Big D Posted February 20, 2016 Report Posted February 20, 2016 Picked up my Falkor Defense.308 Ambi Matched Receiver Set today from the FFL holder. The upper and lower receivers are fit together so tightly that i am unable to separate them .Even tried penetrating fluid, still no dice. Fired off an email to F.D., Anxious to see what they have to say.

jtallen83 Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Use a wood dowel and give it some love taps. I doubt they used mechanical force to put them together so they should come apart with persuasion. Might be a pain till they break in but sounds like a good "match".
survivalshop Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 You pulled the Disassembly & Pivot Pins and you can't separate the Receivers ? Use light taps with a rubber mallet .
Robocop1051 Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 They're all right.I have a SI Defense (Pre-Falkor) .308 and I had a similar experience. You honestly bought THE very best machined receiver set on the market. Celebrate that your tolerances are what they are. Love taps will work. Screw in a pistol grip for more leverage. Once the rifle is fully assembled and you have the leverage, it gets much easier. When it's time to pew pew... you'll appreciate your situation 100x more.
Big D Posted February 23, 2016 Author Report Posted February 23, 2016 Thank you to everyone that commented concerning the Falkor Defense .308 Ambi Matched Receiver Set. I was finally able to separate the receivers with a bit of rubber mallet persuasion recommended in a prompt reply from Josh Clark at Falkor Defense, and also by survivalshop. I was also informed that tight tolerances are what they are known for, and once assembled, separation gets much easier. Guess I'll find out when I get there.
