Jeff
All, This is my first AR10 build. When the gun is not loaded, the charging handle and bcg works great. When I chamber a bullet, I can only pull the charging handle about a half inch. I have to take the gun apart to get the round out. Any suggestions on why this is happening? Also, the brass is scraped up pretty good. thanxs! Edited February 11, 2017 by Jeff
DNP
Build details? Upper, lower, what do you got?
Matt.Cross
Rough chamber, probably from a dull reamer. You need your chamber touched up with a sharp reamer, followed by a chamber polishing. A decent gunsmith can do both.

'Bout 5 years ago, though... that shiit was common.

washguy
Hey Jeff Ive found that 99% of the 308's I build...if you put a round in it being a brand new build..and you don't fire the rifle...you will be scratchin your azz on how in the heck to get the unfired round out...So I never put a round in a new build unless im gonna fire it...just a new tight chamber...I bet if you put a round in there and fire the rifle you wont have the problem....aint no big deal...don't let anyone be reaming or polishing on that chamber until you fire a few rounds and see what shakes out Wash

Sticking reloads? Might be neck diameter, if it was...
survivalshop
Have you had the Head Space checked ? How much Lubricant used ? As said , inspect Chamber for roughness . Cycle the well lubed action over & over again , until it loosens up . ( with out ammo ) As said , not usual for a tight chamber on a new build to be too tight to cycle properly with a loaded round used as a Dummy round. Also , as brought up , what ammo are you testing it with ? Edited February 11, 2017 by survivalshop
