothing I can do to change this. Still not bad ,but I wasn't very happy that I can not adjust the pictures better into focus.

looks great!

I looked at your source code. I dont see any Google Analytics. If you haven't already setup a Google Webmaster account you should do this and all that goes with it. Without satisfying Googles most basic requirements youll be peeing in the ocean.

It's also a good idea to measure the sites performance and fix the easy stuff but don't become obsessed.

Understand too that competition is fierce with the big names throwing a ton of money at SEO, not to mention paying Google for improved search rankings. So a basic understanding of SEO and the competition is a must.

The vpweb in your domain gives the impression you are a subdomain of a bigger site. That might have an effect on traffic too.

Site is so new that the hosting company hasn't put it into search engines as of yet, they say this takes some time, last hosting company I had were horrible so I dropped them, I will have to check out what you're saying, takes  quite a bit of time doing these things, been sitting behind a desk for 3 days now working on things, and I am no computer genius either, but I have a basic understanding, you mind if I reach out to you if I have any technical questions? Not really looking to compete with the big boys, mostly concerned of getting the info out to LE guys and locals that I might be able to get some more consignments going.

Unfortunately  I could only get the full name with this company, someone must own the tacticalpolicesupply domain name otherwise I would change it up.

Unfortunately it's way more than notifying search engines. I suppose if it's for local and word of mouth maybe it doesn't matter though. April 17 2016 the desired domain expires. You can hope it expires and maybe you can own it by late summer. I dont mind answering some questions but please email me dont PM. PM's are reserved for hate mail

Okay! Now I understand. Here in Massachusetts we are as free as a bird compared to you. In

1998 we had a set of the most ridiculous laws shoved down our throats. Slowly, one or two at a time are being reexamined and tossed. It's a slow process.

As I recall we didn't get a lot of help from the NRA either.

Don't feel bad. I'm in the "building automation" field. High tech stuff that runs office buildings.........................and I have NO idea what the fuk he was talking about. I guess I'm more of a field hardware/field programmer, than an IT guy. laughing

No doubt!! between trying to get things up and running and having issues with hosting company, I can see why people drink!

Changed the domain name to http://www.thetacticalpolicesupply.com/

Last night it was gone!! about lost my mind, back up and running this morning though and didn't loose any content so my blood pressure is back to normal.

All I have to say is, some are quick to say how worthless the NRA is , but don't seem to say anything when they help to get major legal issues over turned or clarified in our favor . They truly don't have $$ to help everywhere , its up to you & others,  in your States or cities to over turn or change laws that effect you in unconstitutional ways .

It just seems like the anti's are winning the propaganda war & it doesn't help us when we sound like them , they have been trying to prove the NRA is useless for a long time .?

Now back to the subject , I too was in BAS before I retired & those things brought up by Imschur are way beyond anything I had anything to do with , but thats why he is the Forum wizard & has so many .?
