308lrnewb Posted June 27, 2016 Report Posted June 27, 2016 I was made aware of criterion 308 hybrid contour barrels. Looked into them. I like the 18" rifle length gas 1:10 twist m118 chamber stainless nitrided barrel. Where do I get it? Their webpage says CBI distributor. I click that and it takes me to an email application page. Who is a direct vendor/dealer that could order this barrel? Seems like a better route to go(cheap) vs a more custom made barrel. Nitriding seems to have reasonable review for most parts. Been evaluating a build, if anyone noticed by my novice thread. Thank you all for helping so much already. A great community here. Newb
blue109 Posted June 27, 2016 Report Posted June 27, 2016 You should be able to call them and order it direct. Brownells also sells some criterion barrels so you can check and see if that's one they have listed.
survivalshop Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 Call them up & ask for Josh, he will help you out The Muzzle Device , Gas Block & Gas Tube do not come with it .

308lrnewb Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 how else will I get the SLR non-adjusting gas block to stay affixed? Just thread in the one set screw and let it hang?

Building a gun is a serious matter that needs to be done right and taken seriously. You as a builder need to completely under stand everything for your safety and everyone else's safety around you when you operate your weapon. I wasn't trying to be a dick when I posted that meme to you before, honestly it was keeping me from being a dick. THe guys that have been offering you up info are probably thee smartest guys I know when it comes to AR's and guns in general. I came here green, I'm still not a pro, but I've learned a metric shit ton about ar's here. I'll tell you another thing when one of them helps me I stfu and listen and don't take their advice for granted. Make it a great day....... ps if there's somthing you don't understand or grasp you tube it, there are tutorial videos on there for just about anything! I'm sure if you googled or you tubed "how to install gas block on dimpled barrel" or somthing to that nature your reply wouldn't have been "and just let it hang there"....
